App to lock individual apps

Hi Guys,
i am looking for a program that protects all other open programs from accidental / locks. Privacy is not written supposedly great but if the iPhone is open, everything else is accessible. I think that this feature of Apple are programmed into the firmware and must, therefore, would like a password protection for applications such as photos or video. I would not have to jailbreak the iPhone because of it. Is there currently a solution for it?
Regards,
Tom

Did you check out Settings> General > Restrictions? Some limited controls there.
Nothing in the App Store can control other apps, but there are, for instance, apps that will hold photos and offer locking, which would let you hide specific sensitive material, eg:

Send feedback to Apple:

More ability to restrict other users is a pretty frequent request (in various forms) so it's worth trying to move it up their list. Or call AppleCare.

  • Lock individual apps

There are apps for locking individual apps if iPad is jail broken, but I don't want to have to jail brake my iPad. I am trying to protect my grand kids for going to bad web sites.  I can hide Safari, Utube, but not other web browsers that I have down loaded.  I don't want to have to delete these and then reload them. Why can't Apple create this one simple app?

iOS is a sandboxed environment, so apps can't control other apps. If you have other browser apps downloaded then you can possibly hide them when your grandchildren are using it by setting an app age rating in Settings > General > Restrictions (some browsers 17+ age ratings due to which sites you could potentially go to).
If it's an iPad 2 or 3 then with iOS 6 in the Autumn there will also be new accessibility functions if you want to limit them to just the one app - from here :
It allows a parent, teacher, or administrator to limit an iOS device to one app by disabling the Home button, as well as restrict touch input on certain areas of the screen.

No third-party app can do what you want as those apps do not have access to iOS as a whole. They are (for the most part) sandboxed, and cannot directly access other apps.

  • HT201304 How to lock individual apps

How to lock individual app / how to add whatsapp in restrictions ?

You don't. The app developer would have to build that functionality into the app itself.

  • Logging-on in CC App or within individual apps not working?

Hi. Is anyone else having problems logging into their CC account from the PC CC App or within individual apps like Photoshop? I can log on here, so I know the account is active and I have the correct password. Thanks!

  • Is their a password app that can lock individual apps

    Hi there,
is there a password application that can lock individual applications on the iphone?

An app cannot control other apps. The only restrictions you can do are those within Settings that affect the built-in apps.

  • Is there a way to lock individual apps on iOS6 iphone 4S?

I don't want people going through my what's app, messages, photos, email.. if I lend the phone they have access to everything.
I don't want to use restrictions, or lock the whole phone, rather the individual app I want to lock.
Is there a way to do so without jailbreaking the phone?

As long as your device is set up to sync with iTunes you can update the apps in iTunes and then sync to the device. If you select the Apps section of your iTunes libray you will see a button at the bottom-right to Check for Updates. Click that, update, and sync.

  • Locking individual apps?

How can I lock single apps without locking the whole phone or jailbreaking my iphone using cydia and getting the lockdown app from thier web site?

As stated, you can use restrictions if it is one of Apple's apps, but you won't be able to access the app either unless you reset your restrictions.
Your only other option if this is critical to you is, as you seem to know, jailbreak the phone and install lockdown or a similar app. Just remember you have significantly reduced security on the OS in order to secure whatever app you want locked, but the tradeoff may be worth it to you.

  • Can i lock individual app on iOS8?

When i give my iPhone to someone i do not want them to open Photos/Messages/Whatapp or other personal apps. Can i lock them individually? so that when that app is clicked it should ask for passcode/touch id to open.

you can turn on restrictions which will let you turn off certain apps while the other person has your phone. this locks it with a restrictions passcode that will be separate from your lock screen password you can turn this on under settings>general>restrictions. once on it will allow you to set a code and turn apps off
I just looked at my phone - none of the apps OP is interested in restricted are available for manipulation through restrictions

  • Is there an app that controls individual app volumes?

I need to control the individual volumes of my running apps--not so much to fine-tune the volumes, but to mute specific apps. Rogue Amoeba's Detour was a champ at this, but it has been deprecated since the Intel switch. Is there anything else out there that can do the trick?

No. One app can't control other apps. There are some apps that do allow you to passwords protect that one app.

  • How can lock my apps like facebook

my parents gave me iphone and i am using many social apps in it but my brother opens iphone and mess with facebook and others apps ..i lock my iphone by passcode but when i open it he takes it for games and mess with  social app like facebook instagram and etc
can somebody tell me how to lock it or protect it

iOs does not provide the ability to lock individual apps. Some apps do
provide their own protection, but not all do. As far as I know, the FaceBook
app does not allow this protection. Can you set the FaceBook app to require
a password each time you log in?

  • Can you put a lock on apps?

    Hi there,
I was just wondering if there is any way of locking an app on my "ipad with retina display" which i purchased from the app store for example sketchbook express so only i can access it. i was wondering if i could lock an app via another app on the app store, is that possible?
    Thanks!

Due to the sandbox nature of how iOS programs work, one app cannot
control or affect another. Therefore, an app cannot lock another app.
As Diavonex stated, unless the app comes with a passcode lock feature.
    the app cannot be locked.

  • Hey is there an app that locks all your applictions?

I was wondering if there was a multi- lock app that locks certain apps like facebook, browser, bbm for BlackBerry q5? Iv looked in app world and there's only lock apps for media, pics and that's about it.

another symptom--after doing nothing but some light texting, she sent 30 mb of data in an hour.  That strikes me as being way out of line.
