App updates not deleting after download.
iTunes has stopped deleting app updates after they have been downloaded. I now have 25 apps to download everytime I get a new update. Can anybody help me solve this. I'm on latest version of iTunes 10.6.3 and OSX 10.7.4

Since a few days I experience following issue when trying to download app updates for my iPhone or iPad
- I click on get update or on 'Download all free updates'
- iTunes successfully downloads the updates and seems to successfully process them
- BUT the list of available apps to update does not change! And when checking the version of the apps that were to be updated, they are unchanged
Any idea?I had a similar problem. My iTunes didn't start automatically when I connected any of my devices after the upgrade to iTunes 10.4.1.
I found I had to add the iTunesHelper.app in System Preferences->Users & Groups under my account on the Login Items tab.
You have to navigate to it in finder, because I couldn't seem to do "Show Package Contents" on iTunes.app in the Applications folder from the file dialog you get when you hit '+'.
Once you have opened the package contents of the iTunes.app then the iTunesHelper.app is in Contents/MacOS. I just dragged and dropped into the Login Items window, then ticked it to start on login.
Note, this will only start it when you log in, to start it immediately just double click iTunesHelper.app in finder. -
App updates not disappearing after updating
I definitely didn't have this problem before iOS 7: after I update an app on the App Store on my iPhone 5, the update doesn't go away. It will stay there with 'open' instead of 'update', but stays there for good. Any help?
Greetings, iinami, I also had the same issue on my iPhone under iOS 7.0.4, but I found a solution to clear out those dozens of App's purchases which clutter the Updates' window, and they would not go away even after you had already opened the update.
This procedure worked on my iPhone, you may want to give it a try:
1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time;
2. Turn off "Set Automatically";
3. Click on your date and time (displayed in blue);
4. Set the Month/Year to a year from today (say: "Jan 26, 2015")
5. Exit Settings
6. Now check your App-Store Updates' status
Voila!
You can set your Date & Time back to "Set Automatically". Those Apps will not re-appear.
I have just found this out while I have not had an update since. So, I am not sure, but I have a felling that this will recur on my next update and the next, and so on.
This is either a bug or Apple has set the updated app to go away on a timer. What a waste of time for Apple and for us.
Perhaps Apple could use a little of "if it isn't broken don't fix it!".

App updates dont disappear after downloading them.
Anyone else having the issue where you download the updates to your iPhone/Touch apps and they are still showing up in iTunes? Just started happening with this last iTunes update.
My problem isn't new updates, it's old ones...
App updates currently replace the old versions and move them to the Trash as they should. But the Mobile Applications folder in iTunes has some multiple versions of App updates. What's there is the new update and older versions with 2008 dates. (Maybe pre-3.x software?) I guess it's not a big issue, but, like you, I wonder why older updates haven't been thrown out. Can I just Trash the old versions? -

It says I have an app update, so I update the app. But then it STILL says I have the same app update to do and dont know how to get rid of the (1) that hovers on the app.I also have the same problem. It started earlier this week. It's always the most recently updated app that gets 'stuck' and iTunes thinks that it needs to download an update even though the update has already been downloaded and installed. Yesterday it listed an update for 'Trip Advisor' even though I had already downloaded and installed the update. This morning the same update was still showing. However, when I clicked 'check for updates', iTunes found other apps that required an update. It downloaded those and then 'Trip Advisor' disappeared from the list of updates and instead now the latest app to be updated is now stuck in 'update available' mode. Very frustrating. I have tried completely deleting the impacted apps and then re-downloading. Doesn't help.
I'm hoping this is a bug on the iTunes store and that they fix it soon. I'm using the UK iTunes store.

Updates not completing after downloading
Hi All
After d/l software updates the computer starts to the reboot process but stops at the window saying " checking configuration". It then freezes at this point and will not respond (left over night thinking it was a slow process, but to no avail). I am pretty new to Macs so I need help please.

I received notification in my iPad's App Store that new updates were available. I selected Update All, and they were all applied successfully. However, when I returned to the App Store all the update icons were still there even though the updates were applied - what's up with that? PS I'm running iOS 7. Thanks for Help on this one!
That seems to be a new thing. I actually like it, because it has the date of the update and includes a description of what was IN the update. I can't tell you how many times I've applied an update and then wondered... what were the new features again?

My Pages App will not open after I recently updated it. I'm afraid to lose all my docs if I delete the App and re-install.
First of all - you are running the proper iOS in order to use the latest version of Pages - correct? You need iOS 6 now.
If so ....See if this helps. Maybe Pages will open after you try this.
Quit the Pages app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or ..... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that didn't help backup and send your files into iTunes with file sharing.
You could lose all of your files if you delete and reinstall the app. That is precisely why you should backup your iPad and send your files into iTunes using files sharing on the iPad. Do you backup or use file sharing?
Backup your iPad, send the files from the iPad into iTunes using file sharing and then delete the app and reinstall it.

Since updating to latest iOS safari fails several times a day.
1. Just quits.
2. The items on the reading list will not delete after visited.
3. The screens goes grey when I go to email a reference.
Is the a solution other the restarting the iPad or is this something apple ought to fix?See if the following help.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

Hi, cant update IO6. After downloading the update and processing it through Itunes on my mac.... and I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4S. Cant update the software. Waring message is say this devise is not eligible for build. Please help.
Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

My iPhone is downloading an odd email here and there that doesn't appear on my iMac mail at work.Just read an email on my iPhone that I received at 6.00 this morning.checked my iPhone settings for mail,delete after download is off so not sure whats wrong.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can you do setup an unread mail folder that shows all unread mail regardless of what folder it really is in on the iPhone mail program somehow?

I have installed an app : Birdfield guide in my iPhone 4. But the app is not working after installation. It shows black screen when opened. I need suggestions to make it work or the reasons for not working.
Yes TeeKnows, try deleting it and download it again. After finished installation if still shows black screen delete it out off 'running apps' by double tapping the home button and swipe it off. If still shows black screen then try fully turning off your iPad (holding the sleep button) and turn back on again.

When I updated my Nokia C3-00's firmware from version 4.60 to 7.20, the responsiveness of the Ovi apps (Facebook and Twitter) is much better compare before, BUT, when I am opening the Nokia Email app, is freezes into "Loading Mail" status for almost a minute... Any problems with my update?
I properly connected this to my PC and it updated without any interruption... And some 3rd party apps is not working after updating to this version (I guess those few 3rd party apps doesnt know there is incremental update you provided for this model except Snaptu which is working now)

Nokia new firmvare version i.e 7.2 currently block 3rd party software downloads.It only supports applications from ovi store.There is an installation process going on in ovi when we download an app which make it usable.so if you want to use a third party app all you hav to do is download it to pc then just copy that app to your memmory card or to phone memory which will work

But yesterday when i requested for new internet setting i found in its items supported list, settings for nokia visual radio,nokia communities,nokia mail etc i set it as my configuration and used mail.At that time it was working.So you all want a propper internet settings containing settings for nokia mail to make mail app to work.Or you can configure it manually like you do on office outlook.
