Apparently Sync Manager is turned off for syncing my contacts and calendar to using Blackberry Desktop Software - how can I switch it ON?

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 a few months ago.
Up till then I was happily able to sync mac Contacts and Calendar to my Blackberry Curve 9320 via Blackberry's Desktop Manager (for Mac).
Since upgrading the software tells me to that Mac Sync Manager is turned off. I know it isn't because everything else is syncing.
When I hunt through your support I find that there are solutions for this problem for other Mac OS versions but not for Maverick, so please tell me how I can once again use my business phone happily as I did before upgrading!

BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which is synchronized with the desktop applications on the Mac computer (for example: Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly to or from the desktop applications on the Mac computer.
Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, therefore, it is not possible to synchronize Contact or Calendar information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software on these versions of OS X.

I've just bought an iPhone 5S in the UK, seems like a big mistake, but luckily by law we can return goods, which is exactly what is going to happen if I cant get this to work. This is my business phone, not having it functional can cost me money.

I'm happy you figured it out and just try to keep in mind that not everyone you talk to at support will give the same advice or have the same knowledge. Just like those who contribute to these forums. Sometimes Google is your best friend.
I agree that Apple could probably make it easier, but as of yet prefer security over freedom. (sound famaliar?)

You need to delete here conversation and start another one using her phone number and not her Apple ID. You cannot delete iMessage, you can disable it. If the Apple server still sees her iPod with iMessage on and using her Apple ID, then it will continue to appear to your phone that she has iMessage. She needs to take a look at this support document about permanently disabling iMessage for her account. Can’t receive text messages on a non-Apple phone

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

TS1347 I had to get a new hard drive on my laptop PC. Now I am unable to sync my contacts and calendar from my iphone to the outlook software on my PC. Although they are backed up on icloud, I really want the information on my computer.

I cannot figure out how to sync my contacts and calendar from my iphone with my windows PC. The message during the itunes sync process is that information is being backed up to both the cloud and my PC. However the Outlook software remains blank. What can I do??

Suddenly won't sync all Contacts and Calendars

I’ve been syncing my iPhone 2G with Mail, Contacts and Calendar on Outlook 2007 via USB for over a year without any problems. I recently added a Microsoft Exchange email account to Outlook on my PC but I use it only for email. The Exchange email account is NOT set up to sync with my iPhone. The Calendar and Contacts I use are in an Outlook Personal Folder and not the Contacts and Calendar associated with the Exchange account.
Ever since installing the Exchange account, the iPhone does not recognize my original Contacts and Calendar and is not syncing them. Instead it seems to sync the Exchange Contacts and Calendar, which are empty so now my phone has not Contact or Calendar data.
I have tried replacing Contacts and Calendar using the iTunes/Info/Advanced option but that didn’t work.
In iTunes/Info/Contacts and iTunes/Info/Calendars I don’t have an option to select multiple contact lists or calendars to synch.
How can I get it back to syncing the Contacts and Calendar I actually need?

I have the exact same problem and it drives me mad - thanks for letting me know if you find a solution. Here is what I will try: export all my contacts from where they are in the pst file in outlook then "try" to reimport them in the ost file (exchange). I noticed indeed that if I create a contact in the ost file, it does get pushed over to itunes.
But there seems to be no way of telling itunes which outlook data file to use in priority, and if you select it as default in outlook you wipe out the content of your mail file on the exchange server. Not great.

ITunes won't sync my contacts and calendars

I'm having some trouble syncing my contacts and calendars to my iPod, because iTunes say's it doesn't have any available, and then it asks me to open that application.
This started after I forcibly shut down my computer.
I've tried replacing the information by deleting all of my contacts and calendars, and restoring using the Backup application, and I still got the same message asking me if I wan't to open iCal/Address Book.
Any solution will be appreciated.

The most likely solution is to launch iSync
application ,and then in the preferences menu, click
on Reset Sync History button. This resets

Is this the only way to do this? I am sic and tired of reseting my sync data as .Mac seams to have plenty of it's own issues. I use several computers Two for work and an extra at the office and one extra at home that I would have to then on the next sync accept all of the diolog boxes to get the most recent sync data on each computer. You could try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923, then reinstalling iTunes. This will replace a potentially corrupt Outlook plugin. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

Media is only where the user puts it.
Installing iTunes does not and has never caused media to magically appear on the computer.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.

I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and until I "upgraded" to maverick I was able to sync my calendar and contacts using Blackberry desktop. Now I see the error sync service disabled. Looking on your help there doesn't seem to be anything that tells me how to enable sync ..
However, hunting around I can find sync services but am unable to do anything with them - i.e. no preferences, etc.
I've looked at your "Advanced" help and the help refers to earlier versions of OSX.

i used Q10 for a month with my icloud account for calendar and contact.. after few days of "honeymoon", the sync suddenly failed! and no more cal sync, and even the contact is.... sigh.... totally messly!
and you will find that... no help from BB, no advise from BB, (may be the said advise is the best answer from BB), no one cares the issue.
Yes! i agree with you! the keyboard is great!!! some of the new features are wonderful.... but those basic function.... hahaha!! no more!
I feel very disappointed to BB and go back to my ip5... but i keep the q10 in my room... i'm still waiting one day, the bugs are fixed...

Ipod Classic 80 & iTunes 9 syncing of contact and calendars no longer

Itunes 9 doesn't seem to allow my 80 gg ipod classic to sync contacts and calendars. It says I don't have and and would I like to open iCal/Address Book to create some. I did get one notice that itunes no longer syncs contacts on my ipod... it appeared so fast that I didn't get all of what it stated. Had something about would I like my contacts to be cleared from my ipod. Fortunately they are still on my iPod. Can't believe something as simple as syncing a little contact or calendar file to my somewhat recent ipod no longer is a feature. What up with that. Am I missing something

Having the same problem, and I found a temporary fix. In iCal select the calendar you want on the iPod (you may have to do this multiple times if you want multiple calendars on there) and go to File>Export... name the file as "iSync-whatever your calendar name is" (not sure if the iSync prefix is necessary, but that's what the synced calendars on the iPod look like).
For this next part you need to enable disk usage (a pain, I know, but hopefully this will only be temporary). Go to your iPod>Calendars and drag the .ics file you just exported in there. Then you can turn disk usage off (if you don't plan on doing this several times, if so then better just leave it on till a patch comes out) and eject it.
