App will load when connected to library?? I can't connect to library.

Why do I have to connect with my library to load apps. I bought the iPad so I wouldn't have to deal with that hunk of junk. Oh well, my question is when and if ever I can get connected to my library will it automatically download those apps for me? Also, I purchased those apps when they were on sale for free, will I get charge what ever they are priced at the date I finally get connected to my library or just the price of the purchase?? Is there a way around connecting with the library? Or a cheap $50 item I could pick up to store my library and do updates for my library and iPad? Thanks

Your post is very confusing. I really don't want to give you incorrect advice, but at the very least, if you answer my questions/responses, maybe someone can offer more help.
You can download apps from the apps store directly from your iPad. I am assuming that you are connected to the Internet. Are you?
Your library - meaning your iTunes library?
You purchased free apps? If they were free you did not buy them in the first place. If you did purchase apps you can download them again without having to pay for them.
Your can sync content automatically when you are connected to iTunes if you set it up to do so.
You state that you bought an iPad so that you won't have to deal with that hunk of junk anymore. Are you referring to your PC? You still need a computer to sync your content, back up your iPad and download any software updates that may be released.
A $50.00 item to store your library? You need a computer to store your "library". You sync your content to iTunes where your "library" resides. Even in the Windows world I think $50.00 is a pipe dream so you may need to invest a few dollars for a reliable computer that you can sync to.
You can't connect to library? As I said earlier, I assume that you have an Internet connection or you can't download apps at all - even to your "hunk of junk". You have to connect your iPad to your computer in order to sync and you must connect to your computer in order to set the iPad up before you can use it at all.
Please explain your problems more clearly so that you can get the help you are seeking.

We are trying out Comcast for 30 days. We already had Uverse so right now we have both. When connect via Uverse everything works fine on my iPad as always has. Internet access, apps load etc. when I switch over to the Comcast wifi, I can access internet just fine. Sped test are all hella fast. But for some reason a few of my apps/games won't load. for example I have a price is right bingo game. It will not load when connected via Comcast. I get an error that say it won't connect and to check my internet access. and my internet access will be working fine. If I switch back over to uverse the game will load. There are a couple other apps doing the same thing. Anyone seen this before? I have an iPad Air 2 on iOS 8.1.2

I understand that you are unable to use your internet based applications when connected to the Comcast network only. I would recommend making sure that this Comcast network settings are updated to the recommend as outlined below. Also make sure that all firewalls are disabled as well.

For the App Store icon check Settings>General>Restrictions. You may have restricted the installing of apps and the icon will disappear.
If that's not it, swipe from screen to screen as you may have moved the icon.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
More information is needed about the apps not syncing or downloading. Are you signed into the same ID on the iPad as your are using in iTunes on your computer and are you talking about iTunes on the computer being the problem?

Updated iOS 6, now now apps will load

Hi all,
I recently updated to iOS 6 on my iPhone 4S (32gb). Since the update, absolutely no Apple apps will load.
This includes:
Mail
App Store
Maps
Itunes
When I click on the app icon to open, it comes up with a white box and says "loading".. and that's it. It never loads.
My phone worked perfectly before the update.
Anyone know why this is happening?

Forgot to add, when I try and use Safari, it takes forever to try and load the website, fails and displays the message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".

Try doing a hard reset by Holding the Sleep/Wake button(top) and home button together until the apple logo appears. If that doesnt work, then restore your phone using itunes.

Go to the App Stor and download an app- any free app will do, it doesn't matter.
Doing this usually "resets" your device's "app awareness" and you should be able to run any app with no problem.
And no, you don't have to keep that free one you just downloaded. You can delete it if you don't want it.

Thanks. I can change the forwarding settings in Gmail to be either POP or IMAP. That is quite simple. I just looked at those settings on the Gmail server and, to my surprise, both are enabled. In order for outlook client on my computer to receive IMAP emails I have to change the email account settings in my current outlook from POP to IMAP. I don't need to be using the Exchange version of Outlook to receive IMAP. I guess I'll do a little research tomorrow on Exchange so i can figure out what, if anything, it might do for me.
I glanced at the link you sent me and it looks like it might be very helpful - another project for tomorrow.
BTW: I hit "This Solved my Question" by accident. I meant only to "like' your response so you would get some benefit from the help you've given me so far. I hope I haven't discouraged others from taking a shot at helping me. I suspect there is more than one way to approach this and, as you know, my problem isn't really solved until I have what I need all set up and running smoothly.

How do i prevent removed apps from syncing when connecting to iTunes

I've "removed" apps from my iPad to free up space but when I connect to my computer, the apps "appear" to still sync.
To the upper right of the screen, it will show there are 65 apps (I removed 20 apps). These are active apps and that is correct When I click on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (the Apps section), it shows there are 85 apps taking up space on my iPad.
Also, where the apps are listed, the apps that were "removed" from my iPad air have an option to "Install". I don't understand why they're still syncing. TIA for your help!

This does not help but it does offer some insight. I have NEVER noticed this before. Take a look at the dialog box in the is screenshot. Note that it says that even if the app is deleted from the iTunes library, it will not be removed for any iOS devices when you sync.
As an experiment, I deleted the AOL On app from my iTunes library and followed the prompts to put the app in the trash - not keep it in the mobile sync folder. I synced my iPad - and the app is still on the device even though it does NOT appear in my list of apps in iTunes when the iPad is connected and selected. I have never seen that happen before.
If the app is not in your library, I always assumed that it would be erased when you sync since it is no longer in iTunes. I deleted the app in iTunes and then deleted it on the iPad and then synced again and now it is gone everywhere.

My web pages aren't loading when connected to the internet through Ethernet cable?

Yesterday my web pages stopped loading on Safari. I tried loading them on google chrome and had the same problem. I then deleted all saved web site data and reset Safari but this still didn't solve the problem. Finally I restarted with safe mode, where the web pages loaded, but slowly, however when I restarted normally the web pages still weren't loading or partially loading. To test whether this was my computer or the ethernet cable I was connected to, I connected to the wifi at my university, where the web pages loaded perfectly. Plus, when connected to the ethernet cable I could Skype, use Spotify etc., it is just the web pages that are causing a problem. Any suggestions how I can fix this? Thank you!

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a few minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Safari Page Won't Load When Connected to Plasma TV as Monitor

I am a new Mac user and was hoping someone could help me with this issue. I have a MacBook Pro 13" laptop running Mac OS X (10.6.2) and the latest version of Safari (4.0.4) and when I connect it to my Plasma TV using the displayport to DVI adaptor, Safari pages never load. It just shows loading and finally gives an error stating that the server can't be found. If I immediately unplug the external display and reload the page, it loads fine. All other applications function and display fine. The resolution of the monitor is 1024 x 768. I have also connected the laptop to my HP 20" monitor using the same connection and everything works fine. Its resolution is 1280 x 800. My ISP is Comcast and it is being delivered using a linksys wireless router. Does anyone have any insight as to why this is happening or what I am doing wrong? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

ITunes does not load when connecting iPod Nano (4th Gen)

I have my iTunes settings 'disable automatic syncing for iphones and ipods' unchecked, and in my iPod settings i have 'open iTunes when connected' option checked, and iTunes still does not load. How do I solve this?

First, I would try resetting your device to see if that alleviates any of the issues you're encountering:

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Reminder app stop working when connecting it to iCloud

The reminder app suddenly stopped working. I can start the app but it doesn´t show any reminder list. I´m not able to show the main window with ⌘+0. This first happened to me under Mountain Lion. After upgrading to Mavericks everything seemed fine again and worked flawlessly. After a couple of weeks the same problem occured again. The only solution I have come up with yet is do disconnect Reminder app from iCloud reminders. After doing that I can start the app again it seems to work fine, without the reminders in iCloud though. I have tried to reinstall Mavericks but with no luck. Is there any solution for this problem available or is this a know bug which will be corrected anytime soon? I use the Reminder app all day at work so now this is very frustrating to me not being able to trust this app.

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library/com.apple.quicktimeplayer.plist. Then go to Preferences. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Since updating my OS, none of my apps will load back onto my phone. They all say "waiting." I've tried to syn it a few times, but no luck. Any ideas?

Since updating my fiance's phone to iOS 5.0.1 all of his apps are sitting on his phone "waiting" to install fully. I have tried to sync it a few times, and no luck. When he upgraded, it was using his Itunes account on someone else's computer (he was out of town on business). Is that why we're having an issue? How do I get this corrected? Not having a fully operational iphone is no fun!

I Definitely considered that, but the same exact thing happened with another app of mine before this. I didn't think much of it and assumed it was just a bad connection, but every other app worked. It was my parents wifi that my family guy app would get stuck and stay on the loading screen, but every other app I had had no trouble connecting to the wifi. Mine and my boyfriends wifi is the one that the pool app gets stuck on the loading screen, but everything else works. I mean the apps that are having trouble connecting work perfectly on 3G, but I have limited data so I can't use it all the time. It feels like the two situations are too similar to just be a coincidence, but I can't think of anything it could be.
