App store search always returns to first page

When I search the app store I am always returned to the 1st page after viewing an app description. This is very frustrating especially if there are hundreds of pages. Is there a way to get around this?

I don't know if you noticed the small left-hand arrow head on the left-hand side of black menu bar? It took me ages to notice this..

Why does the Mac App Store default back to the first page of results?

When I search in the MAS for any app and there are more than one page of results, while I am browsing pages 2 and up when I select an app to look at and go back to the search results (either by swiping on my trackpad OR clicking the back button) the list of pages defaults to the first page of results. Is this a bug or is there some setting somewhere that I can change to make it work right??

This is a user forum; whether or not anybody at Apple sees this is not known.
You could log a feature request with Apple via the bugreport tool, if you have access to that tool.

App Store Search is not working in ipad3

Did you switch between iPad Apps and iPhone Apps while searching?
Is the spelling correct? Is ithe app available in your country?

since I updated my software to 8.2 on my iPad the App Store search has stopped working but other features work on the App Store only the search option is not responding and says " the App Store is temporary unavailable please try again later "
I have turned my iPad off and on couple of times but with the same result each time.
the 8.2 update is for the new Apple watch and health app.
can any one help?

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.
Do not change your settings.

Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Launch the App Store. See if that made a difference...

you'll need to edit the security settings to install programs 'Mac App Store and identified developers'
Open the Systems Preference and go to Security & Privacy. There will be a section in the 'General' tab for 'Allow apps downloaded from:" The default selection is 'Mac App Store'. Change this setting to 'Mac App Store and identified developers".
This screenshot is taken on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), so it may look slightly different if you're on a different OS X version.

Where are you seeing that? And what exactly are you doing?

Try quitting the app out of your multitasking bar, and then resetting (hold power an home buttons til device shuts off and comes back on).

I think you need to reset those questions. You'll need to call the tech support for your country, ask to be connected to the Account Security Team and then ask if they can reset the questions for you.

same issue here, started after I upgraded my 4s to ios6

App Store 'Search' doesn't return anything

Using an iPad 2 updated to iOS6 when accessing the App 'App Store' on entering a valid question such as YouTube into 'Search' a list is produced.
Clicking on any of the options offered returns a white screen with just 'Cancel' in the top left and the 'Search' (including entered search data) in the top right.
I have tried restarting the App, signing out and back into iStore, doing a hard reset (full power down and back up), have cleared and re entered wifi connection information (even though all other aspects on the iPad 2 fully function). I cleared Safari Cookies and History, I've even reset the wifi router all to no avail.
With in the App, 'Featured', Purchased', Updates, etc. function normally.
Anyone have other ideas? It's as if Apple is blocking any returned search information.

I'm having a very similar (or maybe the same) problem. Let me explain in detail and maybe someone, somewhere can help me.
1.) I created and exported to iTunes a podcast called Studio 60Cast (for the new show Studio 60) using GarageBand.
2.) I created and published a website with iWeb, and published the first and so far only episode of Studio 60Cast to that site.
3.) I submitted the RSS feed (which, yes, worked when I tested it), and it only shows up on the store when I search using the exact words: Studio 60Cast. It does not come up when I simply search for Studio 60 (meaning, in podcasts, a bunch of one's that AREN'T MINE show up).
4.) What might be the problem is that the author is listed as "unknown." Can anyone give me a step-by-step set of instructions on how to fix this?

My app shows only on page 8 of App Store search

We recently reselased our app and as the sales have been pretty slow so far I started to investigate, in case there was some technical reason people couldn't buy. In iTunes (on Mac) I searched for our app using it's actual name "the man app" and was shocked to find it on page 8 of the sarch results in the US store. That means around 1440 other apps show up in the search results before our app even though I've entered its actual name into the search field. Does this not seem strange? I realise that the three words "the", "man" and "app" are very generic but I still thought it would rank much higher.
When I change back to the Irish App Store and search for it, it comes up as number one. Are the search results linked to reviews and previous chart positions as well as the name and keywords? Or am I being penalised in the search ranks for some reason?
If anybody has any insight into this I'd really love to hear it. I'm worried that people can't find our app unless they have a direct link, which is far from ideal.

I'll add "the man app" as keywords for the next release perhaps (seems you can't alter keywords unless you're uploading a binary). It seems a shame to waste precious, limited keywords on the app name though
You'd imagine that an app name would be a relatively high consideration as is the case with web page names and Google searches.
I'm still shocked that a direct search for an app name doesn't give you that app as a high ranking result.

Why do searches suck so bad on the App Store and return COMPLETELY different results than searches on the iTunes App store? Not only that, they don't even return a tenth of the apps available!

or explain better that it has nothing to do with iTunes App Store, and that these apps are not for any ipod/itouch/ipad device, and strictly for the computer?
