  • Unable to log into App World - Error message 80002

I am unable to access my app world. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app to no avail. I get the error message " The software upgrade was interrupted. Please try again."
When I click cancel, it says "BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later (80002). I know that I am in a country and carrier that supports BB. So not sure what the issue is. I also have v5.0.0.862 on my phone

Seems my BB has a mind of it's own. The removing/reinstalling didn't solve the problem.
Do you mean removing/reinstalling the Identity App on your BB? Or AppWorld itself? Or both perhaps? One of the above KBs is specifically about removing/reinstalling the Identity App...and that's the one that normally cures this.

I tried following your "Homescreen > Options > Device > BlackBerry ID" but I don't have a selection for "Device". is there another option? I have the Bold 9700
Oh...that's probably because you are way behind, still on OS 5 on your BB...Rogers currently supports 6.0.0.666, and the menu structures are totally different moving from OS5 to 6, and again to 7 (though I don't think your BB model can support OS7). For OS 5, I think the command string is Homescreen > Options > BlackBerry ID

How do I access BBID on my pc? Not sure if that will help, but would love to try...lol! Anything at this point.
From a PC/browser, go to AppWorld (www.blackberry.com/appworld). At the top right will be a "Sign In" link...click that and it takes you to the BB ID login.

I have the same IT policy on my phone as i did when it got the phone. it has never prevented me from accessing AppWorld, or anything else for that matter. Not sure how to tell if "Stealth" is getting in the way.
So, your BB is part of a BES environment? It may be that AppWorld worked OK before, but that there's something in the IT Policy that is blocking this update...you should check with your BES admins to be sure.
As for "stealth"...that's the whole point...a stealth IT Policy cannot be seen, other than it's effect on trying to do things on the BB. "Normal" IT Policies can be seen:

  • BlackBerry App World Error Message 80003

I have had my BB Curve 9300 for over a year and recenlty not been able to log into my BlackBerry App World for some reason.
My Blackberry App World is currently version V5.0.0.846.
When i click to go into the Blackberry App World it says i need to:
"A Blackberry Identity update is needed would you like to install"  i then click YES
It then tries to contact Blackbery ID Server......... and theni get this message
"Blackberry Identity installation failed. Please try again later (80003)"
    Please help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you're getting the 80003 error, there are three user-suggested fixes:
    1. Follow these directions:
First delete AppWorld on your OS 5 Blackberry, (Options > Advanced > Applications) or on OS 6/7 devices (Options > Device > Applications)
Then copy the whole address below and paste it in your BlackBerry browser, or click on it from this forum page FROM your BlackBerry.
    http://santo.asia/repository/bb-file/BlackBerryAppWorld.3.0.1.29.OS5/AppWorld.jad
    or:
    For OS7 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2196
    For OS6 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2197
    For OS5 devices: http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2198
    2. Make sure you are connecting to AppWorld while on a WiFi connection. This has worked for some.
    3. On OS5 BlackBerrys, go to Options, Advanced Options, TCP/IP. Select APN which is the first box. Under it
next to APN type Internet. Save it and it will work.
On OS6 & 7 BlackBerrys, go to Options > Device, at the bottom Advanced System Settings. Go to TCP IP. Select the first box and next to APN type "Internet". Your BlackBerry ID will download. It will ask to restart your device, do so and if you then go it to your App World > MyWorld, it will prompt you to a blue screen where you need to log in.
    good luck.

  • App World Update on 8520 Curve

I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted.
Now I am unable to download apps! When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles!
    Somebody please help!

I'm having the same problem! I've set up my BB ID and validated it from the link recieved in my email.  When I log into App World I have to accept the terms and conditions, then im presented with the 'My Account' section.  After this its a dead end.  I can view all the apps etc in the App World but as soon as I try and download it I'm presented with this sequence all over again.
I'm using the App World 2.0 update.
Any help would be great - been scratching my head all night over this one!

  • APP WORLD UPDATES STUCK.

    Hey there everyone....
What happened today on my Blackberry is that I saw the little icon on my screen that I had 5 new updates on applications I had downloaded to my phone. As they were apps I wasnt even using, I decided to instead of updating it, simply delete all those apps. But after doing so, the little icon of the app world and the number 5 are still on my screen. I tried battery pull 3 times already and nothing happens, tried logging out and in on App World and even tried reinstalling the apps. But nothing happens. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.
    Guada -

    Hi there,
Try simply going into your main Messages folder, then press the BB Menu button and select "View Folder".  From here, you can check for the BlackBerry App World folder and then simply view the messages which should clear the messages from your device.
    I hope this helps.

  • Blackberry App World Update

    Hi, all,
An update for Blackberry App World has just been released.  The new version is 1.1.0.35.  It can be downloaded directly from Blackberry at their website from your Blackberry device.  I'm not sure of what exactly has been updated, but hopefully, it will run a little smoother for some folks who had problems with it in the past.  If you have never used Blackberry App World, it is chocked full of applications for your device, many free for download.  Check it out if you are looking for a particular app.
    Doc

Where exactly are we finding this application after we upgrade? I clicked upgrade YESTERDAY. Since then I have rebooted my blackberry 3 times, and blackberry app world is no where to be find. I unhide all my icons, it is not in the download folder. If I hit the application central icon it is there, but I cannot access it, it says, "downgrade" under blackberry app world.

  • My blackberry App World error message "an error has occurred. Please try again later"

My app world used to work fine, until one day when it stopped signing me in a would come up with "an error has occurred. Please try again later" every time I tried to log in. Trying again later doesn't work and installing and reinstalling app world doesn't do the trick. My software update also wont work so I can't try that either. Any help???? Thanks!!

I corrected my time zone and it let me login correctly (on my phone)! BUT, my app world button on my playbook still isn't working I tried to find a way to delete the app on the playbook but I dunno where to do that.

  • App World error message

I am trying to download an app from Blackberry.com.  First off I get an error message that says I have an App World Web Plug In error.  I don't know what that means.  Secondly, when I tried to go ahead and download the app it is telling me that my device is not plugged in, even though it is.
Anybody know what is going on?

HI, this is a really simple fix.
Step 1: download the blackberry web addon from blackberries website (google for more info)
Step 2: Unplug the battry in your phone then put it back in,then plug it in your pc and finally download the app!

  • App world update error

I haven't been able to use my appworld in months - asks to upgrade, do it says complete followed by error, restarts and asks to upgrage app world again , also browser issues on some sites will click on link and sends me back to homescreen completely kicking me out of browser all together. Please someone help! Tried manufacturer re-set didn't help.

Something in your OS itself may be corrupt...and an OS reload is the only way to cure that, if it's the case.
The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • 9900 App World 10000 message - give me the license key now.

If I only knew that App World is so unstable... App World company did charge me for IM+ Talk, but I saw only error 10000, no license key. I was waiting for several days and nothing happened (I thought if thee error encountered it could be monitored by accounting or administration of App world) - nobody contacted me and send the license key.
Then I contacted SHAPE, vendor of IM+ Talk.Tha's what they said:
Managing Blackberry AppWorld purchases is out of our scope, sorry.
If you encounter any difficulties with purchase, please visit
    Blackberry AppWorld support site.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/blackberryappworld.jsp
So i'm still waiting for the license key, please feel free to contact me, you have my e-mail., I can provide you with phone number if needed. I will not try to play with App World anymore, only wait for the license key, as you charged me already.
Moreover I would really expect better support, as this forum sometimes goes on maintenance (this is my second attempt to write you here).
I case nothing happens I will need to ask my bank (issuer of the card) to run investigation on this case.
    Thank you,

  • 8520 app world update

I installed an update for Blackberry App world last night and my phone has not switched back on since. It asked for a device reboot which I attempted to do but it gets to about two thirds through booting up and then stops, I have pulled the battery several times and the same keeps happening

I installed the update this morning and although my phone will switch on, I keep getting the timer symbol every time I want to do anything, and my battery which has always been fine and lasts has this morning gone from being fully charged down to completely empy in three hours and all it was going was sitting on my desk! any ideas anyone please!

  • App world update; hang on reboot

I just upgraded Appworld.  Whe I rebooted my 8900 hangs with the progress bar about 3/4 across.  I have done several battery pulls and it still hangs at the same spot.  I have tried connecting to Desktop and updating the software but that appears to hang on "Checking for BlackBerry Device Software Updates".  So I have no phone.  What to do next?

I'm having the same problem! I've set up my BB ID and validated it from the link recieved in my email.  When I log into App World I have to accept the terms and conditions, then im presented with the 'My Account' section.  After this its a dead end.  I can view all the apps etc in the App World but as soon as I try and download it I'm presented with this sequence all over again.

Last night I updated app world and when i rebooted this morning the icon wasnt there.
after 2 minutes, the phone froze altogether - i couldntt even turn it off. After pulling the battery off and putting it back on, again the phone works for only 2 minutes and then it freezes again.
how can I get it back to working properly?

Are you able to restart your device in safe mode as shown in KB17877?
