App Updates failed to complete.

Informed that iBooks and Kindle had updates I executed "Update All" in the app store. Both apps hung for days. I tried rebooting and home-reboot. Then I deleted both apps and tried to reload iBooks. It hung. Anyone see this before? What is the solution. -bc This occurred on my iPhone 3 3G. The iPad and Mac both updated ok. Oh, yeah. The iPhone is on 6.0, the iPad on 5.11.
-bc

So here is the deal: I would like to have a truthful answer published as to the actual status of this problem, and what the schedule is to get it fixed.

  • HT201364 Mavericks download from App store updates fails to complete

    Hi,
Mavericks download from App store fails to complete.  Error message explains system needs firmare update version 1.1.  A check on my updated software list says this update done.  Re-running it confirms firmware update installation succesful.  But Mavericks still says unable to complete download.  All guidance would be much appreciated.  thank you,
    Liz

    Hi Liz ..
You're sure your Mac can upgrade to Mavericks?  > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
Which OS X is currently installed?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
    The version is noted there.

  • My app updates are not completing...what can I do?

My app updates are not completing,
    what do I do?

One option is to update them in iTunes, then sync your device to transfer the updated apps.

  • Help App update failing to install

For some reason my iPad 2 iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) is having problems with the latest update to the Twitter App, taking it to version 5.12.  Whatever I do the App running on iPad continues to operate Twitter version 5.11.1
The update to 5.12 does appear. I click to download, it appears to download but it fails to install.  There is no error message to give a clue to the cause of this problem.
iPad has 8GB of available space. This is what I have tried so far ... None of which have solved the problem.
    1.  Completely closing the Twitter App and the App Store. Deleting the Twitter App, re-booting iPad and then reinstall from the App Store App, which displays under Purchased Apps, Twitter v 5.12.  Despite this it installs v 5.11 then offers the update, which appears to go through the motions of downloading and installing, but when I check the App it is still operating v5.11 as the enhancements included in v 5.12 are not there.
    2.  Checking the App Store App updates Tab shows Twitter v5.12 with an option to Open. Once again this only opens v5.11
    3.  I have tried deleting my Twitter Account and repeating this process, all to no avail.
    4.  I have also tried deleting the Twitter App from iPad, which should remove all of its data in theory.  Then going to iTunes on my PC, and  downloading version 5.12. Then syncing iPad with iTunes and installing Twitter from there, but it still stubbornly insists on running the previous version.
This is very frustrating ... I also have an iPhone, running iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) Twitter version 5.12 has installed on that with no problems.  I particularly like the picture previews which this update to Twitter brings and would love to have this facility on iPad too.
Is there a fix to this problem with the failing update on iPad?  Help appreciated.

  • Unable to restart after a Security update failed to completely download.

I was downloading a security update. It failed to completely download. When I tried to restart the computer, it will get up to the blue screen background of the user login page. It will not go any further. I tried using the >Shift< key to get it into a SAFE mode but nothing happens except the progress indicator revolves. Should it be revolving over 3 hours and still no progress is seen? Is there something else I can do? Is there Apple or 3rd party software that could perhaps fix it? Please help I don't want to start from the beginning and re-install everything.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
Try Disk Utility. You need your system restore disk.
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
One reason that an update can't finish is that you didn't use Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions before you ran the udpate. Second possibility is not enough free disk space. If you haven't upgraded the hard disk in your iBook, it probably has a 60GB drive or less. Never allow your free drive space fall below 20% of the total drive. This information can be viewed in Disk Utility at the bottom of the page with MacintoshHD 10.4 selected in the panel on the left.

  • SW app update failed

    Hello guys, what's up?
It's now 1 week I'm trying to update my phone softwares through "App Update" (Menu -> Applications -> SW Updater) but I get "Refreshing update failed. Try again later" everytime.
It's not my router or my internet provider 'cause other phones works normally as 5800 XM and N97
Looking on the internet, we can see N78 and N85's owners with the same problem.
    What is happening?
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards
    Rafael

@staicueduard: I have issues with Python 2.0 and my 5800 ... i see the update, but it fails to install it... since i had 1.9.7 installed i removed it and all dependencies... but it keeps failing... i know that if i hard reset it will install (because i've done it once) ... but i'm not in the mood to hard reset each time i need to go back to 1.9.7 because an application doesn't work with 2.0 and vice-versa
5800xm on a blender ... will happen sooner than expected.... v51 is a failure as an update .... v52 just postponed its fate....

  • App Updates failing to install

    Hi,
I had a notification that 2 app updates were ready to install from adobe cloud, and yesterday i installed them,(Premier Pro and Indesign). Today, there is a notification again for the same apps but when i pressed 'install all', it said the installation had 'failed'. It suggested to try again because the downloads appeared corrupted. Why is this and is there anything I should do?
    Thanks

  • AIR App Update fails with ApplicationUpdater (IOErrorEvent 2032)

I hope somebody can help me with this issue as I'm completely clueless of what could be the problem...
I've integrated the AIR ApplicationUpdater into my app and doing update tests but they fail if I download the update for my app and then press "Install" so that the app exits and tries to install the update. there I get the following message:
    Sorry, an error has occured.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
If I postpone the update install until the app is restarted, all works fine. This happens on Windows 7 as well as on Mac OSX. And I tried it too with uninstalling both AIR and my app and re-install it all freshly but this didn't help.
Here's part of the install log I'm getting:
[2011-05-31:02:51:30] Application Installer begin with version 2.6.0.19140 on Windows 7 x86

[2011-05-31:02:51:54] Application Installer end with exit code 7
... Anyone have any clue what could be the source of the trouble? It's very important for me that this all works flawless.

I am having this same issue. Have you by chance found a reason for this?

  • Why does every attempt at installing CC Desktop App (update) fail?

I have been with Adobe Creative Cloud for a few months but lately when CC says an update for the desktop app is ready for download it will nearly finish installing but always end in this dialog:  "We've encountered the following issues:  Creative Cloud desktop failed to install" or this one, "Administrator privileges are required to continue with the installation."

If you remove the cloud desktop app altogether do updates show in the individual programmes as that seems to use adobe update manager?
If adobe are going to insist on an internet connection then they have to get their back end system to be reliable. They can't claim it is our internet connections that are the issue when it is *only* their software that is problematic to upgrade. Everyone else's loads fine and updates fine. No fuss, no drama. Properly written installations allow admin authentication from a user account and work via firewalls. Even with the firewall off CC won't update the desktop version so I have uninstalled it completely and won't be reinstalling it until a proper version is released that works reliably.

  • CC app updates fail

Everytime I quit the CC connection, switch my user or restart my Mac running 10.8.4, CC tells me that there are 6 new updates. I click on "update all" and it seems to work just fine, no error messages or warnings, but after everything is done, none of my applications have a different version number and as soon as I restart the computer, the 6 updates pop up again.
I've tried quitting CC connections and restarting my computer, but still all updates are being installed over and over again: Illustrator, Bridge, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and InDesign in my case.
Additionally, whenever I shut down the computer, a CC warning message appears saying something like "shutting down will quit unfinished installations". But before that CC announced that all installations were completed.
Any tips on how to narrow this down to a more specific issue? Not being able to install updates is quite a problem, when those updates might try to fix my problems. ^^
    Thanks!
    Chris

  • After upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 apps updates fail

AAfter upgrading my iPad 2 with iOS 8.0.2, several of my apps will not update. Namely, Speedtest.net, Flipboard, Formula 1 and Google. The updates just stall and their downloads won't complete. They worked before the installation of iOS 8.0.2.  Now theif icons simply say "Waiting" and won't function at all.  Good strong wifi and rebooting iPad have not fixed this.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Have you tried updating them one at a time? If that doesn't work, then update them in iTunes on the computer you sync with, delete the apps from your device, and then sync the updated ones to it via iTunes.

  • App Update Failed then App Store Says Not Available

I just attempted to update my iMac with the latest versions of Safari, iPhoto, Aperture, etc.
The files downloaded but the installation then failed.
I have checked the version number of all the affected Apps and confirmed that they did not update (e.g. Safari is v6.0.1, not v6.0.2).
When I return to the App Store, however, it says no updates available.
I found in a CNet article (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57530446-263/fix-corrupt-mac-app-store-down loads/) a recommendation to delete the cache so that the App Store updates reset. I have tried this but the App Store still shows 'No Updates Available'.
I know I can use the Apple download site to obtain some of the updates, but not all of them are available there e.g. Safari.
    Any suggestions?

Just in case anyone arrives here with a similar issue, I wanted to post that the problem has fixed itself. When I relaunched the App Store one day after encountering the issue, the Updates had reappeared.
I was able to successfully download and install them.
Clearly there is a time lag before the Updates reset after a failed download or install.  I am sure there is a file that can be deleted or edited to accelerate this, but I have not yet found it...
