App you did not purchase prompting to be updated

Hello. I'm getting prompted to update an App you did not purchase. Does anybody knows how to reset it in order to avoid the prompt message?
Once I press the update button, appears an itunes account of someone that I don't know.

  • APP I did not purchase shows up in my account.

Looking at my account in the App Store, I found an item, which I have not downloaded, listed as purchased.  I did not purchase this item.  How do I get rid of it?

If you did not purchase the app but are billed for it, contact Apple customer support and see if they can straighten  out your account http://www.apple.com/contact

I have just found a billing email addressed to me saying i have purchased an app and that i will be charged £59.99 to my bank account. I have did not purchase this app and i have no idea how it has ended up on my phone. The email tells me that £23.64 will be taken from my store credit and £36.35 from my bank. You can contact iTunes support via email via this page (I'm not aware of any phone support for iTunes) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT3702 I was billed for an app i did not purchase

I was billed for an application i did not purchase. I was emailed the receipt and it has been taken out of my bank account.

Assuming this wasn't for an in-app purchase you forgot or made inadvertently, first change the password to your Apple ID in case someone else has been able to obtain access. Then go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • HT201303 I have been debited money for an App I did not purchase, however where do I complain all Apple provides are generic answers and nowhere about wrong invoices

I have received an invoice for an app I did not buy.  I looked at it but at no time confirmed the purchase by using my password - how do I get reimbursed or even where do I complain - all I get are generic answers about protecting my password.

Right. So you're telling me that Apple has left someone in charge who is totally screwing their customers' experience and no one at Apple will help reign them in and set them straight?
I guarantee you that she's not the only person who's had this experience and it **** well sours me from buying another iPhone if I know it won't be taken care of if something goes wrong.
I've posted this to let Apple know there's something woefully wrong with their partner and to get that fixed as well. I know Vodafone is the one I'm supposed to deal with; I just want that to be improved.

  • "You did not purchase this item. You can not redownload..."

    Has anyone experienced this problem?
I purchased Breaking Bad, Season 5 (season pass) in HD, through my Apple TV.  I've received an email receipt from Apple for the purchase, and it's shown up on my credit card recent activity.  When I go to play any episode, I get the following message:
"You did not buy this item. You can not redownload [Episode Name]"
I most certainly did.  So far, the Apple support has been the typical glazed-eyes, "make sure you're plugged in to the world wide web", "unplug, and plug in after exactly 60 seconds (so all the electrons drain out the back)", not really reading the specific case and symptoms I'm experiencing.
I've been able to "purchase" a free episode of a TV show and, despite a shockingly slow download, it was viewable, and the whole transaction was done directly through the Apple TV.
I was also able to download episodes from iTunes to my computer and watch them that way, but I really don't want the movies on my computer.
If there was a problem with an HDCP handshake between the AppleTV and the television, would an error message like this display?
Thanks in advance if you can help.

i am having the same problem in the last 2 days. does anyone have an answer??? very frustrating, as i have given a lot of money to apple to have the ability to download these shows when they are available.

  • Is anybody out there have iTunes Match problems? Such as: trades your music that you did not purchase from iTunes into edited versions of a song.

This is very annoying and utterly frustrating

At the moment, you have two options as far as I know.
    1. Just live with the issue until Apple resolve it.
    2. Turn off iTunes Match. You can just turn it off on specific devices and sync in the old way via USB.
I'm afraid that is it really.

  • Re: How can I restore DELETED APPS :- icloud, facebook, twitter on my iPhone 4S?(THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPhone I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM).These apps are dimmed and not responsive on my phone. I cannot back up to icloud.

Little fingers have deleted the above mentioned apps!
THE APPS IN QUESTION CAME WITH MY iPHONE.
    I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM!
HOW CAN I RESTORE THEM, THEY ARE NOT LISTED IN THE APP STORE????

    Hey Clyde71,
Thanks for the question. From your description, it sounds like various Account Settings have been greyed out in your Settings application (iCloud, Facebook, Twitter). The cause for these being greyed out is a restriction setup on your iPhone. You'll probably see that Restrictions are turned "On" in Settings > General.
You'll want to disable the restriction "Allow Changes: Accounts". For more information on restrictions, see this article:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions (Parental Controls)

    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I would like to update Pages from 4.1 to 4.2. I did not purchase it from the App Store but installed it with iWorks. How do I complete the upgrade?

I would like to update Pages from 4.1 to 4.2. I did not purchase it from the App Store but installed it with iWorks. How do I complete the upgrade?

The iWork 9.2 updater is for those using Mountain Lion. Why do you want to update to Pages 4.2 if you're still running Lion? There is no benefit & many users have had problems.
That being said, you must make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. All three applications must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
Now, choose Software Update from the Apple menu, from System Preferences or launch the Mac App Store & click Updates. You should get a window similar to this screenshot. Now click the Update button next to iWork 9.2.
Alternatively, you can download the standalone update here.

  • HT201304 I did not purchase the the in app purchase

How can I not pay for the in app purchase that I did not purchase? I have the parental controls set. And I was the one who purchased the app and the kids never had  the phone to make a purchase

Under General then Restrictions you can turn off App purchase (under braod heading Allow:) and further down the list is In-App Purchases (under the broad heading Allowed Content:) you can turn off to prevent extras being purchased to go with your initial App purchase. But to be sure, don't give your parental control and AppleID password to anyone and also further down the Allowed Content list change Require Password from 15 minutes to immediate, that way any accidental triggering of any purchase will require your Apple password immediately. What may have happened is that while playing the App someone decided to have an extra features which was automaticlly payed for within the 15 minutes period since the App was purchased.

  • HT1933 I did not purchase app

    Hello.
I downloaded TomCat 2 for my kids ages 2 and 3 just this week. They are not capable of putting in my password and I only have the free version with no coins. I just got a receipt for $25.99 in purchases with this app that I did not purchase. What can I do now???

It's saying you made an in app purchase from within the game for more coins.  not that you bought the app.  the app version that you bought is the free version.  The in app purchase costs real money.
