App World IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

Hi there all! I simply can't download any apps on my Blackberry Bold 9900 and its very, very frustrating. I spoke with Vodafone, my service provider and we downloaded the latest app world, but it didn't help. The last person also deleted an account and then also matched my BB pin with my IMEI, but it still doesn't work!!!! I access the App World and then select an App to download. Then hit download. Then it says "Loading" and brings up the Blackberry Addendum to agree to. I hit "I agree", it comes up with "Please wait" for about 2 seconds and then goes back to the app page. It doesn't download anything..... Can anyone please help me? Thanks in advance of a quick response. Flashpilot

In your App World, tap and hold on the Google Maps entry and tap Remove or Delete.
Reboot your device.
Try your App World again.

  • Impossible to find BBM and BB App World

    Hello,
Since I have downloaded the latest BBM 6, I can't launch the application, I can't even find it on my BB although it is on my BB. Now, it is the same since I have donwloaded the latest BB App World, impossible to launch or find it.
I don't know if the following is related but I have downloaded a number of applications that I see, click on to start but then see that there is an error and the app cannot be launched.
Thanks to everyone if you have a solution to this problem.

    What is the error?
Do you have the BlackBerry Data plan on your Orange account? A generic data plan will not suffice.

  • Is it possible to operate without BIS - in particular GMail and app world?

    Hi there!
I have had a BB Curve 3G 9300 for one week; I'm in the UK, and I acquired it together with a T-Mobile contract, at a Phones4U shop in London.  Before agreeing to buy the BB, and the contract, I went through a whole load of things that I wanted to be able to do, with the salesman, and was assured that they were all possible at no extra cost beyond the contract.
Now the thing is that this contract includes T-Mobile unlimited internet, but does not include the T-Mobile "Blackberry Booster" - which I believe is T-Mobile's terminology for BIS.
After checking with a nice lady at T-Mobile, I didn't think that should be a problem, because she said that the Blackberry Booster is only needed for Blackberry's push email system, and Blackberry Messenger, neither of which I want.
Since then, however, I've been periodically having trouble with the GMail app (saying "This application requires a working data connection") and BB App World (with a similar message about not being able to connect to the server).  This isn't the case all the time --- sometimes both of those work fine.  But they fail (as described) around 40% of the time, and obviously that's enough to mean that I just can't rely on them.
So I just called T-Mobile again, and this time I was told that this was caused by not having the Blackberry Booster.  The person I spoke to claimed that Blackberry have the power to prevent my apps from working (in the way I've described) and that they periodically scan BB handsets and disconnect people like me who aren't paying for the Booster/BIS.
So now I'm wondering if this is really true, and - in other words - that it is effectively impossible to use a BB properly without the Booster/BIS.  If you are sure you know about this, please reply to help me out!
I should add that you can find stuff about the GMail problem all over the web, with many different solutions proposed.  But most of the hits are old, and my impression is that none of the solutions are definitive.  I've also tried most of the suggestions, and they haven't helped.  (The only significant one I haven't tried yet is the one about redownloading Service Books, because I don't understand it, and because it sounds like it's related to having BIS.)
Many thanks in advance for all help that you can offer!

    Hi there Neil,
That is correct.  In order to use BlackBerry App World and other apps such as GMail, Facebook and Twitter, you need a BlackBerry data package and access to BIS.  Without BIS access, these apps will not work correctly, although you can access GMail online via your browser and you can manually download apps via your computer.
    I hope this info helps!

  • App World Errors

    Hello!
I'm not English, but I can't find any solutions for this problem in other sites. So, certainly I will do a lot of mistakes, but don't worry about it.
Anyway, I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520 that can't connect to the App World and I don't know why (just two or three weeks ago it worked perfectly).
In fact, when I try to connect the telephone to the App World, it says (I'm trying to translate from Italian):
"It's impossible to set a connection with Blackberry App World. Check that the device is connected to the wireless network and try again"
This is the first message that appeared. But after three or four days the message changed in:
"BlackBerry App World is finding some connection problems to BlackBerry's servers. Check the network connection and try again"
I don't know if there are big differences from the first to the second message, but I just wrote it.
If I go in "Connection Manager" and then in Wi-If options, it says that I'm connected (in fact I can surf the NET with the browser without problems), but the Wi-if icon is grey/matt.
    Moreover I have another problem:
My school offers a free Wi-If connection, but when I try to connect to it, the device says:
"Impossible to get an IP address."
So, I hope that here I will find solutions!
If I have a bad English and you can't understand what I wrote: say It to me and I'll try to explain better.
    Bye!

    Hello !
Well once you are in My World Option you can click on Upgrades for upgrading the pre existing app.
Or else when you are on the home screen of App world just click on the app which ever you prefer, keeping your device connected to your Laptop/Desktop.
Once you click on any of the app, it will automatically help you to install the app.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest there time on this Message anymore.
    Thanks.

Guys I'm having a serious problem with my app world. I tried that method in post two.
Now when it asks me "blackberry identity update needed, do you want to install it now?" I say YES
And then it asks me the same question again
    Then I say YES again
Then it tells me "blackberry identity installation failed"
But there is this other pop-up box in the background that also says something but I can't read it because App World kicks me out after I click OK for the "blackberry identity installation failed"
I tried numerous times to read what the other pop-up says but it's impossible.
Now my app world won't work AT ALL
    What now
That's odd...you removed the identity app, allowed it to reinstall, but it remains requiring the identity update...strange. OK, then please try this sequence:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
    3) Remove BB Identity (as per the KB in Post 2)
    4) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    5) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    6) See if it now works.
I'm not exactly sure when it will re-prompt for the Identity app...I'm kind of guessing here since your symptom is rather odd indeed.

  • Cannot download blackberry app world apps - "enable cookies" error message keeps coming

    Hi,
    I have a Curve 3920, running v7.1.0 OS.
Back in July I kept getting low memory messages and it kept getting stuck so I had to un-install apps such as Linkedin or What's App. Then I realized I only had 2GB memory so upgraded to a 16GB one.
Now the blackberry works ok but it is impossible to re-install Linkedin or World Apps app or any other from Blackberry World interface, it keeps coming coming up with ""BlackBerry ID Services. We detect that cookies have been disabled in your browser. Please enable cookies in order to continue." error message, even though I have correct set-up in the device browser option set-up menu.
However I successfully managed to download What's App, but not from app world page.
Any idea of what can be done?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • App World Not Available in Your Country....

'Blackberry App world is not currently available in your country, Please check blackberry.com/appworld for updates.' - Whenever I try to access to blackberry app world I get a pop-up saying what I have written previous. I am from the yemen and have been using App World previously, the last time I used it was about an hour ago so it is only a recent problem. I have updated to the latest software not too long ago, I have reinstalled App world and still no joy. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what is happening?
    Thanks in Advance,
    alarodhi

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please check this page to ensure you meet the minimum requirements (including if it is available in your country):
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp
I do not see Yemen listed as an available country for BBWorld...which begs the curiosity as to how you were able to previously use it. Perhaps the prior version of it you were using was certified for your country, but now your country has dropped from the list
It's actually impossible for anyone here, in this user-to-user community, to know for sure the answers to any of these questions. All we can know is that Yemen is not listed as an available country, and hence cannot be expected to function for you. We cannot know if it was previously listed but has been dropped, why that may have happened if it did, nor why you were able to previously use it. All we can know is that you cannot expect it to function based on the information we have available.
Do of course be aware that AppWorld is merely a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. As such, it is not usually your exclusive procurement source -- there are others that you can try:
    AppWorld in selected countries
    MobiHand everywhere in the world
    Handango everywhere in the world
    BPlay everywhere in the world
    GetJAR everywhere in the world
I have found that there are very few apps that are exclusive to AppWorld. You can search the on-line catalog and then search out other procurement sources, including quite often the developer website itself.
Lastly, do understand that BlackBerry does not have unilateral control over the availability of AppWorld. They have to ensure that they and their partners meet local laws and legislation for operating an e-commerce system -- and that can take time, especially given the necessary governmental involvement of each jurisdiction.
    Good luck!

  • Backing up and restoring app data of an App World (BlackBerry World) app

I'd like to do a security wipe on my old Bold 9700 and then reinstall/restore an App World (BlackBerry World) app that I purchased with the same BlackBerry ID.
    1. Can I reinstall an app via App World after a security wipe?
    2. WIll the app data (e.g. game scores) be restored?
    3. I did a full back up with BDS7, if reinstalling the app on a security wiped phone does not reinstate the app data, can I retrieve the app data by restoring the app from the backup?
    4. What about copying the .rem files of the App World folder of the app to my computer, reinstalling the app via App World and then copying the .rem files back to the Blackberry? Or is there another location I should look for the app data?
    Thank you in advance.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To re-install your apps, please see this KB:
KB17625 How to install or transfer previously purchased applications from BlackBerry App World to a BlackBerry smartphone
    HandsomeP wrote:
    2. WIll the app data (e.g. game scores) be restored?
That I'm not sure of...it likely depends on how the scores are stored. If they are stored on the device, then it might be able to re-obtain that information after you reinstall the app. Likewise, if they are stored on some server somewhere, it might be able to do so. But there's really no way for anyone but the app developer to know for sure. If I were you, I'd prepare myself for those being lost as a result of this activity.
    HandsomeP wrote:

Maybe -- again, it depends on how the app works, which only the app developer can say. Some apps store data in AppMemory (which is what gets backed up), others store their data in Device or Media Card Memory (which is not necessarily backed up). And it may well be moot anyway, depending on how the developer coded the app.

Same issue...it all depends on how the developer coded the app. If the coded it to ignore any stored data anywhere each time the app is installed, then you can't force it to read anything, regardless of where you might restore it to. But, again, only the developer of the app can tell you what will happen in these circumstances.
    Cheers!

I keep getting the message You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. but I don't have an update available in app world. I did the update but it doesn't seem to be registering on my macbook pro. Now I can't open any of my documents as I keep getting this message. Now what???

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Please help urgently - can't download App World

    Dear all,
I posted yesterday about how I've lost access to WhatsApp on my Blackberry Z10. I'm a lecturer and use WhatsApp to communicate with my students so it is urgent that I get back on ASAP. I could not get the application to update or download so I deleted it but that has not helped. The root problem seems to be that App World is gone from my BB, and I can't get it back either.
I have tried several methods of downloading App World and none of them work.
    1. If I enter the URL appworld.blackberry.com in the browser on my BB, I get the error "Unable to open appworld://"
    2. If I visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/download as instructed on the BB website, it states:
"Simply visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/download from your smartphone to download. Or, enter an email address that’s integrated with your BlackBerry smartphone below and click submit to have a download link sent to you."
When I enter the URL www.blackberry.com/appworld/download in my BB browser it simply refreshes the same page with the same instructions.
    3. If I enter the email address integrated with my BB, it sends me an email with the following URL in it:
    http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?code=appworld
Currently, entering this URL on my PC or in my BB yields an "HTTP Status 500" exception report. Previously (last night), the same URL was giving the following instruction: "Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download site using the browser on your Blackberry." But I was using the browser on my BlackBerry and not a USB connection.
    4. Searching around the web desperately for a workaround, I found a suggestion to download BlackBerry App World directly from the web at this link. However, when I downloaded this file to my BB and tried to open it, it just said "Unable to open file".
I'm now out of ideas! Please help.

    Hi @tom-81030
Thats strange! To confirm, what happens if tyou open BlackBerry World and search for WhatsApp?
This should allow you to see WhatsApp and provide a Install option (link).
If searching for the app doesnt produce any results, try scanning the following QR Code using BlackBerry World on your device. To do this, open BlackBerry World, swipe down from the top of your screen and tap Scan Barcode.
Let me know if this helps!

  • How do I get rid of BB App World Notification?

I just got my BB last night, so I'm very new to this, but I did the update on the BB App World, and there were some apps that I did not want (such as Yahoo Messenger) that it kept coming up that there was an update available for... so I uninstalled those apps... but the Black Berry App World notification keeps coming up saying that there are updates available for those apps. Do I HAVE to reinstall and update them, even if I don't want to ever use them? It's annoying that it shows up with my new messages all the time.
Sorry if these are stupid questions, only had the BB for less than a day!
Update* I reinstalled the apps, and the notifications are still there... and I click on them, and updating isn't an option anymore... just Reviews, Recommend, & Screenshots... I can't get rid of it!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
From your post, I can't quite tell where this notification is coming up. If it's on your homescreen (at the top, where the VM, new message, etc. notifications show), then the resolution will be different. Check this image for what that notification will look like:
If it is indeed that one, then you need to find, in your Messages, a message from AppWorld -- deal with it (read, delete, etc.) and the notification should go away. If you can't find the messages, then try a search:
KB21879How to search for unread messages on the BlackBerry smartphone
However, if the notification is within MyWorld itself, then the resolution might be different. It's actually quite odd for AppWorld to continue to notify for uninstalled apps...are they actually in the uninstalled section of MyWorld? In any event, try this clearing the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Storm/Pearl -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    4. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    5. Return to AppWorld. Log into MyWorld (if applicable) and try again.
Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!
