I am trying to get the app store to work, but I can't get past the 54 page account settings.  It won't let me approve it and when i try to email it to myself to approve, it does not allow it. It says there was a problem with sending.  Any ideas?

  • My app store won't let me download none of the older versions of apps for my ipod touch 2g.

My app store won't let me download any of the older versions of an app, but in my sisters case she can and she has an ipod touch 2g just like me. She was able to download kik, twitter, instagram, and some more apps that told me I had to have ios 4.3.1 or higher to download. and theres only one app I want and its kik, can someone help me figure out whats wrong with my app store, it would be a great help.

Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

If anyone has any help please help!My vine got felted and I didn't do it and the App Store won't let me re-download it

What happens when you try to redownload by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • App store won't let upgrade Keynote

I have Keynote Installed but want to upgrade to the new version and App store just says installed and won't let me. What should i do?

Bump.  Same problem here.  Apple, what say you?
I have some files on iCloud, saved from like a year ago.  When I tried to open it, it says
You need a newer version of Keynote to open this presentation.
You can download the latest version of Keynote from the Mac App Store
And when I go to the link and pop open iTunes, it says it's "Installed".  If I uninstall it, will it then cost me $20?  Might give the impression that Apple is (intentionally) gating users out of their old files to force folks to pony up for the new version.

  • IPad App Store won't let me download apps

iPad App Store not letting me download apps anymore?!?!?!

    1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
    2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
    3. Make sure Time Zone is correct
    4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

  • ITunes/App Store won't let me complete my purchase,

says there is billing problem with previous order and to please update payment plan

Have you logged into your account and checked/updated your payment details ? If there was a problem with your last purchase and iTunes wasn't able to collect its payment, then you won't be able to buy/download anything else from the store until you have a valid payment details on your account and what you owe has been paid off.
You should be ableto check/update your payment details on your account via your computer's iTunes : go into the Store > View Account menu option and log into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

  • App store won't let my buy lion

I have a 2007 MacBook that originally came with 1G (2 cards) RAM.  I have upgraded my system everytime I needed to (most recently to leopard), and when I went to buy Lion on the App store, it said I needed 2G of RAM.  OK, I did all my research and found that I could safely upgrade my RAM to 3G, so I did.  Then I confidently went to the App Store and .... no.  Now it says I need 3.something G to buy Lion.  What is going on???  I have cleaned up my computer, got rid of nearly everything extraneous, and nothing...I can't get it.  Can someone help me?

    hunttvillage wrote:
Sorry, OK, I replaced the original 2 cards with (1) 1G and (1) 2G cards (DDR2 PC50300 SO) from Other World Computing.
You added 2-2GB RAM, but can only address 3GB.
The message is:  You need 3.54 GB of available space to download Mac OS X 10.7. Remove items from your startup disk to increase available space.
I have 2.88G available memory.  Sooooo... any takers?
The 3.54 GB is refering to the space on the hard drive, you don't have enough room to download Lion, much less install it.
I see what your problem is, your computer has slowed down substancially because your hard drive was filling up, so you thought if you upgraded to Lion that it will be faster.
Lion will NOT make your machine faster by itself (10.7 is slower than 10.6) and installing on a full hard drive will make your machine even slower!!
Your problem is your hard drive is filled, you need to keep boot drives less than 75% filled and ideally less than 50% for optiminal performance with the operating system and programs all up at the front of the hard drive where data is more responsive and the files etc at the end of the drive.
My advice is you STOP, do NOT install Lion at this time until you have:
1: Made a backup of all your data off the computer to a regular external drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
2: Boot your computer from the 10.6 install disk by holding c and using Disk Utility to erase your boot drive.
3: Reinstall 10.6 fresh, setup with the same username, then update to 10.6.8, then if you wish update to 10.7, (but I advise against it)
If you upgrade to 10.7 your going to have to find all new 10.7 compatible software, including printer and scanner drivers.
Please, do not install 10.7 the way your going, your going to brick your machine, I see it coming and we will not be able to help you as you wil lbe offline.
If you don't know what your doing, please let a experienced Mac specialist assist you.

  • App Store won't let me sign in

There is but one problem. When asked to log into App Store, in my case to download some updates for my Macbook, the username and password dialog box already have a username written in – and it's greyed out, so I can't change it.
Now here's the twist: It's not my username that is greyed out.
In fact, after trying several times, I realise the dialog box only gives me two options, switching between two e-mail addresses I don't own. Surprisingly enough though, I know who owns one of the e-mail addresses, and it's a close friend of mine. I'm a 100 % positive this isn't something he has done on purpose. But the problem still remains, and none of us know why.
So I got an idea, that if my friend could log into his account, and then log out afterwards, the App Store dialog box would allow me to write my own username. I tried that, and it worked great – until I was rejected in the same way as before, after having rebooted the Macbook.
I have searched many apple forums for the answer to this, but it seems I am alone with this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Here's a photo of the dialog box, with a greyed out apple ID field.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds," or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.

  • App store won't let me update iphoto since upgrading to yosemite

i just upgraded to Yosemite, and now my dock shows the iPhoto icon with a slash over it saying that it's not compatible with Yosemite. when i go to the app store to update i get the message as follows -
Update Unavailable with This Apple ID
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
unfortunately i can't even find out what version of iPhoto i'm running because i can't open it.
anyone have any ideas on what's wrong? thanks in advance!

You should be able to go the Mac App Store, login with your Apple ID that you have set up and registered, and then since you just bought the iMac New you should find those two Apps to click on listed in the "Purchases" List that is associated with your Apple ID account.  You may or may not need to, for Free, redownload those two Apps from the Purchases List to trigger allowing Free Updates.  I'm not sure, not having done this that way.
    Hope this helps

  • TS1702 I restored my iPod touch 1st generation and the App Store won't let me download apps I previously had.

I got an iPod touch 1st generation and downloaded loads of apps, some paid some free. A few weeks ago I restored the iPod touch and when I went to download apps that I had already owned it said I needed a newer iOS.  It says I need iOS 4.3 and I have iOS 4.2.1 and when i tried to update it says I have no software updates.

Do you have any of those apps saved on your computer, in iTunes?
It is true that your 1st generation iPad is already now running the highest version of iOS it can. It cannot be updated further.  If the developer has pulled the older versions of their apps and now only offers versions requiring iOS 5 or 6 then you will not be able to run those apps any longer (unless you kept backup copies of the older versions in iTunes on your computer).
Developers determine what version(s) of their apps are in the App Store. As many have updated their apps to take advantage of the enhancements in iOS 6 , they've pulled their older versions and no longer support them.

  • I've ju App Store won't let me upgrade the iPhoto ,it says update unavailable with this apple id store (something like that). What can I do to fix this. I want to be able to access my photos. Thank you.

what should i do when the app store doesn't allow me to upgrade iPhoto after i upgraded my mac to yosemite?

To upgrade to iPhoto 9.6.1  you must first delete all previous versions of iPhoto that are on your hard drive. Also delete any alias files that you may have created for iPhoto.
Next go to the App Store and look under Purchases for iPhoto 9.6.1.  You should be able to download and install it.

  • HT4854 Mac App store won't let me re-download Mountain Lion on a Late 2012 Mac mini, says computer is incompatible.

I have a brand new late-2012 Mac mini running 10.8.2. I'm trying to re-download ML from the App Store to create a bootable USB recovery key just in case. I'm being told that I can't DL Mountain Lion because my computer isn't compatible. How can that be?!
Part of the reason I want this key is the fact that I just jumped through 5,000 hoops to recover Mid-2011 MacBook Air from the recovery partition. The installation kept giving me an error. EXTREMELY annoying. I had no key. It set me back a few days. I don't want this problem to happen again.
I have a valid purchase, I own the software, I should be able to download it, period.

    Well said.
If I follow the advice of the fellow above and download the installer via Internet Recovery, I'm not going to be given access to the installer for the sake of making my key—or will I? At want point in that workflow will I have the opportunity to boot to back into my already working OS (on the 2012 mini) in order to do what I need to do?
I have access to a most recent release (2012) 13" MacBook Air (FWIW, the 2011 MacBook Air in question above happens to be an 11"). Am I likely to run into the same problem as with the 2012 Mac mini, where the version in the App Store still hasn't been "synced"?
Unbelievably annoying. Worse still is while I'm stuck in self-help purgatory, if something were to happen the recommendation would be to visit the Genius Bar. It's not a bad service, but why should I have to rely on it if I'm perfectly capable of taking care of everything myself provided the correct tools are at hand?
Incidentally, what happened with the 2011 MacBook Air is that the stock hard drive was formatted prior to sale. The recovery partition was left intact. I used it to begin the reinstallation of the OS. It was working fine until I realized I didn't have enough time at the moment to continue to download the required assets. The computer needed to be transported 200 miles away and time was of the essence.
I cancelled the installation with the intention of revisiting it when I got to my destination. When I did so, even after freshly formatting the drive again in Disk Utility, I got an error right as the download began. No amount of tries made a difference. Same error. The only thing that will work, obviously, is a USB key or the equivalent with the installation files pre-downloaded—unless someone here has some other insight.
    Thanks so much to all.

  • My iphone 4 has started deleting apps and app store won't let me redownload them!

A week or so ago, my iphone deleted a photo editing app, and as I went to redownload it, it gave me the option to open the app (which was not on my phone), but not to reinstall it. it did the same thing with a music app the next day. now it's at the point that I cannot download any app; deleted or new. does anyone know how to fix this?

If the open button actually opens the app, but you do not see that app on any of the home screens, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
If it does not open the App or if you still cannot find the app, go to Settings > General > Usage.  Locate the App on the list and delete the app.  Then you can re-download it from the App Store.

  • HT1338 Mac app store won't let me update iPhoto and iMovie.

I'm trying to update iPhoto & iMovie, just got a new mac and when I go into the Mac App Store and click update on iPhoto and iMovie it says: "To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it." .....both came pre-installed on my mac and I only have one apple ID, I don't have another one to sign into... please help?
