App update not working on iPad after multiple tries

Cannot get iPad to update apps after multiple update attempts.  iPad has 13 updates in list but none will update for "update all" attempts nor for individual all attempt.  When tap individual update shows "updating"but apps never actually update.

IOS 6 WIFI FIX FOR NOW!!!!!
The only quick fix for now is to reset your Network
Setting/General/Reset/Reset Nettwork Settings
Make sure you copy your password somewhere. I did so on  Notes so that i could copy and paste.
This will work for a while but the problem keeps coming back in a day or so but at least its a quick fix.
I have the problem on both my Iphone and Ipad 3 with IOS 6
The only other permanent fix is to go back to IOS 5 which I had back when I tried IOS 6 bata and had the same problem which I thought Applw would have Fixed.
Apple better get there act together or Android is going to Kick there *** SOON!

  • Apps update not working. Was before but latest updates won't load to update.

I have updates waiting to be loaded but when I click on the update tab, it is frozen and won't even bring up the list of what needs updated.  Just shows that I have 3 apps that need updates.Has been working until 2 days ago. Tried a restart but still the same issue.

You are not alone. these are just a few of the discussions going on right now about this. There must be a problem on Apple's end and they will have to fix it.

or it will not even start...Ive rebooted it a couple times and even did a factory reset and it still will not play

I would try and hold the power and home button down at the same time for 15 seconds or until device shuts off, then see if it works. If that does not work try resetting your device. If you do not want to reset it, contact Apple support.   make sure to back up everything on device!

  • App updates not working

I installed ios8.0.2 on my iPhone 5. Everything seems to be working well except I can't get my apps to update. I have 3 apps that need updated, I access the  update screen in the app store, select update all and the circles next to the app names start spinning like normal. But the just keep spinning and don't stop nor do they update. I've tried multiple times and continue to get the same result. My wife has the same phone, same software version, same wifi network and hers works perfectly. Any ideas on how to fix mine?

I took my iphone 5 to the Apple store to get the sleep/wake button fixed, it was a known issue that Apple fixed for free, they even replaced the battery for free which was great and I wasn't expecting them to do that. I told the genius about my issue with not being able to update apps or purchase anything from the app store and how the icons would just spin and never download or update. He tried several things on my phone and could not get it to update or download either. They gave me a loaner phone and downloaded the ios 8.0.2 in the store on their wifi network. After the install, we tried to update my apps and it worked. The tech told me to restore the loaner phone through itunes when I got home so I would have my apps, notes, email and the rest of my data loaded and ready to go. After I did that, my apps and downloads stopped working again. Finally, we stumbled on the issue, it was corrupt file on the back up.
Before fixing the issue, it's important to back up all of your files up on the cloud or you will lose everything. After backing up on the cloud, erase all content and settings on your phone, go settings>general>reset>erase all content and settings. After your phone is wiped clean, plug into whatever device you sync with  when prompted, choose set up as new phone. Do not use restore or you will just download the corrupted file back on your phone. After I tunes installs ios 8.0.2, you'll need to sync to reload your phone with apps, pics, notes music, etc., just as you did when it was new. All of your personalized settings, passwords and those kinds of things will all have to be adjusted as well. Once completed, plug your phone back in to the device you sync with and perform a new back up.
This will take care of the issue, the new back up will replace the old back up and gets rid of the corrupted file. Since I did this my phone works like new, apps and purchases update and download just as they should.

  • App Update not working-says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"

Hi, 3G S iPhone here, 3.1.2, with iMac on Snow Leopard.
I have the exact same issue Forrestranger has on my iPhone: I have free Apps which will Not update, and despite entering the correct iTunes Password (I'll prove this shortly), I am told I "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store".
I've read Forrester's thread, and I'm fairly certain this is not an ISP issue or wrong password issue. Here's Why:
    - I HAVE recently had Apps (I can't remember whether they were free,...sorry) that DID UPDATE successfully EVEN AFTER I entered the password and was told that I 'Cannot connect to the iTunes Store'.
Yes you read that correctly. I got the same message that seemed to halt things but then the App Update installed anyways.
I have written one of the App Developers too to see if they can help. I appreciate any ideas or tips here of course.
    Many Thanks, Frank B.

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again
If that doesnt work - go to Settings>General>Date and Time - set the date ahead by a few months. Try to update again. If you get an error message of any kind - go back and change the date and time to automatic again. Then try again.
If that doesn't work, restart your router and reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • ITunes 10.4 app update not working - iTunes downloads available app updates but without any effect - it doesn't update the apps in iTunes...

Since a few days I experience following issue when trying to download app updates for my iPhone or iPad
    - I click on get update or on 'Download all free updates'
    - iTunes successfully downloads the updates and seems to successfully process them
    - BUT the list of available apps to update does not change! And when checking the version of the apps that were to be updated, they are unchanged
    Any idea?

I had a similar problem. My iTunes didn't start automatically when I connected any of my devices after the upgrade to iTunes 10.4.1.
I found I had to add the iTunesHelper.app in System Preferences->Users & Groups under my account on the Login Items tab.
You have to navigate to it in finder, because I couldn't seem to do "Show Package Contents" on iTunes.app in the Applications folder from the file dialog you get when you hit '+'.
Once you have opened the package contents of the iTunes.app then the iTunesHelper.app is in Contents/MacOS. I just dragged and dropped into the Login Items window, then ticked it to start on login.
Note, this will only start it when you log in, to start it immediately just double click iTunesHelper.app in finder.

  • App update not working: Does not even begin to update

Since a day or two ago, I am having problems with my app updates on the iPad. According to the App Store, I have four apps that need to update. However, when I open the App Store and go to the updates tab, it does not list the apps that need to be updated. It also does not display the button to push to update the apps.
The problem is different from the others that I have read about online. It is not that it is stuck in updating mode. It does not even enter the update mode. All I get is the notice that I have apps that need updating.
I have done a reset to original settings, but that did resolve the problem.
Anyone else with same issue? Any suggestions for how to solve this?
    A.

I still have the same problem.I sent email to Apple support but still have not gotten a reply. My iPad App Store App now says I have 12 updates but when I open the app and go to update section it is totally blank. This  has been going on for the last five days. I cannot go to work around where you go to iTunes on your computer and  update and then transfer that to your iPad because my computer has been out for more than a month which should have nothing to do with the matter. Thus I still cannot update my iPad apps.
Anyone else have same problem or a suggestion?
    Thank you

  • 6.0.1 update not working on ipad 2

I have an iMac 27 and an iPad 2. I am trying to update to 6.0.1 and it keeps telling me that:
    1. It can't because of unknown errors (3014)
    2. When I try to update directly from my ipad, it tells me I am no longer connected to the internet.
    Any thoughts?
And I just updated to iTunes 11 and can't figure out to do anything on it anymore. Any good links of explanation out there?

Make sure your internets good. Then you can always redownload iTunes 11

  • App Updater not working on iMac

I have 260 apps and 125 of the apps have updates available, yet, when I click the updates available button, I keep getting an error that the server is busy and to try again later. It's been over a month. Is there something wrong with my database? If so, how do I fix it? On my iPhone, I can update without a problem.
By the way, this was happening in iTunes 8 as well as iTunes 9.
    Thanks.

You're welcome. I fooled with this for a few weeks before I stumbled on the solution. I suppose there is some way to allow app updates through the barrier, but I no longer use the it so I don't know.

  • Sound not working on Ipad after ios8 update

I updated to iOS 8.0.2 and the next day, while watching a TV show on my ipad, the sound completely stopped. I did a hard reset, thinking this would solve it, but it didn't work. Sound is not on mute. I tested out all apps that play sound, nothing was playing through the speakers; however, I can hear sound if I use headphones. I did the ipad reset suggestion I saw in a few articles, but still that hasn't work. Any other workarounds or am I going to have to go into the apple store?

    Hello jggarcia,
It sounds like you have done all the troubleshooting from the article below. I know it is for iPhone, but the troubleshooting is still the same. After everything that you have done, check with the article to make sure you did not miss anything and if it is still giving you issue, then I would recommend making an appointment with your local Apple Store’s Genius Bar.

  • IMessage & FaceTime Not Working on iPad after iOS 6.0.1 update?

I have an iPad 16GB 3rd Generation and whenever I try to sign in with my Apple ID to Messages and FaceTime it pops up with "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." I have tried so many things for this including resetting my network settings and creating a new Apple ID but my wifi connection works perfectly fine on safari etc but not on iMessage and FaceTime. Please Help?

Tried that already. It doesn't work.
The problem isn't that the app is frozen, it just blinks, then closes when you attempt to launch it.
Thank you for the suggestion, though. I appreciate your willingness to help.
I may try restoring my iPad tomorrow.
