Appearance of Digital Signature in Adobe Acrobat 8

I am creating a digital Signature in Adobe Acrobat 8 and am having difficulty getting all the information to appear clearly. The first example below shows, the signature, name and date. I would also like to include the name of the Company. The only way I have been able to do that is by clicking the “distinguished name” box in the appearance section of the digital signatures. An example of this signature is also shown below. However, additional information such as the name (again), email and country are also being listed. There are numerous abbreviations and equal signs now appearing as well. Ideally I would like the signature to look like the first one with the company name appearing just above the person’s name. Can anyone help me do this?
Thank you!

Hi,
For the first problem (word wrap).  The problem you are encountering is if "Maryanne Doe" is too long to fit in half of the signature field, the text wraps to the next line. The signature appearance that is written into the signature field consists of two halves. The left half contains the graphic properties and the right half contains the text properties.
You need to lengthen the width of the area where the graphics portion of the signature is contained. You can do this one of two way. Either lengthen the physical dimensions of the signature field before you sign. Or, you could create a custom signature appearance where you turn off all of the text properties, which has the effect of giving the whole signature fields over to the graphics portion. To play with custom signature appearances:
Select the Edit > Preferences (Win) or the Acrobat > Preferences (Mac) menu item
Select Security from the Categories list box
Click the New button in the Appearance group box
If you select the No Graphic radio button you give all of the space to the text portion. If you deselect all of the checkboxes in the Configure Text area, you give all of the space to the graphics portion.
While you are in the Preferences dialog, select Identity from the Categories list box. Go ahead and fill in all of the editable fields. This is where the data is procured during the creation of a self-signed digital ID. I think that will fix the second issue you raised.

  • How do I remove a digital signature from Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I have set it up wrongly.

I created a digital signature but I wanted to change the signature and it also was not password protected. So I deleted the signature but cannot delete the certificate to set it up again.
    Mac OS X (Operating System)
So I am unable to delete the digital signature in Acrobat Xi pro.
I did the following: Adobe | Preferences | Signatures | Creation and Appearance Preferences and deleted the signature. But Adobe | Preferences | Signatures | Digittal ID and Trusted Certificate Settings, does not want to delete.
    Tank you.

It's not clear to me what you're trying to accomplish. If you get rid of your digital ID you will still be prompted to create/add one when you need to sign a form, which you say you still need to do? Do you really just want to e-sign (hand-drawn signature, or stamp) instead of digitally sign? Do the forms you're using have digital signature fields?

  • How do I delete a digital signature in adobe acrobat 8 as it has been spelt incorrectly?

A digital signature was created in adobe acrobat 8 professional but has been spelt incorrectly - how can I delete or edit it?

    What if you do this:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.
But I do not think it will work since you can only sync/unsync with one iTunes library and the iPod sees the rebuilt computer as a new iTunes library.
    - Do the following to restore the iPod and not lose anything:
    - iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - If you have synced photos then you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView which are paid. They also do music.
    - Connect the iPod to the conmputer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices iniTunes and slect Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

  • How do I delete all existing digital signatures in Adobe Acrobat?

There must be a way to do it. Can anyone assist? Thank you.

Thanks so much  for the detailed explanation!
Let me give a little more detail and better explanation of what  I have done.
    1.      I digitally signed (with a digital id” I had created) a document to be filed with an agency.
    2.      This “signature” ( digital id) had information that included my name, time, date and an acrobat watermark in red.
Essentially typed information that proved the document came from my computer (me?).
    3.      I was informed that I would have to sign in ink, scan  to PDF, and upload  it to them, or
    4.      Create a “digital signature” that had my name, address, phone, fax, email, etc., and upload that to them.
    5.      I tried to create such a digital signature (after reading your email perhaps I was off base a bit) without success- the place I was attempting this using “PKCS#12 digital ID File”  but it allowed only limited information to be input and required a password.
    6.      I then deleted  my old digital id in “security settings” in order to again try to create a new digital “signature” using the “PKCS#12 digital ID File” format.
    7.      I now am still attempting to create a new digital “signature” and when I get to the last set up page for the “PKCS#12 digital ID File”  (where it asks for a file location and password “for your new digital ID file”), by selecting “add digital id” and hit the bullet for “a new digital id I want to create now.” In the last page of these creation pages there is a “file name” box and a “password” box.
I think this is asking for my forgotten password which I cannot remember. If it was asking for a new password, I recall two password boxes to insure the password it typed correctly.
So I am stuck, I cannot create a new “digital id”  which I thought was a digital “signature” and have deleted my old digital id.
In the past I have use a scanned “signature”  as in read below but became afraid it could be manipulated in some fashion  in important documents and that is why I started using the digital id  in Acrobat X, which I thought was a digital “signature”.
So, how far off base am I?  What do I do now that I have deleted my digital id in security settings?
Thanks so much for your help.

  • Multiple Digital Signatures in Adobe Acrobat XI - PDF locks after first signature is saved

I am working with a fillable pdf that was set up by an administrator to have multiple DIGITAL ID/SIGNATURES inputted, i.e. it does not allow images of signatures or text; when you click on the signature field, it ONLY prompts the insertion of a Digital ID. This form requires multiple signatures and editing/text from diverse people. I need to sign it and then circulate it to these other people. For some reason, when I insert the first digital ID and save it, the pdf becomes locked - it is no longer fillable, and no one else can edit or even insert their own signatures. What can I do to allow editing/additional signatures to be inputted after putting in my signature and saving the document? PLEASE HELP.

I don't know where I could post it...Could you please tell me how I might check if signature fields are set to "read only" or not? I have been looking through this pdf for so long and I don't even see the option to do that. When I click on the signature field, it just prompts me to insert the digital signature...there isn't much information displayed at all.

  • Digital Signatures in Adobe 8 Professional

I have 2 questions regarding digital signatures in Adobe Acrobat Professional
1.) Is it possible to digitally sign a document multiple times without having to resave the document each time you sign?  This would be really helpful in dealing with contracts in adobe where multiple signatures are required.
2.) If you email a pdf with digital signatures is it possible for the recipient to delete these signatures?  Or to not be able to view them?
    Thanks a lot!

Regarding #1, the short answer is no. Every time the file is digitally signed it necessitates it being saved. That's what allow "View Signed Version" and signature roll back to work.
As for # 2, it depends on the version of Acrobat. Versions 6 and 7 allowed anyone to remove a signature as long as it wasn't a certifying signature. In the case of the certifying signature on the signer could remove. Beginning with version 8 you can only clear if you have access to the digital ID that was used to create the signature.

  • Problem creating PKCS# 12 Digital Signature in Adobe Reader X - where do I confirm the Password?

I cannot create a PKCS# 12 Digital Signature in Adobe Reader X. It says the passwords don't match when I create it. The problem is, I never was asked to confirm the P/W when I created it. It asked once for the P/W and then the only thing I can do is click "Finish" and then it says my P/W don't match. I am able to create a DS on my other computer using Reader 9 (and it did ask me to confirm the P/W when creating). I have re-booted my computer and still it will not work.

You'll need to ask in the Acrobat Pro forum. There are people there with expertise who can answer this. I use Acrobat myself, but I'm a novice when it comes to signature settings.

  • Can I create PAdES signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?

    Hi
Can I create PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures, Technical Specification ETSI TS 102 778) signature using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or 9.0?
ETSI Technical Specification (TS) 102 778 contains five parts:
    • Part 1: PAdES Overview – a framework document for PAdES
    • Part 2: PAdES Basic – Profile based on ISO 32000-1
    • Part 3: PAdES Enhanced – PAdES-Basic Electronic Signatures and PAdES-Explicit Policy Electronic Signatures Profiles
    • Part 4: PAdES Long Term – PAdES-Long Term Validation Profile
    • Part 5: PAdES for XML Content – Profiles for XAdES signatures of XML content in PDF files
All five parts were published on 31 July 2009.
    Thanks for answer.
    Dragan

    Hi,
    The short answer is yes.
Acrobat 8 and later support all of requirements of PAdES such as serial signing, long term validation (time stamping and embedded revocation responses) and signatures in the PKCS#7 format.

  • How to create a digital signature in adobe reader

how to create a digital signature in adobe reader?

Adobe Reader Touch (Windows Store app with "modern" UI) does not support any types of signatures yet.
    Digital Signatures with certificates
Electronic Signatures (that are legally enforceable)
Signature annotations (hand-writing annotations which may not be secure and legally enforceable)
Adobe Reader XI (traditional desktop app with classic UI) supports #1 and #3.
    Adobe EchoSign supports #2.
Adobe Reader for iOS/Android supports #3.

  • ADOBE Form - How to include digital signatures in adobe forms?

    Hi all,
Can any one tell me the procedure for including a digital signature in adobe form?
    Thanks,
    Vineel.

    Hi,
If you have a third party software which captures the signatures (Ex: ePad), then you can have that integrated to SAP where all the signatures get stored as in SE78. From here you can insert directly in Adobe Form using Graphic Content method in an image field. Hope this is helpful for you.

  • Implement Digital signatures in adobe using sap

how do i implement digital signatures in adobe using sap web dynpro netweaver and abap for backend? if you can provide some documents or links that can help for the same.

    Hello,
You can add digital signatures and/or encryption to the document going out of the SAP system.
To add a signature from WDA you can use the PDFObject API.
