App updates asks for old apple Id?

I changed my email and then updated my apple I'd.  Have access to apple store.
Apps icon shows multiple updates, but when I try to update, it shows y old email address.  And asks for a password.
How do I change this to e new apple I'd?
Pat

If what marion suggests does not work, then you will need to know the apple id password associated with the app when you bought it.  I believe (but may be wrong) that the buying id is associated with the app forever. ( that is to keep folks from giving apps to each other)

  • Iphone app store asks for old apple id when i try to update apps

I recently reset my apple id. However when I try to update apps in my iphone it asks for my old apple id info. When I enter this in it states that the info is incorrect and needs to be reset. However when I download new apps the app store asks for my recently updated apple id info. When I have tried to delete the apps that need to be updated and buy them again, I was charged for the app. As a result I cannot update any apps. How can I fix this?

You changed it wrong. You should have done it this way:

  • App upgrade asks for old Apple ID

Apple made me change my Apple I'd and I put that into my iPhone 5, but it still shows my old I'd when I try to upgrade my apps. Any ideas?

Apps you purchased either fora fee or for free are forever tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.
To update apps you will have to sign in using the Apple ID that you used when you first bought the app.
For free apps, you can delete the app on your phone. Then make sure you are signed in with your new Apple ID. Finally download the free apps again, using your new ID.
You can also do this for apps you paid for but you will have to pay for them again.

  • My apps keep asking for my Apple ID password

  • Cannot update apps asks for old Apple ID

I recently had to use a different Apple ID ( I have 3) because one has an old email address I cannot access any longer. I updated on my desktop, IPad and IPhone but I see I have a lot of app updates I need to install but when I select the update for each app I get " Need to log in to the Apple Store" But the Apple ID that comes up is my OLD one. If I look on both my IPad and IPhone the Apple ID's are updated ( I did manually on both devices but in this case it always asks for my OLD PASSWORD to my OLD Apple ID.
How OD I fix this issue?

I have the same problem. Apple uses an email which I never used with any apple product.
It won't change the apple ID on my iPhone although everything just works fine on my mac...
In SETTINGS -> Itunes & App Store is the right Apple ID but as soon as I want to update my apps it says to sign in to iTunes Store with the wrong apple ID...

  • IPhone 5 Update for Pandora App asks for 'Old Apple ID' info...

Recently bought the iPhone5 and am very satisfied with it.  I do have one problem right now.  The app store is showing I can Update my Pandora (Music) App, yet when attempting this the Apple ID (that it asks for my Password for) is my Old Apple ID, not my Most Recent ID.  And my Current Password is not valid with this 'old ID'.  All other Apps are doing fine when I go to Update them.
    i.e.
App gives me option to input password:
    Apple ID > [email protected]
    Enter Password > Here
And my actual Apple ID is a different email address, not this old email address.
Other apps are doing fine with Updates, yet I think Pandora's App was the only App that I once had on an iPhone3 several years ago.  I think the App (this one only) is thinking I have the old email ID (Apple ID) and wants the old password.  Not sure what to do?  Thank you~  SanibelMan in Indiana / 5-24-2013

Currently having the same problem but with Instagram. It's been working fine up until now with current apple ID, so roaminggnome's explanation doesn't fit. I'm going to try Apple Support to see if I can get it fixed.

  • HT2589 App updates asking for apple id with wrong apple id

My husband is trying to update an app on his ipad and it is not only asking for apple I'd password, but it brings up my apple Id. We checked in setting and t shows his apple id. How can he update without signing in especially with my id.

You should be prompted for the password for the account that originally bought/downloaded the app. Have you tried typing in your account's password when trying to download the update - you shouldn't need to go into Settings and log out of his account and in with yours.
If it was definitely bought/downloaded with his account, then depending upon what the app is and whether it has any content in, then you could try deleting it and re-downloading it from his account.

  • App updates ask for a different Apple ID

    iPhone 6, White, 64GB, AT&T
    iOS 8.1.3
I backed up my phone yesterday before getting it replaced. I usually backup my phone on my elderly laptop but decided to use my girlfriends desktop instead. Once I got the new phone, I connected it to the desktop and authorized the computer to interact with the phone blah blah. Typed in my Apple ID information into the iTunes pop-up. Started restoring my phone and left it alone until it was complete. The next day, I went to update some apps through the App Store on the phone. It asked me to put in the password for an Apple ID but it listed my girlfriends ID. I went to the Features tab and verified that I was actually logged in with my Apple ID. I then went to Settings and checked iCloud and iTunes App Store and both listed my Apple ID.
If it matters, the backup was performed while the phone was on the previous iOS version, then was upgraded to 8.1.3 after it was restored.
What's the easiest way to fix this? Should I backup on the laptop and restore from there? I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The apps that are requesting updates that are showing that they want your girlfriend's Apple ID are apps that were downloaded using your girlfriend's Apple ID.  In other words, that copy of the app knows that it is associated to her Apple ID.
    You'll have to either:
    A) Use her password to update the app, and continue to use her password to update them in the future.
    B) Delete that copy of the app, then download a fresh copy of the app using your Apple ID from the App Store.

  • Swapped acc. now apps ect. ask for old info.

Changed my acc and signed out of my old one but when i go to update apps or download apps ect. It shows my old acc and ask for my old password... please help :/

If you've logged in with your new account then you should be able to buy new content with it - does your new id show at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on it ? If not then tap on it and log out of it.
But only your old account will be able to redownload and/or download updates to its app, and make in-app purchases in those apps. If you can't remember the account id then do you have any of its downloads on your computer's iTunes library so that you can select one of them and do 'get-info' (control-I) to look up the id (it should show on the General tab) ? If not then you could try http://iforgot.apple.com

  • ICloud Restore stuck - keeps asking for old Apple ID

    Hello,
I've just gotten a iPhone 4S that I want to restore from an iCloud backup (I've had a 3GS previously). Unfortunately I'm running into problems as the restore process just doesn't finish. Some settings are restored just fine (contacts, messages, browser history, ...) while others are causing problems. In particular the photos & apps are not being downloaded. Apps are recognized but just sit on my screen "waiting".
I suspect that the cause for all this is that the last backup is from March 2012 (my 3GS died then) and in the meantime I've changed my Apple ID. During the restore it keeps asking for my old Apple ID, which is not longer active & I cannot log into.
Now I'm stuck since the phone decides to set the iCloud account to the old one and this cannot be changed as it tells me that I cannot delete the iCloud account during a restore is in progress...
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Unforunately I don't have an iTunes backup and I really don't want to lose my data (especially the photos).
    Cheers,
    Florian

The solution to fix this mess was to temporarily change my AppleID name back to the one that was active when the iCloud backup was being made.

  • When downloading an app it asks for my apple ID password multiple times and never downloads the app

When downloading an app on my iPad 2, it asks me to verify my account info, and when I type in my password, it does nothing except keep asking for my password.  It is not incorrect when I type it in, it just keeps asking for the password.

Go into Settings > Store and make sure your Apple ID information is exactly as it is in your iTunes account on your computer.  Make sure your address is exactly the same.  For example if your in iTunes on your computer is 1234 Jackson Street, it can't be 1234 Jackson St., on iPad.  Make sure your credit card information matches exactly as well.

  • TS5223 Iphone asks for old apple id when trying to erase iphone

Hi i need to erase my old phone as i have a new one. When i go to erase it, it asks for an old apple id which i havent used in years! I have been using a different id for years.
I do not know the password to this account any more and when i click 'forgot my
Password' it must send the reset option to an old email address which i do not have anymore. It does not let me choose an email address to send it to and im not recieving anything. Also the security question which asks me my date of birth doesnt work for me either.
    Why!
Why cant it just be simple to erase my old phone. I have never even used this old account with this iphone.
It may have done this since i restored my
Iphone ready for the new phone?
    Please help!

Had apple support help me with this:
On your computer, go to appleid.apple.com, and sign in using your current apple ID.
Once signed in, change the primary email address to the one your phone is asking you for (ie. your old apple ID), enter the password you want to use for iCloud.
Go to your iPhone --> Settings --> iCloud.  Now you can enter the password for the old apple ID.  Delete the account.
Go back to your laptop, change the primary email address back to the current one. Now you'll be able to enter your current apple ID and password on your device -- should be good as new!

  • App updates asking for different email addresses

This is so annoying, certain Apps that require updates are asking for further security details. I have now used two different email addresses and now another App needs updating and this also requires further security questions, the problem is each this happens it won't accept the previous email address
It appears each time this issue arises, you need to have a different email address. Can anyone help, it's driving me mad

My husband and I both have iphone 3gs. iTunes on one home PC, there are two apps that he cant update cuz it asks for my password on his phone w/ my email already filled in. On iTunes I clicked on the apps and then FILE>Get info and I see that it says I was the original person to get app. But it never did this until maybe the last 2 updates he did for the phone. He thinks its all my fault of coarse. Can someone please help?
p.s. If he tries to download a new app, there's no problem.

  • My friend connects his iphone to my itunes for music but now when tries to download an app it asks for my email and password, how to fix this?

My friend connects his iphone to my computer because i have more music in my itunes library. when he disconnects it and tries to update or download new app it asks for my apple id and not his. Any way to fix this?

Stop letting him sync his device to your computer.
He has no legal right to any of the content on your computer.
Tell this friend to sync his device to his computer, this will remove all content that had been synced from your computer and replace it with content from his computer.
If he likes the media that you have, you can "gift" him some songs via iTunes or he can purchase it himself.

You should remove his AppleID and restore it as new.
