App update on iphone vs on ipad

When I update apps on my iphone 4 I get a list on screen and can select multiple apps to update . on the ipad, I can only select them one at a time as selecting the first means the list disappears, and the display moves to the icon of the app being updated. Can I use the iphone protocol on the ipad as it is much more convenient?

- on the left choose "Applications"
- Now you see the List af all your applications.
- on the bottom-right you see a button named "search for updates"
Now all your Apps will be checked for updates.

If "No," first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

its possible that since the ipad version of the app is the version made for ipad and the one for phone is made for phone that they could be different sizes because they are programmed differently. Also possible that since they are this way one may have had more updates to it than the other so it may have more added data to the app than the other one

Not without a third party app. You can search the app store for apps that let you caption and write on photos but there is no native functionality for this in iOS.

iPhone 5 app updated fine from PC, but will not sync with iPhone.
Steps: Fire iTunes from PC, then connect iPhone, did app updates in iTunes, but did not sync with iPhone (the # updates stays the same next to "APP Store").
It worked fine for iPad App updates. I tried connect, disconnect, did not work. I also read some posted comments, but still cannot resolve the problem. Please help. Thanks!

You have to be signed on with the same Apple ID that you used when you purchased the apps.

I would connect each device to a power source, and then reset them by holding the power button and the home button until they turn off.
If it keeps happening, I would put the devices in recovery mode and restore them with iTunes.

When I connect to computer and update via iTunes and then sync then I get an error on all apps after they update and with some long error code. There is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPads, and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer.
All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer - all music, movies, tv shows, books, etc. and 3rd party apps.
Under the Apps tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, select Sync Apps and the apps you want installed on your iPad below followed by a sync.
