AppData Files for Adobe over large

Windows 7 Professional
hard drive C is 256 GB - it is a solid state drive.
The AppData folder is 101 GB  under "Users/Stephen/AppData/Roaming/Adobe" is 96 GB in the Adobe folder alone. This is excessive. It has used up my hard drive and needs to be cleaned out. I can no longer run Creative Cloud.  How do I empty it of the excess stuff?
I have found the offending folder under Adobe/Common/Media Cache Files.  How do I clear all these files out. Some are audio files. Some are video related files.  I do 4 videos of 30 to 40 minutes a week. I attach a separate audio to the video. It is HD stuff. I use Premere Pro and Audition for this stuff. It includes IMS, CFA, PEK, PRMDC, MPGINDEX, Files.  Why do I need duplicate files on this C: hard drive of what I keep on my other hard drives to keep this hard drive free for programs and all the Cloud stuff? There has to be a way to clean this stuff out.

John:
Thank you for your reply! It gave me some ideas for a work around.
Yet the links you gave does not address the fundamental problem.
I had already changed to a second drive as you suggested for my temporary files while setting up my project. I learned that a while back.  That worked in that I would have had another 90 TB of used space moved off of C: drive. But this does not solve why so much space is ALSO being used on the C: drive. I find no work around for this.  Is it a bug that needs to be reported.  How does someone who has a small laptop have a chance? I did go into the directory mentioned above and delete all of last year's work, but this is not proper software control. The C: drive problem should take care of itself or have a button to use to make all of this space usage to go away.
Does Adobe read posts like this?
Again, THANKS.

    Problem opening PDF files for Adobe Reader.
    I installed the latest adobe reader for my Mac. Everything is set up. Every time i go to open a pdf file, this shows up...
    "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch adobe reader and accept the End User Licence Agreement, then quit and relaunch the browser."
    I installed it through the adobe reader website for free. And even though it says 'by clicking "install now" you are agreeing to accept the user licence agreement terms and conditions' it still says i need to accept the T&C's.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and same thing over and over again.
    Can someone help!?!?!

    Did you actually try doing what the message suggests?  Open Adobe Reader and accept the EULA?

  • Is the installation file for adobe reader, the same for all the versions of windows ? Is it ?

    Hello,
    I want to know if the installation file for adobe reader is it the same for all the windows ?
    It is because I have to do an automatic installation for XP, seven and windows 8...
    It is also the same between 32bits and 64bits ?
    Thanks.
    Best regards

    It may be worth mentioning two things.
    1. Adobe provide extensive information on Enterprise Deployment of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
    2. You may well need a redistribution license to do this, if you are installing on behalf of anyone (accepting EULA for them), pushing, or hosting etc.

  • Where can I get a download file for Adobe Acrobat X Standard?

    I need a download file for Adobe Acrobat X Standard. I have an installation CD & serial # that was never activated, but the computer I'm trying to put it on does not have a CD drive. Is there anywhere I can find a download file for this?

    As long as it is not a Mac there is a chance the download can be found on the following page:
    Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X
    I say "a chance" because Acrobat Standard tends to be an issue when it comes to download availability ...  give it a try.

  • Files for Adobe Reader Cause Crash

    Every time I try to open a file for adobe reader, whether I get it embedded in my browser or download it from the internet either Safari crashes or Adobe Reader application crashes no matter what it is. I switched to firefox because Safari kept unexpectedly quitting constantly and it was becoming so frequent that I couldn't even do anything. Any advice on how to get the adobe reader plugin for safari to work(which i did install)? Or how to get any files to work? My friend has this same problem on her iBook, too.

    Hello David:
    First, I would trash the Safari preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart. Then I would uninstall the current Adobe reader you have installed (get all of it) and then download the latest version from the Adobe web site. FWIW, I have no trouble at all with either safari or reading PDF files.

    Yes LevelUp is a great idea.  It's a free game that teaches you how to use Photoshop through a series of missions.  After you install it, just go to Windows > Extensions > LevelUp for Photoshop to open the plug-in: http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5146133-307202/450-323/LevelUp .png

    Hi Bernd,
    Thanks very much for your reply.  Based upon your assertion that "ReadOutLoud.api" is part of the "typical" Adobe Reader installation, I searched for and found how to activate and use it (from the "View" menu).  It couldn't be more simple - most operations like this are "really very easy" the *second and subsequent times* that you perform them. :-)))
    thanks again, and best regards...   ...jkashn

  • Files for Adobe PS Elements 3 - Classroom in a Book - CD missing from book

    Good morning,
    I recently purchased a 'used' copy of the above book (ISBN:  0-321-27080-0) from Fishpond.com.au.  Upon receiving the book I noticed that the support CD which has the files for retrieval to complete the exercises was missing.  I have contacted Fishpond and they are looking into it to see if they can get a CD from their supplier in the US.
    I wanted to ask failing that, am I able to get a copy of the required files from adobe?
    I tried posting this question on the adobe customer service part of their website but it didn't really fit their selection criteria and wouldn't allow me to get past the first screen.
    Tks for your assistance.

    Thank you for your email.  I ended up returning the book as they didn't seem
    to be able to find the CD and nothing was happening.  I am presently waiting
    for a refund.  I have since ordered another book from the US (through
    Amazon.com) which had the CD with it; so all OK.  A learning experience -
    always check if a CD comes with a book that it's actually there and works!
    Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my query - it was very
    frustrating initially.

  • Creating FCE files for Adobe Premier

    I have miniDV videotapes of some corporate presentations that I need to provide in a format to a client so they can use it on their intranet.
    In providing DVD's burned on my Panasonic consumer deck, they have not been able to get the media off the DVD's very effectively. All kinds of problems. Who knows what codec is used on this stuff? I suspect the problems lies therein.
    Client is working with Adobe Premier to title and segment the training media, and to create files for their server., I suspect.
    Can you suggest how I might be able to take my miniDV's and create them in a digital file format that would be compatible with their Adobe Premier? I only have Final Cut Express which I use to import taped media onto my hard disk. But if they were to provide me with an external drive, can I create compatible files using Final Cut Express that would work with Premier? What format would that be? (And FYI - I'm a Mac guy. They're probably PC.)

    Thanks so much.
    The standard def DVD's I've made have been straight from the camera into the DVD recorder. Recorded in SP mode using rca connections. New HD Canon XH-A1S camera I have does not have s-video connection for better video (thus RCA's), but that is neither here nor there.
    Anyway, is QT, just plain simple QT? Or are there various QT formats that could be created for Premier using FCE (and which would be best)?

  • Missing the install.app file for Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended...

    Recently, I purchased a new Mac computer. We noticed there was not a CD drive, so we moved the Photoshop files over to a USB from my old computer. But, when we tried to open and install Photoshop, the install.app file was missing. The other install files were only compatible with Windows computers.
    Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

    So, I checked out the second linnk and it says something about needing an upgrade if I don't have to most recent version? Does that mean I'll need to upgrade to Photoshop CC before I can get a cross grade? Or can I keep the CS6 Extended version?
    Adobe loves confusing people with their marketing copy. Without trying, they often obfuscate the simplest of processes with poor wording.
    The platform swap process only applies to perpetually licensed versions since they're tied to platform specific serial numbers: Mac or Windows, never both ( applies to CS6 and lower). Not CC which is licensed for both Mac and/or Windows via your Adobe ID, so there's no platform swapping necessary.
    What Adobe is trying to say is that you can only swap platforms for the most current perpetually licensed version.
    e.g. CS6 Windows can be transferred to CS6 Mac.
    However, CS5 Windows cannot be transferred to CS5 Mac. You must pay the upgrade cost from CS5 to CS6 and swap platforms at the same time (that's a crossgrade). e.g. CS5 Windows to CS6 Mac is OK.
    Photoshop CC is entirely different. It is available to anyone but only via subscription, even without ever previously owning any Adobe software. There's no upgrading or crossgrading. You simply join up - but keep in mind that you never own the software.
    You don't need CS5 or CS6 to start subscribing to Photoshop CC. There's no connection with your CS5 license other than you can use your CS5 license to get a discounted rate for the first 12 months of CC membership.

  • Android APK Expansion Files for Apps over 50MB

    Hello Support,
    We are building a new version of an app pubished on PlayStore (built with Adobe AIR) and need to embed higher resolution images. This results in my app apk file size which is over 100 MB.
    Google allows to upload apks that are <= 50 MB. For apps which require more storage capacity than this limit, expansion files are needed.
    Can you please inform us about how to incorporate these expansion files with an AIR app?
    Is there a native extension or a built-in feature to prepare the expansion files and surpass the limit?
    I've looked in the forums & there is no definite answer or solution.
    If this is not possible at present, can you please add it to the wishlist for the next version of Adobe AIR SDK? Or perhaps, release a free/paid native-extension which enables this.
    Thanks!

    Yes I got it working this morning, honestly I've got no idea what did the trick, as I did nothing. My only guess right now is I reuploaded new versions of my APK and OBB files on the Android Developer Console yesterday, and maybe it could have taken this long to "refresh".
    Basically right now if I install a fresh apk on the device, it will downloads and unzip my obb. If I kill the app and relaunch, it validates if my obb is still there and continues, when before a simple message box with my app name would stay displayed forever.
    Here's my app code based on the exemple from http://extensionsforair.com/extensions/apk-expansion-files/ :
    public class Main extends Sprite
                        public function Main():void
                                  stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
                                  stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;

                                  addChild(Console.GetInstance());
                                  Console.Trace("Start");

  • Extracting a .zxp file for Adobe add-on for Photoshop  .

    I bought and downloaded the 8Watercolor and Acrylic Painting FX add-on for Photoshop but receive an error "The installed file is invalid. The extension will not be installed."  Any idea on how to correct this?

    Is the plug-in you purchased compatible with the version of Photoshop you are running on your computer? What version of Photoshop are you running?
    I'm assuming you tried installing by double-clicking the .zxp file? and that doesn't work?
    Have you tried installing the plug-in using the Adobe Extensions Manager application?
    Launch the Adobe Extensions Manager application.
    Click Install and navigate to the .zxp file on your system, then follow the prompts.
    Are you seeing the same error, and the plug-in is definitely compatible with your version of Photoshop, it might help to contact the plug-in developer for some more help.
