App tells me it was bought under different account

I had to send phone back and after I installed one of programs back with iTunes now if I try to buy upgrade it tells me it was bought under different account. But that is not true!

Only if you have one iTunes account on one computer and then they sync their iPad to that same computer. Make sure that each iPad is named different. And then each can share the same apps or not share as they wish.

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
Step 5
According to a report, the error can result from changing the language setting of your Apple ID account. I can't confirm.

I, like many, have recently migrated from iPhoto to the new Photos App. I'm having one significant issue that is bothering me, using a single Photos library under two different accounts on my Mac. In iPhoto, I could easily point both accounts at one library. The only minor issue with doing this was that both accounts couldn't have it open at the same time. However, everything else worked great, including setting the screensaver on both accounts to be the iPhoto library.
Now that I use Photos, everything works fine on one account, but if I try and open the same Photos library on a different account, it gives a generic error and fails. What am I doing wrong? Is this not possible? That's a pretty obnoxious issue if so.

It should be fine... it certainly works with iTunes for Windows. You just need to run the same version of iTunes on each machine you want to connect to.

Windows Server - Run multiple domains under different accounts

Hi,
I have multiple domains on a Windows Server. I'd like to run these under separate accounts for security reasons.
My options I have so far:
1) Install all Admin servers and managed servers as windows services and set logon appropriately
2) If possible, use multiple node manager instances, one for each domain and set the log on for each node manager windows service
I like the idea of multiple node managers but I can't find any reference in the documentation about this. I'd rather not use option 1 as I won't be able to restart servers from the WebLogic Console
Has anyone had to do this before?

First option might be the cleanest .
For second option make sure that there are separate Node_Manager home directory for different node manager instances.

A large number of songs, my kids bought under an account that nobody knows the password to. The account name I know, but the email address associated with it is no longer available. How do I authorize the songs to play on this new computer.

A large number of songs were bough under an itunes account that we no longer have the password for nor access to the old associated email address. I know the account name but it no longer exists. How do I now authorize these songs to play on this new computer. I do know my current itunes account information.

It's not a good idea to post your email address on public forums, I've asked the hosts to remove them.
All content is tied to the account that downloaded them, and you can't currently transfer them to a different account. If you don't know the password to that account then you can try getting it reset via this page http://iforgot.apple.com . If you can't get it done that way then you can try getting access to the account by contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. If you get access to it you can then change the primary email account on it to one that you have access to : http://appleid.apple.com

How do I divide content bought under my account into new accounts?

My family has shared one iTunes account and now would like to separate the things we bought into individual accounts.

This is a shame and hopefullyApple will come out with a solution to it in the future. I am sure there are many like our household that have children too young to have an Apple ID set up in their name. We are currently all sharing one ID but the kids obviously have different musical tastes than we do. At some point when they are old enough it would be nice to transfer thir music to their accounts in a simple way.
Right now the only thing I could think of doing would be to burn the music on our family account to discs and turn around and add it to their individual accounts once set up. Perhaps Apple will come up with a different method in the next 5 or so years (I am sure there is an opportunity for them to make money via transfer fees - perhaps a fee for a single transfer and maybe a more econimical fee for a mass transfer)

Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them.
Another way is to delete them and download using your own Apple ID.

I had an old DELL in college and a 120gig ipod. Both the computer and ipod have, "gone to a better place," and now i have a MAC Book Pro and the iphone 4. On my old computer i had bought and downloaded various tv shows, movies, and music from itunes. Depending upon what country that you are in (the types of content that can be re-downloaded varies by country), and whether they are still in the store, you might be able to re-download some/all of them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the left-hand side of the iTunes store home page : re-downloading.

How to Run 3.1 Servers under different account

I have waded through all the install PDFS, and still do not see this - how can I change the account that runs the different services?
In R2 you could change the account in the various services from Local System to another account, where is this done now?
Is this now just done in one place, the SIA, and ALL services run under this one account?
but in the ADMIN PDF, there's this on page 133
"In the CCM, select the node on which the servers runs, then update the password or account."
I see that there is an account here, but I cannot change it, and when I stop the node, then the whole page dies.
I need to run the CR job server with a single SQL account that has SELECT rights to the data.

If I wanted yet another SIA, would I use 8410? Then 9410? What if one of these ports are in use?
This feels very random, is there a way to methodically select which port to choose?
And now there's no option (that I can find) to add a Crystal Reports Job Server.
I have tried to add every server in every Service Category, and there is no Job Server or Crystal Reports Job Server that is obvious.
Where is this hiding?

I tried to activate my iPhone 4 with Verizon but they said it was already under an account. The phone was brand new, what do I do?

I recently tried to activate my iPhone that I bought brand new from eBay. I set up the phone so I could do everything with wifi but the other day, I called Verizon to get the phone activated but they said the IPhone is alreadyunder an account. I only set up my iTunes and iCloud on my phone. I contacted the seller and told them what Verizon said but she said the phone was already deactivated. What do I need to do? Or is there no hope? If the eBay seller said the iPhone was already deactivated, then that is an admission that it was not a new iPhone. It was used and activated by another user.
Take your purchase receipt and the iPhone to a Verizon store, talk with their staff, and see if there is a way to get the iPhone removed from the other account.
This may take time as they will likely want to be sure the iPhone has not been reported as stolen.

My Ipod has been registered under different account what can I do?

I bought an Ipod Classic about 2 yrs ago while living with a friend. This was the 1st apple product I had ever owned so was very un savy on the operation and use of it. He said that he would add me onto his account and we could both just pay for downloads onto the various devices linked to that account. I have since lost contact with this person and when I have gone to setup my own account with a new Iphone recently purchased, I find the Ipod is still linked to his account. I have several thousand files on this ipod which I paid for not sure what I can do to put it onto my account. Wanted to share the music from my Ipod onto my Iphone aswell but after reading many bloggs it seems that this may not be possible. Can someone please advice me what the best option for me to do is?

There is no account to put the iPod on.
The media on the device is permanently tied to the Apple ID that it was acquired with.
If you want the media, purchase it yourself.

Itunes keeps threatening to delete music from my ipod that was bought with an account that no longer exists. How do I keep the music?

My original itunes account was set up with a work email, so when I left the company, I contacted support to have a new user name and transfer the library. Now each time I synch, it is trying to match up to the original purchase from the original account, rather than just with my current list. I can no longer access the first itunes account, because it doesn't exist anymore.

Hey there~ I had a similar experience, when the email I used to set up the account was hacked and subsequently shut down by Hotmail. If you contacted Support to change the name, but not the email address, you will need to do so again.
Also worth noting~ if, at any time, you synced your device to your work computer, you'll need to contact Support to deauthorize it and enable your current one.
