App store Updates freezes during installation

So when I do App store updates, besides getting the "You already purchased this app" and the "are you 17 or older", It downloads the first app the installation gets to 100% (going by the blue bar) but it never finishes. However when I go to the app store and press Update all, it asks for my password gives me the "You already purchased this app" and the "are you 17 or old" again, finishes the first download completely and then happens to the next update.
No I do not let my devices sleep when I am doing an update. Nor is it signal problems.
Is this an iOS problem (seeing how my iPhone, iPod, and iPad) have the same exact problem? Also has anybody else have this problem?

I have the exact same problem with my iPad 2. Any fix?

a few days ago Aperture (bought in the App Store) no longer reacted when trying to start it. I erased it. Now everytime i try to reinstall from the App store
(it shows up correctly under bought items) the App Store application freezes. Any advice how to solve this problem?

    Hi,
Use AppDelete to make sure all the Aperture associated files are removed from the hard disk.
    http://www.reggieashworth.com/appdelete
Then restart your Mac and follow the instructions at this link to re download the app.

  • TS1702 App Store updates freeze

While trying to update apps, the App Store froze, with updates saying "INSTALLING". I can't use any of these apps, nor can I get out of that locked situation. I'm traveling, so cannot reconnect to my home computer. Can anyone help? (I've tried the 15-second restart solution suggested in some posts online.)

See if this at least gets you out of that frozen App Store screen. Close the App Store and then reboot your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the app store icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app store icon to close it. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You must wait until the Apple logo appears on the screen before you let go of the buttons.

If it's freezing when you try to update apps, try force-closing the App Store app.  From your home screen, double-tap the home button, locate App Store in the list on the bottom, tap an hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again.  Try updating again...any difference?

  • "err = -43" when downloading app store updates

    Help,
I added a NAS a few months ago, and use that to store my iTunes library. Since then, whenever I have app store updates, I usually get ~50-75% rate of receiving an error message when auto-downloading updates. The process runs through, but many of the apps receive this error, and many other apps go through the entire downloading process, but iTunes still shows them as needing updates afterward, requiring another full download.
I'm fairly certain this has to do with my NAS, but am hoping someone can help me understand what settings/configuration could help to minimize the occurrence of this issue.

Try deleting the partial cached downloads in the iTunes media folder.
That error is outlined here -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~)  refers to your Home directory.
    Windows  Vista:
  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows  7:
  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows  XP:
  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My  Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

  • IOS 8.1 App Store updates

    Hi,
In iOS 8.0, 8.02 and now 8.1, I have noticed apps appearing in the app store update section waiting to be updated, that once you update the apps, they are NOT cleared out of the "Updates" page.
This was a problem, if I'm not mistaken, during iOS 7also.
Anyone else experiencing this problem as well ??
    Benja

I found some other comments which alluded to removing all items in my "newsstand".   I did that, rebooted and now application updates are working again.  Of course, this isn't a long term solution as I do want my newsstand magazines back.    When are we getting a fix?

  • App Store update problem: updates do not install

    Hello,
since some weeks I have the following problem: In App Store -> updates an available update is shown. Then I click the update button, but it does not install:
    - at some apps there is a little black&white + sign in the top left corner of the update button. When I press the update button nothing happens.
    - at some apps the update button changes to a green install button. Once I click on the install button it changes back to the update button.
I can bypass this problem by using the search function, find the app that offers an update and click on install there. It installs correctly and the update is no longer displayed. But when there are several updates available at the same time this is an annoying procedure.
I can also buy other apps I have not yet installed without problems.
My iPhone is a 2G with the latest OS 3.1.3.
    Thanks for your help

Now I learnt that Apple doesn't like customers that use the same Apple product for a longer time. "Please throw away once we have the next iPhone".
Since no one actually said that, let alone the fact that Apple wasn't participating, that statement is nonsense.
If you haven't grasped the concept that apps become obsolete with the never ending updates of hardware and operating systems, you're truly naive.  This is true with all computer, smartphone, and software manufacturers. All things can't be supported forever.

  • Mac App Store update: right Apple ID but wrong user account

My Mac App Store updates get associated to the wrong user account but the correct Apple ID.
I live in Germany and have an iMac and a MacBook Pro, both purchased under Snow Leopard and now running Lion 10.7.2. Just after upgrading to Lion I "purchased" a free App (BibleReader 5.0.0). This morning I logged into my wife's user account on the MacBook Pro, and the App Store icon flagged an update. I switched to my user account and was surprised to see that the update wasn't flagged there. By listing my purchases I did suceed in finding an "update" button for BibleReader, but pressing it resulted in a (German) error message whch translates as "An update is available for another account. Please log in with the account you used to purchase the App". But that is what I had just done.
Intrigued I went back to my wife's user account. By logging onto the Mac App Store with my Apple ID from my wife's user account I did manage to update the app. Later at work I got the same error message on the iMac. But this time the only other user account on the machine belongs to Computing Services: I don't have their password and I ought not to use admin rights to gain access to their account. So I can't perform the upgrade on the iMac.
All family iTunes / App Store purchases are via my main Apple ID. My wife's user account on the MacBook Pro only exists so that I can manually synchronise our iCloud address books (she has an iPad).
    Any ideas?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
All the applications you purchase on the App Store are registered to your Apple ID, so you have to use your Apple ID to update them, or you have to purchase those applications again using the Apple ID they are using on that computer, so they will be able to update them

  • HT204152 I am unable to update my App  store Updations. the reason being billing problem asking to update payment method.many times i updated my credit card details but refusing from the system .how can i update my app store updations like  Face book etc.

I am unable to update my App  store Updations. the reason being billing problem asking to update payment method. Many a  times i updated my credit card details but refusing from the system .how can i update my app store updations like  Face book etc....Using ! phone 6plus  .IOS8.3

What do you mean by 'refusing from the system', if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
For a credit card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is and if you are getting a 'declined' message then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If when trying to download you are getting a message about a 'problem with a previous purchase' then that implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase. If that is the case then you won't be able to download anything else (including app updates) until you've paid off what you owe : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If you aren't getting the 'problem with a previous purchase' message then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card's details and be able to download updates to your apps : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support

  • App store update shows I can't update an app since my Apple ID is not associated with my account on Yosemite

App store update shows I can't update an app since my Apple ID is not associated with my account on Yosemite. How can I just force it to allow me to RE-BUY the app again since I don't even have it to update, but I want it?
Currently, I even though I don't have the app, I am not given the option to buy, only to "update", and when I click on that it either hangs or it complains that it can't since my Apple ID is not associated with my account.

And it was your wife's Apple ID that was used to download and install the Yosemite you are using on this computer? If so then I suggest you need to contact Apple to get his straightened out.

Looks O.K. to me Opens correctly in Firefox and Opera as a log-in page for Killer Content - Win7x64 Fx5.
I can't see any oddities in your plug-ins. It never hurts to clear any relevant cookies and your cache.
You could see how it goes in Safe Mode - Hold Shift key down as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens and continue. If the page opens you probably have a problem with extensions or themes and you should work through this -
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting%20extensions%20and%20themes
A lot of things have been updated as well as Firefox and you could have a culprit or conflict. Next, if there is no improvement you could try disabling third party toolbars, and you should report back at this stage or if there has been early success.
Someone may come by with a more specific remedy.

  • After iOS 8.3 update, apps stuck on OPEN on App Store Updates page

Did the iOS 8.3 update by backing up my iPad Mini in iTunes then doing a "Restore". I did that with the last update and all went fine. This time, it appears to have gone well except that I had some apps that had updates pending after the Restore. After doing the updates, when I go to the App Store "Updates" page, I still have 4 of my apps listed there with the button option set to OPEN. On the upper right corner it says "Updated August 18, 2015". Yesterday when I did the update was Saturday April 25, 2015 - go figure. When I tap them they all open but they never leave the page. One post said to wait until an app had a valid update pending and see what happens after I update it, so I'll need to wait to see if that works. I have searched this community and tried all suggestions: changed the date set to manual and push it out over 30 days. That did not work. Did a reset. No luck. I even did another "Restore" thinking maybe that would resolve it, but they came right back. The puzzling thing is that in all of my searching, I have found apps stuck in differing states of "waiting" or "downloading", but none of them have mentioned seeing the apps with the OPEN option visible. I did delete the apps and that made them go away, but I'd prefer to keep them. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks in advance...slog

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.
