App store stuck on "Write a Review"

I am using an iphone 5, with ios7.0.2.
I tried to write a review for a game, and got stuck on the "Write a Review" page.  Will not let me cancel, send, or exit out.  Now I cannot access the App Store.
I have tried to use my correct Apple ID, rate the stars, use the correct game name, and actually wirte the review in the text area.
nothing happens,

Hi, Try restarting your iPad when something like that happens. Press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button until you see the red slider then move the slider to the right until the iPad powers off. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo. Try the App Store.

  • App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon

Device : iPad Air 32gb wi-fi model (not cellular data)
OS version : 7.1.1 (up to date)
    Location : UK
Problem : App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon
Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
    However this did not happen.
Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
Nothing I try will download the app in question.
The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
(Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?
Thanks in advance for any support.

    Hi there.
Thank you very much for your quick reply, it's really appreciated.
No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.
    Thanks again for your help

  • App store is being used to review unrelated merchants, not apps

I sent Apple feedback regarding people, and a lot of people it seems, posting reviews of merchants and businesses unrelated to the app itself, Yelp is just one of these apps. It's really embarrassing and frustrating to see countless of comments pertaining to "Joe's Garage", "Kim's Bakery", etc.  By default, the iTunes App store shows the "most helpful" reviews and the reviews of these businesses (not the app) is gaining a lot of traction.
I tried to report the comments as being unrelated to the app itself, but there is simply way too many to do so.
Is Apple even aware of these reviews? Seems that certain comments (not including obscene or slanderous) automatically don't get posted. I am not sure how Apple's filters work but I would like to see filters in place to remove reviews of merchants not related to the app itself.

It's a long running glitch, as the hundreds of threads on this topic demonstrate.
You can wait it out and wait for Apple to fix the servers or you can go into your purchased tab and manually download each update (you'll find the app icons with little update banners on them.
Alternatively, if you sync with a computer, you can use the iTunes on your computer to download the updates then sync them onto your device.

  • App Store stuck on a certain page

I have an iPhone 4S, and the app store is stuck on a certain page. When I go to the Featured section, all I can access is the Vampires section that's currently on the App Store. I can access Categories, Top 25, Search, and Updates fine, but I can not get back to the normal view for the Featured section. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I found a way to resolve the issue:
    1. Close the App Store from the multitasking bar.
    2. Sign out of the iTunes account from the Store section in the Settings app.
    3. Sign back in.
I tried just closing the App Store from the multitasking bar and it didn't work, so I think the key is to sign out of the account and then sign back in.

  • App Store stuck with "Waiting..." after Mountain Lion download.

The status of the install seemed to be stuck at "7 minutes remaining", so I closed the App store and re-openeded it. The status changed to "Waiting..." and I am not sure if anything is happening. Has this happened to anyone? If so, did it resolve itself or did you have to do something to push it forward?
This is the second computer I've upgraded to Mountain Lion today from the same Internet connection. I appears that the download completed, and it began installing the OS. How long should this take?

So, the download was finished like I thought. I went to the Applications directory and saw the "Mountain Lion Installer" app. I clicked on it and it installed immediately with no issues.

  • App store stuck on "Download Now"

When I tried to download a free app from the App Store on my iPod Touch, I got a screen saying "Download Now - [app] will now begin to download" with an OK button. But pressing the OK button does nothing. The App Store is stuck there.  I can still access other things, such as my home page and iTunes, but if I go back to the App Store I'm still stuck on this screen.  After reading another thread I checked iTunes -> More -> Downloads and my download does not appear there.  This is the first download I've tried with my new iPod Touch.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Mac App Store stuck on "Waiting to install"?

Whenever I try to update or install a new app from the App store, it downloads fine but then gets stuck at the "Waiting to install" stage. I have tried rebooting my system, quitting and reopening the App Store, quitting the App store and killing the storeagent process via Activity Monitor and then restarting the App store...nothing has worked. I've included an image of what the issue looks like, this is the Purchased section of the App Store. The screenshot was taken after it had been sitting at that point for over an hour. Any suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • App Store stuck in "waiting"

My Macbook Air came out of the box yesterday. It's last year's model, so I'm (attempting) to bring it all up to date before I start adding everything to it.  Currently I'm running OS X 10.8.5, in part because I'm trying to download Mavericks but that's not the only program giving me trouble.
The app store is currently stuck looking like this:
There is no button for me to press to unpause it. It's just stuck "waiting."
    I have tried:
    - ensuring that I was logged into my account.
    - re-downloading it.
    - quitting the app store the usual way.
    - restarting.
    - quitting the app store using activity monitor
    - ensuring that my virus scanner is off
    - there should not be anything stuck downloading in iTunes because I haven't even opened iTunes yet.
    Any other ideas?

    A friend directed me here
    And it worked.

  • App Store - cannot see customers' application reviews

My iPhone application on category list shows 30+ reviews from customers,
but when I click on it, it lists only 6 reviews. It's been like this for 2-3 weeks.
I also see that some other applications have similar issues.
Is this a known bug in App Store? Is there anything I can do see the reviews?
I don't know where I should report this problem to...

Welcome to the pain and misery that Apple created with OS 2.2
    See my thread...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1801481&tstart=15
I would petition Apple to fix this immediately and remove all reviews with no text associated with them. I can't believe anyone at Apple thought this was a good idea!!!

  • App Store stuck on "waiting" for OS X upgrade 10.8.4. and won`t allow shutdown.

App Store is stuck on "waiting" for OS X upgrade 10.8.4. I succesfully downloaded the package from apple.com and ran it but App Store won`t allow shutdown which is required for the upgrade to take place. What am I to do?

For the App Store, do a Force Quit, go to the apple left side of the menu bar and choose force quit.  That should free the machine to then restart.

  • Mac App Store Stuck - Cannot Sign In

    Hello,
    I've recently upgraded my Mac OS X from 10.6.2 to 10.6.6 .
Now the App Store is installed and shown in my dock , but I can't use it because it cannot connect to iTunes Store .
When I open the Mac App Store , "Connecting to iTunes Store ..." appears after a few seconds but it really does not do any other actions .
The main problem is that I can't even sign in with my Apple ID . When I click "Sign In" from the "Store" menu , the login form appears . After entering my Apple ID and password , the loading icon appears , and the applications sticks in this situation ( nothing happens after that ) .
Maybe I should notice a few things :
    * I'm sure that I have an active Internet Connection and there's no problem with it .
    * I'm not using FruitMenu and similar applications ( which makes problems for App Store and are already discussed in similar topics )
    * I'm not using any firewall or something similar that prevent app store from any connections .
    * I already tried opening iTunes manually ( as described before ) but nothing changed .
    * I tried signing in with other Apple IDs and the same error occurred .
    * I can use my Apple ID in iTunes Store , Apple Developer Section , ... without any errors .
    * I'm sure that I'm not making mistake in entering ID and Password .
    * I was monitoring my network activity and I found out that no request or packet is being sent by App Store application through Internet ( after the application sticks in that situations )
    * I quitted every other apps while doing this , but nothing changed .
    * I'm using iTunes 10.1.2 and App Store 1.0 (54)
Any ideas and helps are really appreciated ... ( I really need this )
    Thank You

    Do you repair permissions ever?
    Try downloading the Mac OS X 10.6.6 Combo and manually applying it;
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
I would repair permissions before and after the installation.
Also you could use iTunes to sign into your account and reset all notifications in your account info section. After opening the iTunes Store click your Apple ID in the upper right, enter your password and view account. At the bottom of the page you will find the reset button.

  • App Store Stuck at Loading

After a long wait, the App Store finally says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".  Everything else is fine but the App Store doesn't work now.

Apple servers appear to be suffering total outages.  Their DNS was offline for the past half hour, so it's not just me.  I'll try back tomorrow.

  • App store stuck on updates screen

After using my iPhone 4S without any problems since I got it, this morning I went into work and checked the store app for updates to my apps.  LAst night at home there were 2, but I waited until today to download them.
However, at work when I go to the "updates" tab of the App Store App, I get the spinning waiting icon and "loading"
I can access the other tabs of the store app, or search for an app. I am on office wi-fi.  I can access the internet from Safari and all other apps.
My iPad accesses the updates fine, and I just ran several updates, including 5.01 on it.
I tried rebooting the phone, and resetting network settings.
    This is a 4S on 5.01.
    Ideas?

Past two days I've had apps that wouldn't download properly.
Must be problems on Apple's server.
    It should right itself again

neither done or cancel are lit??? Cant get back to apps store??

    Hi dw03053,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To address this issue, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

You can also sign out of your iTunes Store Account and sign back in to re-establish the connection.
