App update description is missing - iTunes 12

I am using iTunes 12 with Yosemite.  A clean install.  Now App updates show up but the description of what was updated in the app is not there.  So I know an App needs updating but no longer know what they are updating in the App itself unless I go to the App Store.

same.  +1.  ditto.
using the "view in store" workaround too but i am not happy about it.
due to app devs yanking useful features, and adding ads/etc in the past, i read every word of every app revision, before i update my apps.
was easy enough to do before.  but this method is going to drive me nuts

  • App update descriptions no longer showing in iTunes 12.0.1

    Greetings,
Since updating to Yosemite and iTunes 12.0.1.26, the app update descriptions do not show.
Any app screen would look like this:
Main file info is readable, but no text about the update.
    Others having the same issue?

Same here - since updating to Yosemite (with iTunes 12.0.1.26).  I'm surprised it hasn't gotten patched yet.  I guess they're bundling several fixes before pushing out the first update to Yosemite.

  • How do I download app updates in the new iTunes?

A few apps of mine have updates that are too large to download via data and wifi on my phone has been broken due to water damage. I used to just go to "Apps" in iTunes, select "Updates," download all that were available and sync the updates that way. I cannot find ANYWHERE to download app updates in iTunes 11. Assistance?

At the top left is a dropdown where you can select what you want to look at eg Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books and Apps. Select Apps the check for updates button is bottom right.

  • App updates not showing on itunes since 12/12/2013

    Hi all,
Since yesterday, i cannot found any app updates on the updates section. I already press the check for updates button but itunes said that all my apps are up to date. However, if i open the itunes store. Some of the apps that i own shows that they have updates. But they are not found in the updates section. So until now i have to check manually for updates for each of my apps.
For further information. I Have only one apple id which i use for purchase, and all my apps are under those apple id.
    Any solution for this problem?

I found an article with steps you can take to further isolate and troubleshoot an issue like the one you described:

  • App updates not saving in itunes?

Running itunes 11.01 using lion on my Imac. I have itunes on an external hard drive if it makes a difference.    On itunes, it always says I have apps to update, about 150 of them.  I download them and then they reappear next time I reboot my computer.   Almost as if its not saving my updates after I download them.   They are the same apps too.   I sync a couple of my Iphones with icloud but there is also a couple I sync directly with the mac.  Does anyone have any ideas on why its not saving my app updates?  I don't have any issues syncing my apps with the icloud directly on my phones.

I finally figured out what the issue is.
On iTunes, I found in my list of apps a few apps that I had deleted on my phone but these deletions did not synchronize properly with the computer. Look closely at your list and find the apps that are no longer on the phone but somehow are still on iTunes despite syncing.
It seems iTunes is still looking for updated for these old apps and when any are available they appear as "Available Updates". iTunes is drawing its update query from this list. But then when you click on the updates button, none appear because iTunes also seems to know that these apps are no longer on your phone.
In other words: this is a bug. For whatever reason Apple has not bothered to fix this for months now.
Solution: Go one and by one and delete on iTunes the ones you no longer have. Presto!

  • Available App updates not appearing in iTunes

    Hello!
I'm using iTunes 8.1.1 (I'm avoiding 8.2 until problems with it are fixed). When I open iTunes, next to the Applications item in the Library column is a number indicating the number of updates available; when I click on that, I'm brought to the page that shows all my Apps, and they are all there. At the bottom right is the number of updates available; when I click on that, I get a screen that indicates that NO updates are available.
At the App Store on the iPhone, intermittently I see either all the updates that are available, or "All Apps are up to date.'
Can anyone help me to understand why iTunes first registers all the available updates but then 'loses' them?
    Thanks!

  • Apps updated on PC in iTunes not getting transferred to iPhone or iPad--problem solved!

Ever since iTunes 11 came out the apps that I updated thorugh the iTunes store on my PC were not being transferred automatically to my Iphone or iPad during the syncs; my devices would still show the red number next to the App Store app, indicating there were updated apps yet to be updated on the device.
I tried to solve this via Googling the problem, but solutions I found (reinstall the app, or click on "check for available downloads") were not useful.
So I called Apple tech support, and a Senior Advisor told me what to do: after updating the apps on my PC and connecting my device to my PC, click on the device on the left had column to highlight it, then click on the Apps tab. Most of the apps will display as either Install or Remove, but the just updated ones will say Update. Click on that option, then either Apply or Sync.

I found out where the problem is.  For whatever reason, after I reinstall the Windows and Itunes, the "Automatically install new apps" checkbox is unchecked.   I checked it and now it will auto sync the apps from itunes to the iphone now.

  • IPhone App Update - big Problems installing ITunes again

    Hello!
Yesterday I tried to Update to 4.02. ITunes loaded the big Update file with my small bandwidth within 1 hour. After that ITunes told me that the firmware-file was damaged. So I tried it again 3 times. The same.
I uninstalled ITunes, Quicktime, etc. Like a solution on the apple support website displayed. Then I loaded ITunes (64) again (I have Vista x64). The installer displayed that there is an error installing (without any idea what was wrong.
Then I decided to install my PC completly new. After that I installes ITunes again and got the same message. So I installed ITunes 9.0 what worked proper. I thought I could update via ITunes so that I finally have 9.2 installed.
The Updatefile was loaded, but after downloading the Updater sayed: wrong signature of downloaded file. ITunes will not be installed.
Has any of you an idea what this could be? The reason why I wanted to update is that my Iphone doesn't update any apps. It displays that I should connect via ITunes to get the updates.
Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany.

it seems that problem is with your computer,
and 'wrong signature of downloaded file' indicates problems
like virus infection, Bad Ram or Hard Disk, or bad internet connection.
so it's better to use another computer and other internet connection.

  • Can't update or uninstall, missing iTunes.msi file

I was trying to use homesharing, got iTunes messed up so that it wouldn't update. Now I can't update or uninstall...Get the message: "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unaccessable." Problem seems to be that the iTunes.msi file is not accessable?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • App updates not syncing.

This is odd, wonder of anyone has had this happen.
I always do app updates on my computer, not device. So today I updated, and the app updates aren't syncing to my phone from my MacBook pro (same problem with iPad, not syncing updates from my iMac).
When I do a sync, it seems to work fine.. Does a backup, syncs podcasts, etc. but no app updates.
    Weird?
iTunes is 10.6.3 if that helps.

I had the same problem. I don't know why iTunes is not keeping track of the new version but instead is still looking at the version that is now in the Trash. I was able to manually fix the problem however.
In iTunes, right-click on the App that is not updating and choose 'Get Info'.
If the location is shown as '.../.trash' then empty your Trash.
Right-click on the app in iTunes again and this time it will say it can't find the item and there is a 'Locate' button to click.
Navigate to your 'iTunes/Mobile Applications' folder and select the new version of the App.
When you've done this for all the Apps that won't update (I had 14), you can re-synch your iPad.

  • ITunes App Updates in Yosemite, no longer show a description of what's new in the app.

    Greetings.
I've noticed since upgrading to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) a few days a go, when you have app updates waiting in iTunes, if you click on an app's icon, there is no longer a description of what has changed (or is new) in the app.
Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there a fix?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
I'm having the same exact problem on my Mac as well. Its a bug and sadly Apple hasn't yet released a fix to it, but I'm also having an issue where iTunes says "Determining Gapless Playback Information". It's so annoying and I'm really hoping that Apple would read this and fix these problems.

  • App updates in iTunes 12

Can I get a simple answer to this question? Is it true that you can no longer get app updates (for your iOS devices) from within iTunes 12? In past versions of iTunes, app updates were announced prominently when you plugged in an iOS device to sync. There are "badges" on my iPhone apps now showing that updates are available and I can update them directly using the phone. But there seems to be no such function now in iTunes 12. It would seem a simple and basic function of iTunes isn't it? And if the feature is now removed, well at least tell us how the task is supposed to be performed.

Small correction: the date and version number are displayed, sorry for the mistake. The rest of the problem still stands, though, the descriptions of the changes are missing.

  • Itunes Store App Update dissapears

The Itunes Store App Update dissapears ,
now to update an app we cannot plug the iphone and update the app from the app store like in the past.
we have to update the app directly from the iphone ,
itune is missing a in itunes iphone app updater.

Hey. I solved the problem by erasing everything in my iPhone and setting it as new. However if you don't want to lose everything try erasing all content and settings on the settings. Then restoring it from a backup
