App to reboot ipod touch 2nd gen

The button at the top left of my ipod touch 2nd generation is broke; therefore, I cannot turn my ipod off nor reboot. Probably could not get it turned back on if I were able to shut it off. So, I am looking for an app that will reboot my ipod. So far there does not seem to be such an app. Any suggestions? I would like to occasionally reboot this ipod. Trying to get more life out of this ipod as its out of warranty and the cost of repair is too close to price of a new ipod.

Apps can't change anything with the system, like rebooting it, that's why there's no app for that.
You can try let the iPod die, and then you connect to your Mac.

Memory errors prompted a wipe and restore of my 32GB iPod touch (2nd gen) system. The restore and subsequent reapplication of the 3.x upgrade produced a system without Nike+ software.

Hello, I have bought a used ipod touch for my son, 2nd gen and can not get any of the apps to download onto it. I do not get an error message or anything, when it syncs they just dont transfer over. I have the latest verison on itunes on my computer and the ipod is at verison 4.2.1. The only game that appears on the ipod is Angry Birds. Can anyone please help!!

The current version of Find my iPhone is not compatible with this generation ipod. I've scoured my Time Machine and Backup arcives, but they do not go back far enough to get me to a 2011 version of this app.

I am very disheartened with Apple. I have loved the iPod touchs up until now. It seems the iPod Touch 2nd Gen no longer download apps that work on the 4.2.1 iOS. I was just selling my wife on Apple products and now this has shut her and I down on all Apple products. I hope I am wrong but is Apple partaking in planned obsolesence? If so, planned obsolesence is not marketing and I will be looking at other brands when it comes to electronic devices. Don't despair Look at "Vintapps" in the Apple app store. It has tons of available apps for all those earlier ios devices. And you can download them right to your ios device. Many are free.

Be sure to keep backups of older software. Once an app is updated, the older version is no longer available to be downloaded from Apple.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I have an iPod Touch 2nd gen that is operating 4.2.1, and it no longer has App Store, or iTunes. This means that I cannot download any apps or even access music downloads. I have synced with the newest version of iTunes, and the App section is grayed so I cannot access it there either. Therefore, my Touch is reduced to an mp3 player, and I didn't pay for an iPod to just play music! Any suggestions??

Sounds like Apps have been restricted. Head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions and make sure they are turned off.

Ipod Touch 2nd gen. Backlight and App Problem

I bought an iPod touch 2nd gen. from a friend and it worked completely fine. But today, my iPod's backlight just randomly shut off. I can see the apps and everything works perfectly fine, the screen is just very dim. The iPod is jailbroken. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?? PLEASE HELP!
Also, another problem I am having is with apps. Some apps that I have had previously installed on my iPod and then deleted will not reinstall along with new apps I wish to install. I have tried installing them from iTunes on my computer, but that doesn't help either. If anyone has any answers to any of these problems, please help me.

Exact same problem. I bought my ipod touch 2nd gen last december.I have always kept it in a plastic case for protection. Then the other day the button wasnt responding very well, I thought it was because the case wasnt fitting correctly. So today the button stopped working completely. My local retail store elcorteingles¿ i live in spain? are useless, theyll tell me to call apple, but because my 90 fredays are up i have to pay probally which is stupid considering my ipod is still under warranty. I also have never dropped my ipod ¿it cost allot of money so obviously ive been looking after it)
So I gues the best option is take it to your local retail store (if their usefull) or in my case ill have to send it away for maintanance.

It used to be able to stream apps that supports Online Video Streaming , tried Restore a couple of times and it didn't help .

The ESPN Radio is basically a Paid radio station.Make sure you have enuff balance to stream a radio from your Iphone. .
Check if you required to open any ports on your router for ESPN Radio.
