App Store sort of in french???

I have just got an iPod touch an when i connect to the app store via wifi some of it seems to be in french ie. the download button and other features how can i change this to english?
Any help would be great thanks!

Check that Settings, -> General -> International -> Language is set to English.
Or it could be that you've got one of those sneaky French/Canadian iPods.

Have you signed into your Apple Store account? If you have and this is still the case, you may have used a French address or be signed into the French country app store. You can change this by viewing your Apple ID and changing your Country or Region to the United States. Best of luck!

App Store Sorting Loop Holes

Looks like some developers are taking advantage of a bug/loop hole in Apple's sorting algorithm in the App Store on the device. If you put a space or some other other special characters in the front of your Application Name then you get sorted at the top of the list when viewing applications by Categories on the device. Look at the Games category in the App Store on a device and you will see a blatant example of what I am talking about.

Yes companies have played games with the yellow pages forever, but I do not think that putting a space in front of your business name would get you at the front of the yellow pages listing.
This technique seems to really work to boost sales, the " Solitaire City" that is right now at the front of the list, (do not know how long it will stay there before they get leap frogged), has been steadily creeping up the Top Apps list. This game is $9.99, certainly not cheap for Solitaire.

Ipad 4 updated to ios7. App Store is now in French. How do I change it back to English?

How do I change the App Store from French to English? All apps in the App Store after the upgrade now are in French. I am unable to download app updates because it says I am in the French App Store.

Go to the App Store app, scroll down and tap on Apple ID > View Apple ID > enter your password > Country / Region and set it you your account country.

App Store sorting reviews

Have to agree with most people that the new App Store layout it horrible.
How do you sort the order of the reviews? They seem to me to be in no logical order and I want them in date order.

I know what you are talking about pagemakers2! The appstore has become so confusing! And the reviews issue is just one point-.-
One is no longer able to sort the apps by their release date... How am i supposed to see new apps, if i can't look at them?? I don't want to scroll 2h to find them in the categories!

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.

Hi ben,
Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and click on your Apple ID. Click on View Account Settings, type in your password, and then click on Country/Region. You should be able to select your country from there.

As far as I am aware there aren't any settings/defaults that you can change for the App Store app - if it's something that you'd like then you could try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

The iTunes app store suddenly seems to think I'm French.

Suddenly a lot of the content on App Store pages is in French. If i use the "share with a friend" it sends the email in French. I'm not French. Never was. I may have followed a link from a French developer's website, though. But now I want to get back into English and can't figure out how. (Reframing this as an opportunity to learn French is not an option.) Thanks for any advice. BG

Ok I figured it out myself But for anyone else with the same problem I tried re-setting my network settings and that did the trick. I should have thought of that!

A friend of mine logged onto his iTunes from my iPad when I was in France, he's iTunes account is French. When I've returned home to Australia, I signed out his account and signed into mine. When I did this the menu you bar at the bottom of the App store is still in French. Could some one please tell me how to change it back to English. Thanks.

You can try this out: Setting > Store > click on ur ID > select view ID > enter ur password > you can see the option for changing the region or country below the billing information > click and select ur new region and agree with terms.

App store in english, iTunes partially in french on iPhone 4?

I currently have 2 iPhone 4's, an iPad 2, and a MacBook Pro that I sync all my devices from using the same iTunes account. All my account settings are for Canadian English and the App store and iTunes all display properly on 3 of the devices... except on one iPhone 4 the iTunes store is half in english and half in french (The top bar displays in english "New Releases" "Top Tens" etc. the bottom bar displays as "Musique" "Recherche" etc.) The App store on this phone is 100% fine and in English. I have tried resetting all of my language settings and syncing the phone, I've logged out of the itunes account and back in again to no avail. Is my only option at this point restoring the phone in hopes it fixes this annoying issue? This happened after upgrading to iOS5

Finally went to the Apple store and unfortunately, the only way to fix it was to restore the software.
Make sure you back-up your phone first.
It's a bit of a pain, especially since the ringtones and ebooks did not uploaded back automatically on my iPhone once I restored the software and asked itunes to put everything back on the phone (and I lost 3 apps, thankfully they were free so I just downloaded them again).
But it works!!!

If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.

Have you tried signing out of your iTunes & App Store on your device and then back in again - Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign in again and see if it accepts the password.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will display. See if the problem is resolved.
