App will not start update

Esquire magazine app will not start. There is an update. I tap it to download, it goes to the revolving circle for a second and then reverts to the update button.
Esquire also has an app for the iPhone. I'd like to download it, but the exact same thing happens when I tap the download button on my iPhone.
Other apps have been updating and downloading correctly on both devices.

It may be worth getting in touch with the App Developer regarding this in the first instance. You can get their details from the App page for the app in question. As this is happening on both iPad and iPhone it's likely to be a bug in the app.

Settings (and other Apps) Will Not Start (Metro)

This morning most Modern Apps will not start on my system, including the Settings app. It seems to be a DCOM failure and seems directly related to this old thread.

This is a current Windows 8.1 installation, full up to date on patches, and the problem still occurs after rebooting. I checked for newly installed patches, etc. and the only thing recent was the Windows Defender definitions update.
It's an i7 with 32 GB of RAM, fast SSD's etc. I don't believe this is a hardware problem in any way.

That matches almost exactly with the referenced thread. But that thread never seemed to give a set of steps to resolve the issue (other than doing a Refresh which would be a catastrophic waste of time, reinstalling my whole development environment).
I really would appreciate some help resolving this issue. If I'm in the wrong forum, please move or suggest a more appropriate place.

MSI Gaming App Will NOT Start

If this is the wrong forum I apologize, I didn't see any other place for topics about MSI software.
When my PC starts, the MSI Gaming App doesn't start automatically, I have to manually start it by double-clicking the icon on the desktop. However, it is a crap shoot if the program will even run; usually it doesn't and I have to completely restart my computer and cross my fingers. I've re-installed, updated, etc., but it keeps doing this. Any help would be fantastic.

Are you mixing RAM?
Did the software ever worked before? Try to uninstall it (Programs&Features), remove any folders and registry files that Gaming App have made (you can also use CCleaner to clear registry errors). Then reboot and try to install+run Gaming App again. What was the version you have tried? From the CD included with the card or from MSI website? If possible, tell exact version.

Front Row & Leopard - app will not start via remote or via Applications

I recently upgraded to Leopard. Front Row does not start via either remote or the Applications folder. I get "Application Front Row quit unexpectedly" dialogue box repeatedly. Anyone else seeing this? What can I do? I get the following Report:

I would suggest you use the Accounts System Preferences to create a new user. Log out and log in as the new user. Does the same thing happen to the new user? If so, you have a system-wide problem that may require re-installing Mac OS X. If they don't encounter the same error, then there's some preference or setting in your user's folder that's causing the problem. I'm not really sure, but the "missing image" line at the bottom would seem to me something that might require you to re-install Mac OS X...

App will work in airplane mode but cannot sycn any fixes coming?

My pages app will not download updates

I am having a problem updating my pages app, I have version 4.3(1048), I am running mavericks, and ever since upgrading Pages doesn't want to upgrade automatically. Maybe I should uninstall Pages and down load a new version from the App store ?
Anyone with advise please help....

I would advise you to work with the old verson of Pages, ie the '09 4.3.
It seems to be giving users less problems than the Pages 5, which is free to users of '09.
Let Apple and their programmers iron out the bugs of Pages 5, and, maybe in some months it will be better than it is now.
Also, if you like the Format Bar in 4.3, are used to it and use it, you will be disapponted to hear that Pages 5 does not have it! I have both '09 and 5 on my in my Applications Folder, but I always use 4.3.
Some, who have only 5 would dearly like to trade places with you! So, even if you get 5, keep 4.3.

HT4759 icloud app will not start

I have windows 7 trying to get icloud to work. Login says "you can't sign in because of a server error.

Tried quite a few different things. Checked with Apple tech support and came to the conclusion that the windows registry entries were corrupt.
itunes was on my computer and somewhat worked. Still could not update or access the store but I could play music. When I went to the control panel itunes and Bonjour were both missing. I tried reinstalling itunes and finally got it to load but, I could not delete all of apple products. When I did finally remove all Apple products Windows would automatically repair to the restore point before and reload certain Apple files.
Talked with someone about repairing the registry entries and his advice was to reload Windows scratch. Did that and about 15 hours later iCloud works as does all the rest of my programs. Runs like a champ. IMHO think about a scratch install sooner and don't deal with the headaches. Be sure to load virus protection but make sure to do that after you download all of your software programs first.

MSI Gaming app will not start up or run

I just installed a new MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G and also installed the MSI gaming app. When I click on the app to open it appears in my notification window, but as soon as I mouse over the icon it disappears. The app stops running. I have uninstalled and re-installed like 12 times and restarted the computer 15 times. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to using new stuff so any help would be nice. Thanks

Mail App will not start or open...

Hello all...have an old mac ibook that is running 10.4.11. I would like to use the mail program. When I click on the icon the icon bounces once and then stops. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance....

Did the software ever worked before? Try to uninstall it (Programs&Features), remove any folders and registry files that Gaming App have made (you can also use CCleaner to clear registry errors). Adobe acrobat pro app will not start when I click

Just used installer to download Acrobat Pro. When I click on icon or click in applications file nothing happens

Errors on startup - app does not start

I tried to start photoshop today and received two errors and the app will not start. I tried un-installing and re-installing (cloud apps), but I encounter the same errors
Can't post screen shots - you can't read them. First error says "Could not load actions as an unexpected end of file was encountered" The second one says "Could not initialize photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleated)"
any idea what I could try. I haven't installed any new software. PS worked a few days ago, other programs working OK, even cloud stuff

Itunes will not start after getting safari 4.0 update

Hi everyone, I'm the sort who doesn't skip a software update whenever i'm prompted with one. Much to my appall, after having updated my safari to 4.0 (as prompted by iTunes 9.0.2 to access iTunes store), my iTunes will not start, and my MSN messenger crashes a little less than a few minutes after launching it. Is this a known problem? Should i copy and paste the error report?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ install.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
