App store sign in

I can't update my apps in the app store because my daughter is logged in.  How can I change the apple ID to log in?

If you see your daughter's Apple ID when you try to update an app, it is her app and only she can update the app. Are you sharing this device? Content belongs to the person whose account was used to buy it. Only that Apple ID can redownload and update the content.

    I appreciate your effort and realize I did not provide a lot of background.
    My issue began when I unintentionally managed to add an additional .com onto my new apple ID and the system then incorrectly verified this "none existent" address. Following days of effort and emails to Apple support I finally ended up  getting set up with my new ID on iTunes.
    The next problem was my App store login continued to have the "old" ID grayed into the signin and since I had changed it to a new ID, I could not login at the App Store.
    I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with a total of 3 Apple reps without a resolution to me problem.
    The last Apple rep, Chad wanted to be able to take a screen shot of what I was telling him, which made no sense to me but I was willing to do what ever was required to solve the problem. Unfortunately, Chad hung up or somehow disconnected before I received the email required for allowing a screenshot. After calling back and adding another 5+ minutes invested, I decided to attempt to change back to my old ID.
    Once I had changed my ID back to the old one, I could download updates and purchases.
    I realize my question was asking a lot but my hope was someone would have some idea as to how to correct the problem Apple Support could not. It seems to me Apple needs to make a correction on their end but it is now into week two of attempting to solve the problem and I am pretty much disenchanted with Apple Support due to the amount of time and effort already invested and lack of progress.

    I have been trying to install my downloads for weeks and I am unable to sign in with my id and password because the keychain saved my husbands id and password.  How can I sign in again and save my id and password again?

    My iteration of the Mac App store will not allow me to sign in.
    I litterally do not get a sign in dialog of any type.
    I'm wondering if there is a way to re-install the app store module to see if that restores sign in ability.

    Yes, installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) will reinstall the App Store for you.
    Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
    If that didn't help, some third party apps like Little Snitch can prevent the Sign In window from appearing >  Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text

    When I go to the app store on the application it truncates my email to just the user part without the gmail.
    What happens is the store does not recognize my user name and password and locks me out.

  • Mac App Store sign-in problem

    I allowed Mac App Store to download and auto-install OS X 9 Mavericks. Now when I try to download the installer to use on a backup external hard drive partition, I'm required to 'sign-in'.  When the "Sign in to download from the App Store" dropdown appears, it already has someone's email address in it, greyed out.  I can't click to put the insertion point into that box, so I can't log in.  The email address pre-positioned in it is "[email protected]".  Have I somehow been hacked during the install?

    Change your Sys Prefs and it will open without issue!

My correct Apple ID is shown in the Apple Store log-in and the Apple Support log-in boxes and I have no trouble logging in to these two sites.   • App store sign in dialogue not responding

    Since upgrading my iMac to Mavericks I have received various upgrade notifications and successfully upgraded several apps.
    However my Pages app is under a different apple id and is listed as having an upgrade ready, but when I try to sign into the App store with that id the sign in dialogue box just sits there with the activity icon circling and nothing happens.
    I can sign in with that id to iTunes and store.apple.com/au etc, and have changed my password and contact email successfully, but I can't use the id to sign in to the App store, the dialogue box just sits there doing nothing.
    I've tried shutting down, logging off, closing iTunes and App store, etc. This has been going on for over a week.
    Could someone suggest a solution to this problem?

    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

    I've been using Mountain Lion 10.8 which I've purchased from UK App Store with my App ID.
    Recently I've erased my main hard drive and tried reinstalling OSX. In the utility I go to ''Reinstall OSX...''. I'm being told that the instalation will verify my machine, verification seems to go fine and I'm presented with Terms Agree/Disagree form. I aggree to the terms and then I'm asked to sign in. After my succesfull sign in this message appears:
    ''This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the UK iTunes store. You will be switched to that store.'' I press ''OK'', message box dissapears and nothing happens. I can see the first window again and can press ''Install'', after I press install everything starts all over again. I'm being verified again, agree to terms, enter my sign in just this time no ''UK iTunes store switch'' message appears, just first window again.
    I'm trying to do the reinstall from Lithuania, can this have anything to do with it? I've bought mac in UK and my UK credit card is registerd with App Store.

    I am having the same issue. I want to download Lion from the App store, however, I get "An unknown error has occurred" each time I try to log in.
    The odd part is that I can log in fine to ITunes and ICloud, just not the App store. I'm running osx 10.6.8 on a MacBook Air.
    Would be super-grateful if anyone had any tips/hints/ideas whatsoever. I've tried rebooting, etc. Thanks.

    I have just got an iPhone 5 - whenever I try to log in to the App Store, I carefully put in the correct password and I get a message which states "Could not sign in - An unknown error has occured".
    I also can't seem to get any 3G access at all.

    Thanks for that, but actually you can open a video clip with FCP "Open with ... FCP", have ben doing that for years, as well as import and dragging etc.
    Still nor resolved issue, FCP opens, appears in
    the tool bar, but no canvas, library etc etc, very weird.
    Have uninstalled, re-installed, same problem. And have a stack of work to do.

    Just bought an Apple 4s.  Have been trying all week to sign up to the app store but it keeps asking me for a postcode.
    I have entered the EXACT address that is listed for my AppleID but it will not accept it WITHOUT a postcode.
    We do not have postcodes in rural Ireland. How do others get around this aggravating problem please?

    First, you've confirmed that your iPhone is set to the correct region and is not actually pointing to another country's iTunes Store? Go here to confirm:
    Settings > iTunes & App Stores > tap your Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region
    If you find that it is set to the correct region, log out of your iTunes Store account, restart your iPhone, and try setting up your account again. If you continue to have problems, go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
