App Store shows INSTALLEd when it isnt...

I just reformated my iMAC HDD after a crash and installed the OS nice and clean
When I click on APP store - all the games show a prompt to "INSTALL".
The one program I really need says "INSTALLED" and is grayed out.
It cant be installed cos its a fresh install... on a wiped disc..
Whats wrong?
Any suggestions?

Hi,
It cant be installed cos its a fresh install... on a wiped disc..
Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click iTunes/Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Click: *Reset Warnings* and *Reset Cache.*
Make sure you aren't loggin to iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / View My Account - Sign Out
Launch the Mac App Store. See if it still says Installed for that program.
If it does, you can contact the MAS Customer Service here.

I have tried to install lion last night and it stopped by slow internet connection. I paid through App Store and i tried again today but APP Store show installed. How can I install again?

If you cannot resume the download, try to start the Installation Application in your /Applications Folder. If that does not work, delete the Installation Application and try to reload it. If that still does not work, contact Apple would be my best tipp

  • App store shows "download" when already installed.

Why does the app store show mountain lion ready to "download" when I have already installed mountain lion? Do i need to download and reinstall?

Well, because the App Store is only concerning itself with the Mountain Lion _installer_ (which is an application) and not the OS itself.
The OS will be updated via Software Update, as it always is.  Note that in Mountain Lion that Software Updates appear in the App Store application, but this doesn't mean they're actually delivered _via_ the App Store.  Software Updates for non-Mac-App-Store applications are delivered as they always were, just with a different front-end UI.  It can be confusing ;-)

  • App store shows install button

My app store page for Final Cut Pro X still shows an install button rather than installed but under purchases it shows it installed, anyway when I clicked the Install just out of curiosity it says my Final Cut Pro X was not purchased on the app store would I like to buy it again. Anyone else seen this? Also anyone been able to figure out how to do a strobe like effect in the timeline? Like undersampling? Or posterization as its called in Premiere?

I have the same issue. No, I would not like to buy it again.
    What's the issue?

  • Why the Aperture 3 in app store as installed when it is not?

    I have Aperture 2.1.4
I bought this in 2009 when bought my Mac Book Air as preinstalled software.
I looked at the Aperture 3 app for download but it is displayed as "installed" which I am not.
Does that mean I will have to pay extra to obtain my upgrade version through the normal channel and I cannot obtain through Apps store?
Is anybody in similar situation as me not able to get the latest Aperture 3 through the Apps store because we have Aperture 2.1.4
    Regards

I'm thinking you would just uninstall AP 2.1.4 following the directions at the bottom of the page for 'Removing reciepts and reinstall Aperture' here (but not reinstall):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2945
Note - I would suggest removing the Preferences file as well.
There are also tips for upgrading your AP2 library at this link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3945
As well as the bottom of this page:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2518
Note - I don't have experience with the Mac App Store version of Aperture 3 since I have the boxed version, so there may be something I am missing (as in removing all trace of the program prior to installing AP3?).

  • Can't upgrade iWork 09 to iWork 13, App Store shows INSTALLED and will NOT download

When I purchased a MBP in 2010 it came with iWork 09.  Each time I launch either Keynote, Pages, or Numbers it tells me there is a new version available and asks if I would like to install.  If I say "YES" I get taken to the app store and each of the apps says "INSTALLED" and does not have a download option.
I tried manually moving /Applications/iWork 09 to /tmp but when I revisit the app store it wants to charge me for the free upgrade.
No idea how to fix this.
I wanted to demo this cool new collaboration feature, but it looks like it will have to wait.

DO NOT GET IWORK 13!!!!!!! IT REDUCES FUNCTIONALITY AND CANNOT OPEN OLD KEYNOTES!!!!! IT DOES NOT SUPPORT EVERYTHING THAT IT USED TO!!!!! ITS NOT WORTH THE EFFORT!!!!!!!!

  • IOS 7 App Store showing old updates / showing updates and not letting me install

I noticed two issues with the iOS 7 App Store starting last night.  I'm not sure if it's a temporary issue, since the issue seems to be server-side on Apple's part, or if it's a long-term issue.
I am running iOS 7.0.2 on an iPhone 5s.  I do not have automatic updates for apps turned on (I like checking what an app is updating before installing it).  I have tried force quitting the App Store app and restarted my iPhone.
The first thing I noticed last night was that the App Store showed an update for Hulu Plus on my iPhone but wouldn't let me install it.  On my iPad (3rd-gen) running iOS 7, it let me install it.  This morning, it let me install it.  After, I noticed another badge on my App Store app icon with a "1", and it said there was an update for 94 Seconds, but wouldn't let me install it either.  Then when I expanded the details, I noticed the date on it was from July 30, 2013.  I already had that update installed over 2 months ago.  Screenshots for that issue are below.
Is anhyone else experiencing anything similar?  Any solutions?

    Thanks for the quick response.
I do indeed seem to recall that happening with an app previously.
However, this time it was two apps (Google and Tivo).  I figured they'd get flushed out when more updates (for other apps) hit the App Store. However, when that happened just now, while it did show "update" for those old updates instead of "open", I could not select "update all" up top and had to press update next to each of the (now 4) apps.  The real issue though is that it (of course) can't further update Google and Tivo and gets stuck.  So I can't update any of my apps now.
When I went back into App Store I then got the blank screen that shows nothing under updates but the "Purchased" slider up top.  I thus had to reboot.  I can get back into the App Store, and got an error regarding the Tivo update not being available (this was a Jan 10 or so update that had already been installed), but there it still sits in the updates.  Interestingly, Google did "update" and fall off the badge indicator.  I selected only my true/new updates, so now I'm just stuck with a false Tivo update/badge.
I should add that I am on 7.0.4.
EDIT: Tivo "updated" after the reboot too.  So, bottom line is that you're (I'm) stuck with the false updates until a real update comes through, and then I have to go through that song and dance to clear out the false flags.

  • Mavericks installed but app store shows "download" not "installed"

I installed Mavericks on my new (Christmas 2013 Macbook Air) and updated all other apps associated with Mavericks.  When I visit the app store it shows download on Mavericks app but all others show "installed".
I checked the app installed and in "about this mac" it shows I have 10.9.1.  Why won't the app store show it is installed and should I do something else to complete the install?

Asked and answered a zillion times since the advent of OS X Lion as a direct download. Please do a forum search before posting.
The Mac App Store is about apps, not whether an OS is installed. What you got from the MAS was an app, the OS X Mavericks Installer. It self-deletes when it finishes successfully installing the OS. The reason it says Download is in case you need to download the installer app again.

  • My app store shows wrong id and it is greyed out so I cannot change it to install updates

I am trying to install updates from the App store.
However, when I try to sign in, the dialogue box shows an old and wrong email address as my apple id.
Since the email is greyed out, I cannot change it to the correct current one.
I have checked that I am at the right location etc, restarted several times but no success.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

Do you recognize the wrong ID, or is it unknown to you?

My App Store shows 3 updates but when I go to it the screen is blank. It will not give me the option to update all or one at a time, it doesn't show the apps at all.

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
    1. Go to App Store
    2. Select Purchased
    3. Select All
    4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
    5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

The upgrade I'm interested is for OS X  v.10.8.5...
...The App Store page shows 2 different upgrades:
Mountain Lion  (10.8.5)  Software Upgrade,  and
    Yosemite FREE upgrade
If the App Store is showing 10.8.5 as an update, what do you currently have installed? The final update to Mountain Lion was 10.8.5, and since the basic OS installation of Mountain Lion is no longer offered in the App Store, that would suggest you're currently at an earlier version of Mountain Lion - 10.8.x where x=less than 5. If that's the case, I'd suggest getting the 10.8.5 update. There is also a Supplemental Update for 10.8.5 and that may be what the App Store is offering.

  • I purchased iPhoto after installing Yosemite, but App store shows the download is "waiting"

I purchased iPhoto after installing Yosemite, but App store shows the download is "waiting", with a greyed out box that says pause.

    Hi exyankee,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, an app is stuck on waiting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
