App World keeps overcharging me

I have a Playbook and download games and the odd app pretty regularly.  Yesterday I bought 5 games, 4 of which charged my Paypal account more than was advertised (example: Ragged Edge 3D was advertised yesterday at £2.50, but Blackberry billed me for £4.00).  In total, I ordered £6 of games, but was charged over £10 in total.
How are we supposed to sort out these issues?  There seems only to be the option of obtaining a full refund or querying in forums.  I don't need a full refund, but would like some clairification and possible refund over these overcharges.

I'm having the same problem.
Got charged £2.00 for an App advertised for £0.75. Have contacted developer and he says its a Appworld problem. I have tried the refund form but it fails every time with an unknown error. There is no telephone number for support for Appworld or an email address. Paypal wont/cant help, they say it was an authorised transaction.
So where do we go from here?
Guy
Hello,
I don't know what form you are trying, but as I recall there is one "out there", but indeed it is not the proper channel to use (I do wish they would take it down!!). Refunds from AppWorld are requested from BlackBerry, but to do so you must first contact your mobile service provider, who is then responsible for escalating your request up to BlackBerry for processing.
Good luck!

  • App world keeps giving me the error message

I have a blackberry Q10 and everytime I try and download something from the app world it keeps giving me the error message of ' an error has occured. Please try again later' this started happening when I upgraded my app world.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support. Also check your BB10 OS level to be sure it also is up to date.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry app world keeps saying 'AN ERROR HAS OCCURED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER'

    Hi there
I have a blackberry 8520 and everytime I try and download something from the app world it keeps giving me the error message of ' an error has occured. Please try again later' this started happening when I upgraded my app world.
I have rebooted my phone, restarted it and made sure its fully charged. This has been going on since saturday (when I upgraded my app world)
I cannot download any apps because of this problem. And when I try I keep getting the Error msg!!!!!
Please help as I really enjoy the phone I just can't download any apps!!!!!!
    Thanx

    Hi there!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRTHomescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service BooksKB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull RebootAnytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • Apple ID, email verification says the ID is already in use, but App world keeps saying i havent veryfied the email account

Been trying to download apps for my iPad, just created my apple ID, the verification email keep saying in bold red letters that the ID is already in use, that I should only access the App world with that account, but at App world it says that the email account has nit yet been veryfied and resends the verification mail!! How can I solve this?

You can check to see if it is associated with one of your IDs by following this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625, and entering the email address at step 2 to see if it finds an ID owned by you.  If it doesn't, contact the Apple account security team and have them check into it by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Apple ID account security.

  • My Blackbberry 9360 App World keeps saying please wait!

I just got my phone yesterday and I tries to update my App World. When I pressed ok, It started saying please wait and wouldnt stop! I turned off my phone but it is still going! And I can't press any buttons either so I need help!

do a battery pull, and then switch back on,  if you have a PC or Laptop, plug your phone in via USB, go to the blackberry web page, select App world and sign in, select my world and your app's should come up on the PC, select upgrades and if theres an App update for App World, select it and install it, it should work this way.  Good Luck

  • Updated App World keeps crashing

    Hi there,
I was prompted to download an App World update, which I did, and now whenever I push the App World icon everything just freezes.  Sometimes clicking the end button gets it unfrozen (without launching App World) and sometimes I have to shut down my phone and restart.  App World has not worked for me at all since it downloaded the update.  What can I do to fix this?
    Much thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot (from your post, it does not sound as if you've done this).

  • Can't update apps because app world won't work

I have like 8 app updates but I can't update them because app world isn't letting me sign in. It takes like 2 minutes to authenticate my sign in info and it says it can't do it and has to close app world because an error occured.
AND I can't update app world or even connect my blackberry to my computer because I can't download/install the desktop manager.

I can't do like anything. Currently I'm trying to download the desktop manager so I can update app world since app world keeps crashing. Like I'm on the authenticating screen with my email and password and it sits on the authenticating screen for minutes until it says that app world expereienced an error and needs to close. And I can barely update any of my apps.
I'm seriously fed up with blackberry right now.

  • I keep getting the message You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. but I don't have an update available in app world. Now what?

I keep getting the message You need a newer version of Pages to open this document. but I don't have an update available in app world. I did the update but it doesn't seem to be registering on my macbook pro. Now I can't open any of my documents as I keep getting this message. Now what???

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:
    http://www.freeforum101.com/iworktipsntrick/viewforum.php?f=22&sid=3527487677f0c 6fa05b6297cd00f8eb9&mforum=iworktipsntrick
Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Cannot download blackberry app world apps - "enable cookies" error message keeps coming

    Hi,
    I have a Curve 3920, running v7.1.0 OS.
Back in July I kept getting low memory messages and it kept getting stuck so I had to un-install apps such as Linkedin or What's App. Then I realized I only had 2GB memory so upgraded to a 16GB one.
Now the blackberry works ok but it is impossible to re-install Linkedin or World Apps app or any other from Blackberry World interface, it keeps coming coming up with ""BlackBerry ID Services. We detect that cookies have been disabled in your browser. Please enable cookies in order to continue." error message, even though I have correct set-up in the device browser option set-up menu.
However I successfully managed to download What's App, but not from app world page.
Any idea of what can be done?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    Please try this sequence:
    1) Remove both AppWorld AND the Identity App from your BB
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
    3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld (during which a fresh version of the Identity App should also install)
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.
    Cheers!

  • Phone Keeps Rebooting When Trying to D/L New Apps After An App World Update

Hi. I just got a Blackberry Curve 9350 from Sprint over the weekend. I downloaded some apps and everything went fine. Today, I had a notification to ugrade App World, well the ugrade  was successful, and I clicked yes to allow the device to restart as soon as the ugrade  was finished. Now, whenever I try to download a new application, the phone seemingly downloads it but then the screen turns black when the download is finished and will reboot itself. The new apps aren't found on the device afterwards. What is happening, how can I fix it and download the apps i want?

I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    6. Return to AppWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes).
If step (4)  does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
Failing that, you can try this sequence:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications) -- if it requests that you reboot the BB, do so.
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot as described above.
    3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.
Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • How do I get rid of BB App World Notification?

I just got my BB last night, so I'm very new to this, but I did the update on the BB App World, and there were some apps that I did not want (such as Yahoo Messenger) that it kept coming up that there was an update available for... so I uninstalled those apps... but the Black Berry App World notification keeps coming up saying that there are updates available for those apps. Do I HAVE to reinstall and update them, even if I don't want to ever use them? It's annoying that it shows up with my new messages all the time.
Sorry if these are stupid questions, only had the BB for less than a day!
Update* I reinstalled the apps, and the notifications are still there... and I click on them, and updating isn't an option anymore... just Reviews, Recommend, & Screenshots... I can't get rid of it!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
From your post, I can't quite tell where this notification is coming up. If it's on your homescreen (at the top, where the VM, new message, etc. notifications show), then the resolution will be different. Check this image for what that notification will look like:
If it is indeed that one, then you need to find, in your Messages, a message from AppWorld -- deal with it (read, delete, etc.) and the notification should go away. If you can't find the messages, then try a search:
KB21879How to search for unread messages on the BlackBerry smartphone
However, if the notification is within MyWorld itself, then the resolution might be different. It's actually quite odd for AppWorld to continue to notify for uninstalled apps...are they actually in the uninstalled section of MyWorld? In any event, try this clearing the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Storm/Pearl -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    4. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    5. Return to AppWorld. Log into MyWorld (if applicable) and try again.
Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry App World errors

Hi, true experts...  Just got my BB Curve 8330 last week, and I'm having fun.  But after having explored BB App World from my Curve one time, I can't get into it again.  I keep getting this error message:  "Error starting net_rim_bb_appworld; Symbol 'SecurityDialog.challengeUser' not found."
I've searched this board (as well as I am able to) and haven't found any other question about this particular error message.  Surely I am not the only person to get it!!?
    Any help sincerely appreciated.

  • App World Errors

    Hello!
I'm not English, but I can't find any solutions for this problem in other sites. So, certainly I will do a lot of mistakes, but don't worry about it.
Anyway, I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520 that can't connect to the App World and I don't know why (just two or three weeks ago it worked perfectly).
In fact, when I try to connect the telephone to the App World, it says (I'm trying to translate from Italian):
"It's impossible to set a connection with Blackberry App World. Check that the device is connected to the wireless network and try again"
This is the first message that appeared. But after three or four days the message changed in:
"BlackBerry App World is finding some connection problems to BlackBerry's servers. Check the network connection and try again"
I don't know if there are big differences from the first to the second message, but I just wrote it.
If I go in "Connection Manager" and then in Wi-If options, it says that I'm connected (in fact I can surf the NET with the browser without problems), but the Wi-if icon is grey/matt.
    Moreover I have another problem:
My school offers a free Wi-If connection, but when I try to connect to it, the device says:
"Impossible to get an IP address."
So, I hope that here I will find solutions!
If I have a bad English and you can't understand what I wrote: say It to me and I'll try to explain better.
    Bye!
    Solved!

    Hello !
Well once you are in My World Option you can click on Upgrades for upgrading the pre existing app.
Or else when you are on the home screen of App world just click on the app which ever you prefer, keeping your device connected to your Laptop/Desktop.
Once you click on any of the app, it will automatically help you to install the app.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would request you to Click on "Like" and accept as "Solution" so that other Advisors doesnt invest there time on this Message anymore.

  • Signing in to BlackBerry Apps World

I am having a very difficult time signing in to the BlackBerry Apps World.  I have forgotten my password and also the answer to my security question is not been accepted.  I am getting very frustrated because the sign in locks me out for 15 minutes each time I try to make a guess.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Start first with these please:
KB28685 How to reset the BlackBerry ID password using the password recovery question
KB32111 "The link is no longer valid." is encountered when attempting to reset a BlackBerry ID password
KB26361 How to change or reset the BlackBerry ID password
KB28111 Unable to reset BlackBerry ID password when using a BlackBerry hosted email address
KB28232 BlackBerry ID reset email is not being delivered to the associated mailbox
If you have forgotten your BB ID credentials AND have non-BB access (e.g., Outlook, webmail, etc.) to the email account that is currently configured to your BB ID account, then those instructions should allow you to recover access to your BB ID account.
However, if you do not have access to that email account, then your challenge is much greater, and you have a choice to make depending on your circumstances:
If you have no AppWorld records that you require to retain (e.g., purchase records for apps), then simply abandon the BB ID and create a new one. To do so, however, does require a device WIPE:
KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry smartphone
But, if you do have AppWorld records that you must keep, then you require human intervention. To receive that, you must ring up your mobile service provider and convince them to escalate your case up to BlackBerry. Further, you must convince BlackBerry to provide you with a solution -- which likely will either be resetting your current BB ID so that you can again access it or having you create a new BBID and they will manually move your purchase records over. Note that I have no idea if they will be willing to do this, but there is no other way that I know of to retain your prior AppWorld purchase records.
    Good luck!
