App Store shows I an update but no app is listed

There is a notification that there are two updates in the App Store. When I open the App Store to see what updates are pending no apps are listed.

If you are getting the blank app update screen, many people are having this problem over the last couple of days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps

You must be signed into the Apple Store with your Apple ID or it won't work.

How to deal with a 100 Store Error:
Try here >  Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type this exactly as you see it here;
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
    Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Now here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/
    Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    com.apple.appstore.plist
    com.apple.storeagent.pllist
    Now here:
    ~/Library/Cookies
    Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store.

  • HT4623 When I open App Store to do 5 updates on other apps, there is an app frozen on the page..just today did latest IOS update too.

When I open App Store to do 5 updates on other apps, there is an app there that is frozen and I can not get rid of it doing my normal practice....touching blank area of screen and app goes away....not today tho....any suggestions to fix ?  Oh yea, I upgraded to latest IOS today on my IPad !! Thank you all for any help you can give.

Close the App Store completely and reset your iPad.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the App Store app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Can't update--App Store shows I own Logic, but doesn't offer update

I'm running 10.0.1 and want to update to .3.
The app store shows Logic Pro X as purchased, but only offers me the option to install.
I've tried re-starting and installing all security updates, but the situation remains the same.

  • Mac App Store showing already installed updates

    Hello there,
Mac App Store shows me often, but not always, already installed updates. Downloading them again doesn't help. Checking the version number in these programs, the updates are correctly installed. This is a little bit annoying and the update list gets a little bit crowded. Is there any solution for this problem? I have installed Mac OS 10.7.2. There's just one Apple-ID.
Thanks a lot for your help!
    Tobi

    Try deleting the cache...
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Then restart your Mac.

  • App Store showing old, outdated updates. Annoying notifications.

Two of them date back to 2009?! I've tried uninstalling the problem apps and reinstalling them, but it didn't make any difference. I've restarted my device and nothing. At first there was only one problematic app (Galaxy of Fire 2), but as time goes on more and more apps are adding to the update list on my iPad 2 - and they are all outdated updates. As of now I have FIVE pointless update notifications and it's starting to get on my nerves.
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

If you delete the app on the iPad and download the app DIRECTLY to the iPad from the apps store, it will always download the newest version. It sounds like you are syncing older versions from the computer with itunes. Make sure the computer/itunes's version of the app is the latest.
Have you purchased apps from more than one itunes store account? If so, only the ones from the logged in account update when you tell it to. So if you are using multiple apps store accounts, you must update apps for each store account separately.

  • Mac App Store shows already installed updates

I'm new in Mac OS, I bought MacBook Pro ME864.
I have already install Mac OS Yosemite, but App Store keep saying that update available.
Every time when I install this update again nothing changes, but the space on my hard disk decreases.
What is wrong with it? How can I get back my memory?

    Try deleting the cache...
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Then restart your Mac.

  • App Store prompt to download updates to an App (Angry Bird) which I did not download!

I was surprised when I open my App Store, Its asking to update an App (Angry Bird) which I did not purchased or not even downloaded. And when I click "Update" it's asking to login to a user which I don't know, and really don't have any idea who's that user.

You have a pirated app that has been cracked by the MAS receipt form Angry Birds downloaded from someone else's account. To get rid of the problem get rid of the pirated apps.

  • Mac App Store Shows Wrong Firmware Update

My Mac App Store on my Macbook Air shows an update for the following firmware:
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.9
Obviously that shouldn't be there since I'm on a MacBook Air. The real issue other than that showing up in the list is that checking for updates times out on the server, sometimes with the timeout 1001 error, and I'm not able to get updates for any other apps, including iTunes.
Does anyone know how to reset the app store so that it can figure out what kind of laptop I'm using? I tried looking for the com.apple.appstore... file that I saw in the forum somewhere but there was no such file under /Library/Preferences to remove.
I did manually download that MacBook Pro 2.9 update and ran it to see if that would clear it, but it didn't. (And it wouldn't install, obviously, because it doesn't work on my system.)
I did download iTunes 11 and installed it outside the App Store, which worked, and I also updated my MacBook firmware to the latest. And finally, I put on the 10.8.2 supplemental package manually, but none of this has fixed the app store.
    Anyone know what to do?

Fixed my own problem after some searching. I deleted the software update file with this command:
    sudo find / -type f -name com.apple.SoftwareUpdate\* -exec rm -f {} \;
Then after that it all worked fine, including removal of the MacBook Pro firmware update.

  • The app store showed me that I had 3 apps to update, Drudge Report, iBooks

The app store app, showed that I had 3 apps to update, one of them being iBooks.  Anyway I keep getting a message that they cannot be updated at this time however I have been able to update other apps. I can't find any troubleshooting advise.  I have the iPad (1) any ideas out there?

Try signing out of your ID, restart the iPad and then sign in again. Settings >Store >Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Sign in again. Settings>Store >Sign in. See if that works.

  • App Store shows I downloaded Yosemite, but it failed

When downloading Yosemite, it fails, but the app store won't let me download it again as it shows that I downloaded it already.  Any way to tell the app store I need to download it again?

    Hi ..
Make sure your Mac can run Yosemite >  Apple - OS X Yosemite - How to Upgrade
Even though it's a free download, try the instructions here >  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Or you may just need to resume the download >  Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
Prior to downloading Yosemite you may need to do the following:
Disable anti virus software if installed
Check your settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options

  • App store insists that I update the Twitter app even though I've uninstalled it

I first downloaded the app using an old account, now I just want everything aligned to my new account.
Thing is, as soon as I give in and update it using my old account details, I'm told it needs updating again.
It's not a big deal but it's doing my head in. Help!
BTW, I tried talking to Apple support about this but frankly they were useless. I don't think any of them understood what the problem was.

I'm told it needs updating again.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash then restart your Mac.
    Try the App Store.

  • HT201380 Why is The Apple App Store offering me an update for an app I don't have?

Why is the App Store offering me updates for an App I don't have? Specifically, Apple Remote Desktop 3.7.1 ?

    Welcome,
If this is for the Remore Desktop Client Update then you do have it - it's built in to OSX and is used when you want to use VNC clients.
If it's for Apple Remote Desktop then is't for the Admin App that drives the above client and is a paid for product. If you didn't buy this then it shouldn't appear. If it has lucky you!
    Regards,
    Shawn
