App updates in a waiting state for 3 days....!!!

Since upgrading to IO 6, I have several App updates and all have been in a waiting state for multiple days. Not one has loaded.

The credit card on my accoutn has expired , so I have to enter another credit card information in the Settings>General > Store .
Now I am able to install the apps , my compalin is that I should have got a message about the credit card while trying to install the apps , rather than that apps just disappearing without any message .

  • Several apps have been in 'waiting' mode for days

Just got iphone last week. I am trying to download some apps, eg ' angry birds rio,' i purchased it about  5 days ago, and ever since in has been on the screen as 'waiting'

Your account was probably unavailable. If you restart, that should make them go away and then you can redownload them, and make sure your info is correct.

  • App Updates are Stuck Waiting

All of my app updates are in waiting mode with no progress in days.  I touch one (Keynote) and the phone shows "Waiting..." and then the message comes up "Unable to Download Application."  "Keynote" could not be downloaded at this time.
    1) I am on WiFi, browsing works fine, have confirmed connected.
    2) Does the same thing on all apps.
    3) I hit update all over a week ago, and every app is not not accessible because it thinks it is being updated, even though stuck
    4) Power Off/On many times
    5) Hard Reset (lock button + home button until Apple logo)
I had this problem on my iPad 2 recently as well.  I reset:
    1) Reset All Settings -- did not fix
    2) Erase All Content and Settings -- this did fix it.
The problem is that "Erase All Content and Settings" forces me to re-download all my apps (200 or so), and none of my folders are preserved.  I have to then spend hours re-building all my folders, or have my apps randomly on 7 or 8 screens.  I would really prefer a solution where I do not have to go to this length to get it fixed.
    Any better ideas?

    Any other ideas?
If I backup my phone, then "Erase All Content and Settings," will a retored backup put all of my apps back into their folders?

  • I have app updates that have been downloading for 3 days? I just updated to IOS the day prior.

I have app updates and the purchase of a new app downloading for at least 3 days.  I uploaded IOS 6 the day prior to trying to update these apps.  Help, please.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply -- I now can stop worrying about trying to learn how to delete the previously downloaded updates from the update screen.

  • App updates stuck on "waiting"

I have tried to update multiple apps on my ipod touch, but every time it goes to start downloading it just stay on "waiting." No matter how long it is on the app still just stays on waiting. I restarted my device, but I do not believe that the app actually updated correctly, and it does not show up anymore in my available updates. How do I get the updates to stop stalling on waiting forever?

No, that is not the case. These are apps that I have updated before. There is no reason for the update to stay on waiting for 5 or more minutes. Installing is what takes the longest and I'm not talking about that. I click "update", put in my password, then the app just goes to waiting. It is just sitting there on my device doing nothing. This is a new problem I have found that many other users are also experiencing. I am not letting my device disconnect, these apps are not downloading, they are just freaking WAITING!

  • Why do app updates no longer show up for me in iTunes?

Please don't stop reading, because I think my issue is different from similar ones I've found posts about.
For the past week or so, I've been unable to update apps through iTunes. When I click "Check for Updates," it shows "Accessing iTunes Store" at the top of the screen, but after it finishes I never get a dialog box -- neither the dialog box saying there are new updates nor the one saying there are not. Also, I don't get the notification in the left hand column next to "Applications" that normally shows how many app updates are available. The latter point is what seems to distinguish my problem from the other posts I've seen, in which push notification seems to work but updating fails. I can't even see any updates in the first place -- and this occurs even when I can see from using the App Store on my iPhone that I have multiple updates available. And I have a lot of apps.
I should add that this is especially mysterious because it is the only problem I am having with iTunes. I can still download NEW apps from the iTunes App Store, sync my iPhone, download podcasts, etc. I can also update Apps on my iPhone itself. My internet service is working fine. This problem began with the previous version of iTunes and has continued in iTunes 8.1.
One final confession. A few weeks ago, I went through my Apps folder and deleted the non-current versions of all of my apps, hoping to save space on my old computer's hard drive. I don't think this is the cause of the problem, because app updating continued to work for a few weeks after that. But I mention it in the interest of full disclosure. But in addition to my main question, I'd be interested in knowing if this is a bad idea for future reference.
I am running iTunes 8.1.0.51 on Windows XP Home edition (SP 3), and I have a first-generation 4GB iPhone.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks very much!

ell, exactly same problem here: could not have been described better. It all started when I noticed that I could no longer update iPhone apps. "Applications" folder under Library showed such updates awaiting downloading: I could not get any further.
AND SUDDENLY, for no reason, the "Application" in iTunes "Library" disappears! No folder visible, no apps listing, no updates mentioned. Wow!
i had contacted Apple's iTunesStoreSupport in regard to the initial incident, and was kindly informed that:
    +"Dear Roger,+
+Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support for assistance. I understand that you are receiving intermittent connection errors using iTunes 8.1.+
+Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.+
+Thank you very much for your patience, and I am sorry for any delay in enjoyment of your iTunes experience. Finding a solution for you is important to me.+
+Remember, we wish your iTunes experience to be truly enjoyable. Take care, and thank you for being a valued iTunes Store customer. Your business is most appreciated.+
    +Best regards"+
I thus figured that in some way "all was in control"... Until the Applications forum disappeared. Apps gone??? Are they stored somewhere on my Mac??
I have just emailed an update incident report to iTunesStoreSupport with screen prints to show abrupt, undesired change.

  • I have been having issues with Firefox lately. A thread is in wait state for minutes eating up CPU. More info available.

When Firefox seems to hang, I usually cannot do anything else but wait until the process has completed whatever it is doing. I am reasonably sure it is a firefox process as it is reported by the wait state analysis.

It would help to know more about your iMac.
What year, screen size, CPU speed and amount of RAM installed?
How full is your Mac's hard drive?
How many applications do you run simultaneously in the background while working in another application?
Do you run any antivirus software on your Mac? Antivirus software can slow down the normal operation of OS X.
Do you run any "crapware" like Mackeeper or any other type of so called hard drive "cleaning" apps?
Have you downloaded and installed anything recently that might have caused the erratic behaviour of your iMac?

  • IPad 2 app updates frozen on waiting

Saw update notices in app store on iPad 2. Until today downloads worked fine. Today, two attempted updates are stuck "waiting".
Going back to app store shows "update" (like I didn't try download). Turned pad off and on and still find the two individual apps "waiting."

    No.
Also, note that I am doing this with a wireless connection at a hotel in Mexico. Though connection is a bit slow, I am sendin/receiving e-mail just fine. One of the apps I am trying to update is the s.f. Chronicle, which I was reading earlier this a.m. Could it be that somehow the hotel is blocking downloads (how could it differentiate?)

  • IPhone3 - app icons frozen in"waiting" state!

Have iPhone 3G.  Was trying to update a few of my apps. I now have seven app tcons in a frozen " waiting..." for the last three days! Can't even delete them - i tried! I reset & tried restore - no lunck.
It's like in the download process it got stuck!!! Can't delete them & try again.
Any suggestions to deal with this!

    From Karen Spann;
"Here's what worked for me..  I had several apps hanging ( waiting to update ) on a iPhone 5.
    1) UNGROUPED any apps that are grouped into single icon ( here may be a named for this )
    2) select the app, it will clear
    3) return to the Apple Store app and "update" your apps"
This worked for me. I had Angry Birds Star Wars grouped together with several other games.
    I could not update it.
I ungrouped the App. Selected it on the home page.
And it was able to update.
    Thanks Karen!

  • Why my apps are on the waiting since 2 days?

I have been waiting for my new apps since 2 days, the iconis saying waiting and nothing is going on till now, although my connection isok and I can browse and receive emails

You probably have to many apps running in the background
    Connect to wi-fi if poss
Press the home button twice quickly
Press and hold one of the apps that should have appeared along the bottom
A negative sign should appear on wobbling apps
Press and hold negative sign until app disappears (don’t panic - you won’t delete the app)
    Press home
App that is waiting should download now

  • App updates just keep waiting and waiting....

I just restored my iphone 4. Updated to 4.2.1 Now, every time I update an app it just waits and waits. I have reset the phone. re-synced the phone. Powered it on and off. Powered off ignoring the slide bar. Still, it just starts the spinning wheel and the apps stay in wait mode. Any solutions come to mind?

Same problem. I'm losing apps to "perpetual waiting mode" everytime there is an update. Same applies to new apps that I purchase. Any solutions out there?

  • My new apps are sitting trying to download for days they just black

MY new apps are sitting on home page just black.  Waiting on my mini ipad

If you don't have a backup make one now of all your own data, you can just drag your Documents folder to another disk, assuming that is where you keep your own data. Then erase the disk with Disk Utility by booting up holding cmd-r. Choose Disk Utility > Erase tab from the screen that is presented. Then install from your SL disk.

  • I bought the mountain lion app and i have been trying for days to install it someone help i am going crazy up in here!

I bought the mountain lion since last week and have been trying for hours to install it but i am not even getting to install it someone HELP!!!

I wonder, if you may want to clean up your system first. You could try to scan and repair permissions on that machine, make sure no disc errors, and also do a final pram reset. Then try to re-install again.
If the install still halts, then re-download the installer.
