Hi, the App Store will not accept my Visa Debit card or my MasterCard. They are both valid cards with ample credit but system says in red they are not recognised. Please advise.

Make sure that the billing adress and the card owner's name are right. also check if the security code is right. Also don't share your credit card or personal information with anyone to prevent fraud.

Are you using a debit card? I read somewhere that debit card are not being accepted by itunes. Go to settings/itunes & app store, tap on the ID there then on view account, log in and check payment details to see if they are correct.

Iphone's App store rejects payment method, even for free apps! Someone please help me!

Last night i downloaded some apps, that i had to pay for using my Visa Credit Card. I have had this set as my payment method for ages. Anyway, it all worked and i got the apps, but today i tried to download another app, which was free and i had to sign in to my Apple ID or whatever the prompt is, so that i could download the free app.
I signed in and recieved another popup asking me to sign in and review billing information. I pressed OK and signed in again and was taken to the billing information and payment information page. On this page it says that there was an error with a previous purchase from the App Store and that i must check all my payment information is correct. All the information that i had entered there when first adding my payment method was still there. Except for the security code.
I re-entered the security code and pressed done, and the page said that the payment information was not valid, or not allowed and asks me to change my payment information and / or method. So i re-enter all my information for my payment method and it still doesn' t work. It still says that there is an error with a previous purchase and that i must recheck or change my payment and billing information. The error cannot be right though, as all the apps that i have either downloaded or bought have downloaded fine.
Sometimes the error message changes to saying my payment information has been rejected, which cannot be right either, as i was using the payment method yesterday. I know i don't have any funds in my account at the moment, but that should not be relevant as i am trying to download a free app.
I tried downloading different free apps, but was unsuccessful.
Because I spent around an hour or so trying to download the app, i then downloaded the lastest software update, which was 6.0.1 or something. I updated from the 5.something software.
I was still unable to download anything from the app store.
I have tried to edit the billing and payment information from the App Store, Safari on the Iphone and from Google Chrome on my computer, none of these have helped.
If someone has a soloution or if Apple can sort my account out, i will be so grateful.
I use an Iphone 3gs and updated the software on it after my payment information wasn't working for about an hour.

This happened to me about a year ago, call Apple customer service and they should be able to help. It had something to do with Apple's system not reading the credit card info correctly even if it had been stored and worked fine before. They fixed my problem instantly after I wasted alot of time trying to get things to work.

App Store UK - Payment Methods

I couldn't find an answer to this elsewhere so I thought I'd ask in a new thread. The app store in the UK seems to only accept Mastercard and Visa - is there no other way to purchase apps? I have a Maestro card and really these should be accepted as standard. If there is no work-around I'll be one very disappointed Palm customer!

Visa and Mastercard are accepted in all countries. Carte Bleu is also accepted in France, and Electron is also accepted in the UK. At this time, debit cards such as Maestro are not available as a payment option.

App Store Security Questions Wrong Language

Hi I am experiencing a problem on the app store. I try to buy something off of the app store and it asks me to answer two security questions. The problem is the security questions are in spanish. I dont know what they are saying! How do I change the language? And also know I tried to answer them and my account was restricted for a while -_-

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

App Store security questions keep timing out?

I am trying to download some new apps, and since I updated to IOS6 it keeps asking me to answer security questions and add an email, and every time I do, it says it has timed out no matter what I try?
Any tricks or suggestions?

Try going on to iTunes on your laptop/PC or whatever it is on find the app you want to download. Download it. Then go on to your iPad find it on the App Store and download it on there. It seemed to work for me as i to have been having problems with timing out. Seems to bypass the extra security and timing out issue :)

App Store security badly broken w ios 6.0.1

Updated Ipad 2 to ios 6.0.1
Now the app store application cannot download and install apps over the air. Repeatedly requests new security questions. After answering questions and clicking done results in session timeout; cannot connect to Apples server. Doesn't matter who's dns I've configured. Trying to disregard security questions, the app store simply times-out.
Called apple support and tried their default solution, resetting. pffft, no dice. This is a problem with Apples release of 6.0.1. Discussions indicate this to be a fairly widespread problem.
Apple: your lame non-attempt to inform users, including your own support, are really really weak.

Cannot download apps from apps store - security questions

I updated my ipad to IOS6 on sunday and since then, I cannot download anything form apps store.
I lets me update software already installed but does not install new apps.
Every time I try, it asks me to fill in three security questions with their answers, which I do, but I receive the message session ended and to try again later, and doesn't download anything. I don't know how many times I've tried but without success.
Please help me solve this inconveniance.

Update: in trying to get past the security questions again during another attempt to download a new app a message appeared that the "back up" e-mail address was in use already. Strange, since I hadn't gotten anywhere so far, but sure. Entered a completely different e-mail address and voilá: the app downloaded.
Accessed my Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/178/wo/7ZmOPsE0KGRtkD DSmlYfhw/4.0.83.145.1.0.8) and found out the following:
- there is the primary e-mail address, also being your Apple ID
- there is another e-mail address, in my case the one provided as an alternate e-mail address during answering the
security questions while trying to download an app, which apparently and without any explanation is turned into an
alternate Apple ID.
- Because of this you need to supply yet another e-mail address (while answering the security questions in the app store
when trying to download an app) as a recovery e-mail address in case you forget your answers to the security
questions, since you apparently cannot use the ones that are used as your primary and the out of the blue created
secondary one
- subsequently accessing your Apple ID through the webpage you'll find all this back, including the questions and
answers and an e-mail is sent to the provided recovery e-mail address for verification.
Shoot me, but all this got me out of trouble (for now) to the detriment of my beauty sleep.
Hope it works for all of you with this problem as well!

Mac App Store Security

I have recently been downloading and installing, apps from small developers from the Mac app store. So far the apps have worked great, no crashes or problems. But, I recently have been wondering the safety of these apps. I know people say Mac's don't have viruses, but with the increasing popularity of Macs, it has been a more targeted platform than before. In the iOS app store, I know that apps are checked for virus or any kind of malicious software. However, I cannot find any mention of that for the Mac app store. Does anyone know or can link me to page where it states that.

I have had my iPad for over a year now and it has never asked me for my card details only thing it has asked me for is to confirm my password when I'm buying something, but recently it has started asking me for my bank details now I put them in and it says declined but I am not buying anything it's doing updates for apps now I have already spoken to apple themself but they said I needed to contact apple tech support but they said something about needing £1 in my account for them to verify the care is valid which I accept but I have money in there and still says declined.
Could someone please get back to me regarding this issue I have the latest software for it.

This is all about local licensing performing distribution and production rights in media industries .
Its not actually Apples doing and contrary to general belief Apple do not use location services or IP addresses to block access between regional stores.
What they do use and you have now found out is Billing Address and Valid Payment card.
Your Payment cards first four digits are in fact country codes and they will be rejected if they identify a differing country to the store you are viewing.
THIS IS HOW APPLE COMPLIES with the licensing performing distribution and production rights.
Now because Apple are not using IP addressing you can still use your home store and download from anywhere
(It breaks the EULA terms but does work!)
If you are now in Canada permanently however are retaining your home banking service I could suggest you get a Visa Prepayment Card such as this from the Post Office - you don't need a bank account for these.

Top up and use it to open an account in the Canadian iTunes Store and for any other local spending !
Or simply buy Canadian iTunes gift cards !

It might be the last 3 digits of your back of your card just above your signature panel.

App store security problem

Whenever i try to update or purchase an app, i put my password in but then it brings me to a billing info. Screen and tells me to enter my security code. After i put in my correct code it keeps sayin invalid...PLZ HELP!!!!
