Apparently my ipod is corrupt. I restored it about 2 times already. still..

It wont work. I plugged it in first and then it said it was corrupt. then i restored it and same thing happened, then again. What's the problem?

try this
click start, then control panel (make sure this its classic view) then click on administrative tools, next computer management, click storage, then disk management
find your ipod from the letter or name you chose and format it, i think you have to delete the partition first, dont remember how, (think i did that in fedora install) maybe you can from that screen
and i cant try
then try to restore it from itunes... hope this works
i did all the steps here except restoring from itunes.. because v7 does not work so im not sure if this works, may wait for another answer/approval, just bumping and trying to help a problem i think is not asinine

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..
If your iPod is defective and not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost.

There is no Apple here, this is a user to user forum. When you said you restored, then you restore as NEW?
If you restored as New and still the problem persiist, then it time to take a trip to the Apple store.

After all you've tried, Dah*veed is probably right about needing warranty assistance.
But first check to be sure Settings-Airplane Mode is set to OFF, and Settings-WiFi-WiFi is set to ON.
Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect to your WiFi.

one day i plugged my 80g classic in to charge and sync. itunes diagnosed my ipod as corrupted and said please click restore,so i did now my windows computer and itunes does not recognize it at all i have a new 1g shuffle and it works fine. wat do i do with the classic cause i miss the space and it still turns on and everything. Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

IPod is corrupt please restore.

I set up my 3rd gen iPod originaly on my PC but switched the library over to my Mac several months ago. I have since been syncing it with my Mac with no problems. Last week iTunes 7.0 downloaded an iPOd software update to my iPod during a sync.
Since then my iPod won't connect to anything. Every time I plug it in the computer thinks for a bit and I get a "Your iPod may be corrupt, please restore...". I had to wonder if it tried to install Mac software on an iPod set up for PC? Who knows.
I have gone through the restore process 40 times. Done the 5 Rs. Put it in disk mode. I have plugged it in to two PCs and two Macs. Still get the same error.
The menus work fine. The iPod appears just as if it came right out of the box. However, it is impossible to connect it to any computer I have and get it to sync.
Has anyone heard of a problem like this? Is there anything else I can do to try and make it sync with a computer?
Or has it become a fancy paper weight?

HT1848 OMG, I appear to have lost of my music other than 2 albums bought today and 2 others that seemed to be saved somewhere else. Ipod was Corrupted and restored by itunes, now it's all gone!!! Help...

I need help, I seem to have lost all of my music from my Ipod. I bought two albums today which are still there as well as one I added via CD last week these are the only ones that remain. I got a message come up saying the ipod was corrupted and needed to be restored by itunes, I followed the instructions and it did a re-sync, but now all my albums are gone, other than the ones I said already. I can't find them in itunes, niether my ones bought from itunes or the ones put on via CD... Help please I am about to throw the poxy thing out of the window and have a melt down!!!!

I have been getting this error message since about the end of June when I updated to the latest version of iTunes. It's pretty annoying. Let me lay out how this has been happening for the past month, the best I can. I have a 32GB 4th gen iPod Touch
I load content up to my iPod. Music, Apps, Videos, pictures, etc.
My iPod works well for a little while, days sometimes a week is the longest I went without seeing this message.
I connect iPod back to my laptop through the standard pack in Apple USB connector.
I get the "Itunes cannot read the contents of ipod. Go to the summary tab in Ipod preferences and click Restore to restore this ipod to factory settings." message. When I go to the preferences tab, I click restore and iTunes gets stuck trying to restore my iPod. Then I have to uplug my iPod. And Shutdown/Restart my PC reconnect my iPod, and go through the restore process again.
I have been doing this for as I said, a month. It's getting pretty grueling to keep havomh putting cotent on my iPod after these restores.
I've tried everything.
I've stopped autosync, it still happens.
I tried to reinstall iTunes(be it I didn't full uninstall before trying to install again and got the option to fix corrupted files and such
I've deleted all old back up, and it still happens
Today is the fist time I'm fully uninstalling iTunes, and then reinstalling to see if this works.
But do you guys have any otehr solutions for this? As I said, this didn't start happening until I installed the lastest version of iTunes 10.6.3

- Have you tried another cable?
- Another USB port?
- When you have the problem, connect it to another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
- Try just restoring the iPod to factory settings/new iPod. Do not restore from backup. If you still have the problem with this and all computer that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Dropped Ipod, connected to Itunes, said Ipod was corrupted...

So I dropped my ipod, yes I know Im stupid. So I turn it on, and its kinda being funky, so I plug it in, and it says my Ipod is corrupted and restore to try and fix it. So I restore it, and now I can actually use it, I can get on it, click around thru music, artists, videos, etc., except that now theres no music on my ipod because I restored it, and every time I connect my ipod to try and get songs back on, it says it is corrupted.

Me compre un ipod classic de 160gb cada vez que trato de ponerle musica de mi disco duro externo solo copia hasta 1500 canciones y luego me congela el Itune y no lo puedo cerrar, me pide que restaure el ipod como de fabrica, lo hago y nada.
