Could be a third party app preventing you from being able to login.

If it's not a third party issue, follow the instructions here.
Quit the MAS if it's open.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS.

Permanently Removing a Program Icon From the Taskbar

I'm runnning Windows 7 and have the Skype icon both on the desktop & the taskbar - is there a way to remove it permanently from the taskbar ? if I right click the taskbar icon & pick quit Skype it is removed but reappears when I open Skype from the desktop icon ??

have had my Lenovo laptop since last Nov. with Skype pre-installed - a couple of days ago a message appeared on the screen saying that Skype wanted to make changes to the HD - thought it was an upgrade and/or update - but now when I open Skype via the desktop shortcut icon a Skype icon also moves to the taskbar at the bottom.
has anyone else experienced this ? and does anyone know how to suppress this from happening ? I only want to open Skype from the desktop shortcut and then close Skype by X-ing out of the Skype window.

Hi Poornima,
you should follow Uwe's suggestion. The only alternative I can imagine is dynamic document in a dialog container. But I don't know any standardized classes to make use with minimum effort. Have a look at report DD_ADD_FORM_INPUT. Here they put the input field in a container control in a screen; you can put the container control on a dialog container (CL_GUI_DIALOGBOX_CONTAINER).
We will not get rid of any screen for the time being, but if your application is started from any screen, the DIALOGBOX_CONTAINER can start from there.

After loading the latest Aperture 3 update, aperture will not load and it appears to have corrupted 10.6. 10.6.7 now appears to be missing from the computer and my administrator status has changed to standard.

Update Software says I need to do update to 10.6.7 which I can't do because administrator privileges are gone. I didn't back-up with Time Machine ,BAD, but I have all files backed-up on another hard drive. Should I just reformat and start over? Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

PROBLEM SOLVED! For me at least!
Apple Support gave me the clue - I had run Migration Assistant, and it had obligingly replaced a system file (/Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager) with the equivalent from my old system.
I reinstalled 10.6.7 using the DVD supplied and all is well.
The moral is - don't use Migration Assistant.
Along the way Apple Support provided me with a link to download Combo update 10.6.7: this could not be installed on my iMac.

Restart the computer while holding down the eject key, continue to hold it down and in most cases the disc will come out. What you did was a PRAM reset, that doesn't eject a disc but it is useful for other issues.

It sounds like you purchased your device in a different country than the one you reside in and want to change the currency symbol typed from the keyboard. The article linked below will provide details about changing your MacBook Airs region and currency format.

Our colleagues receive the pop-up from MS Word 2003 (Office Package) from the Word Editor in Ta ME23N "
save this file" during the visit of standard text , opend from Word Editor and they didnt change and
copyed or whatever the standard text, the box "Always appears before leaving this part of the transaction", then they click the abort
button. The sapscriptwordtemplate.dot file is always be named ( AND LOCATED ON A NETSHARE)
Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Transaction OAOR is checked, Word2007template.dotm and word2007template are actual.
The autorizations on the filefolder are read, write, Folderentry list, Read are the settings!!!
Whats the reason , that the popup occurs?

How do I show and hide the different toolbars?
Most toolbars can be shown or hidden depending on your needs. To show or hide a toolbar, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and check or uncheck it in the pop-up menu.

T400s appears to be gone from the Lenovo site

Anyone know if the T400s is coming back to the Lenovo site? All I see is the T400, T500 and T410. I did read that Lenovo is backed up on T410s and T510 orders, and that's why they are not there at the moment. I would think they'd still have a stack of T400s boxes to sell.

I thought it was a hardware issue. In about 25 days as you can see from the thread, I was provided a new driver by a technician who worked on the problem and came up with a solution. The shutdown problem is much more difficult to deal with. It takes time to collect sample units, trigger the shutdowns, look for reasons, and come up with solutions.

I have the combined printer,scan,copy fax device (HP 5600). My Imac installs the printer but will not read the CD.
I miss a toolbox for the rest of the functions.

Download, mount, and install with an administrator privileged account.
You can double-check whether you had success or not, by going to "Apple Menu/System Preferences" and selecting "Print & Fax." HP Officejet 5600 series should appear in the pane of available printers. If it does not, you can try 'adding a printer' and selecting your printer from the appearing list (provided it is turned on and connected to the computer).
As pointed out, this is an unofficial and non-supported workaround I discovered yesterday. It worked for me and I need printing capability until HP/Apple get the official driver ready. I was in such a hurry, like many of you, to upgrade to SL (Snow Leopard) that I had forgotten to wait for the bugs to be worked out first.
