Settings>General>International>Calendar Make sure it's set to "Gregorian". I bet you've got it set to Buddhist.

Since purchasing my iPad in April of this year, my calendar has been in the year 2556. I brought it back to Verizon and they want to "reboot" the iPad and I'll lose everything on it (so they say). Any ideas? I just noticed tonight, as well, that my camera no longer works in video mode. I'm afraid I have a defective iPad.

You have your calendar set to budhist.
Settings-general-international-calender.
Set it to gregorian.

ITunes Does Not Appear in the List of Default Programs?

My wife is trying to get iTunes to be her default media player, using the instructions found at this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3202.
However, when she goes to the list of default programs, following steps 1 and 2 at that link, iTunes does not appear in the list.
How can we correct this?

I was having this same problem. I understood how to change the default program but like yours my iTunes was not in the list so therefore I was unable to set it to default.
This worked for me: (I have Vista)
I checked for updates on my iTunes program and there was an overdue update. I installed and restarted iTunes. Then went to my Default Programs tab and followed the instructions just as described in the support material and after my installation of the newest update my iTunes was now listed in the lineup of available default programs.

Just installed DVD Studio Pro 2 in Power Book G4 Lap but I cant view Subtitles in the grew square while typing the text. I see the text in the Inspector but nothing appears in the grew square. Once finished the subtitle I run the sceen and see the subtitl

I see the text that I am typing in the Inspector Window but the grew square in the Monitor Window seemes empty. Once I finished the subtitle I can run the video and the subtitle appears in color, font and size chosen. Creating the next subtitle I can even go to the one before click once over the subtitle, then click above to get the videoline tool over the subtitle and I will see the subtitle in the Monitor and editing the text in the Inspector I can see the changes in the Monitor. But as soon as I doble click the grew square appears and the text dissapears. Sin doubt the text is there because I can select the invisible text with "Apple"+"A", and then change fonts and sizes and it works. In Color settings I tried every posible combination of Mapping types, color and opacity. In DVD Preference I checked the subtitle settings. The monitor text defaults work perfectly and double clicking texts in the Monitor window where a grew sqaure appears and the text is visible just works correctly. Somebody can help? Do I need to change some configuration in the LAP?

The Get Info dialog should look something like this:
The "Change All" button should be at the bottom of the "Open With" section. This is how it appears in Snow Leopard. Other OSX versions many be slightly different.
If something is changing the setting back to something else you may have a deeper problem than I am able to help you with. What is appearing in the Open with area before you correct it?
If the problem is still persisting, instead of double clicking on the file to open it, try right or control clicking and then select Open With and choose the proper app from the list.

When searching the calendar in list view, appointments erlier than a few years could not be found after search. en appointment from 1974 could not be found although it appears in the list.

This type of response is not just unhelpful—it is the antithesis of helpful.
This is a support forum. Its purpose is helping to resolve people's problems. Sometimes those problems are going to require long explanations or lots of information. That either comes out in the original post or over the course of several back-and-forth replies; the former produces long posts but takes less time overall than the latter.
If you don't have the patience to read through a long post, then just move on. Posting a "too long, didn't read" comment adds nothing beneficial to anyone. Yes, my post was long. Had you read it, you might have understood why it's so long. I'm trying to provide information that people searching these forums about this problem might find helpful. I did this because when I searched for info on this problem, I found lots of people with a similar problem, but no answers that went beyond "restore from backup". Since that advice wasn't the solution for me, I decided that more information might prompt someone with more knowledge and access than I have to investigate. Since you couldn't be bothered to read it, you clearly aren't the kind of person whose attention I was hoping to catch.
Certainly I could have made the post shorter, but I think putting it into a narrative like this makes it easier to follow and provides a context that a terse recitation of bare facts does not. When i use Ical, ( dayly, week, month ) i can have lot of distinct colors for each days, few colors in the same day,
When i use Ical ( year ) just one color appear each day,
Can i change that to have the same wiev of day in each calendar ( ex: in the year calendar, how to see i've doctor the 2013 01 10 in blue

Each time I start up my MacBook Air a document appears on the desk top -calendarlogging.txt I'm synching my calendar with iCloud. Using Mavericks, but the same file was appearing using Lion. Any thoughts. Thanks

Each time I start up my MacBook Air a text file appears on the desk top (calendarlogging,txt) the file/document contains lines of code. I'm using iCloud to synch my calendar to multiple other devices - iMac, iPad and iPhone. Using Maverick on both my iMac and my MacBook Air. The file was also showing up on the desktop when I was using Lion. Any thoughts?

To anyone who might read this, I ended up re-installing with the original install disc and was able to get back on to Mac, though I lost all of the previous data that I had not backed up. Unsure still if it will continue to let me access the HDD in this, but it kind of confirms that installing Lion probably put too much stress on the computer this last year.

HT201412 I cannot open the month of March 2013 in my iPad3 calendar. I can however see it in the year view for 2013 and I can view the daily and weekly calendars for March 2013. Any ideas what has gone wrong ? Thanks

I have a new iPad3 and have found I cannot open the month of March 2013 when I tap on it. All other months open OK ! I can see March 2013 in the yearly view and I can open the individual days, and weeks, of March 2013 but I cannot see the whole month in the monthly view. When I try to open the monthly view for March 2013 it returns me to the start screen which shows all the apps etc and closes the Calendar app. Any guidance of what is going wrong and how it can be corrected. Reminders is a separate app from Calendars.
Appointments are in Calendar and remonders are in Reminder.

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

The "Year" on my calendar is off, how can I fix it?

On my calendar it shows the year as "2557 BE." For example, on a monthly page, the top would be - "January 2557 BE." When setting events, the years I have is 2557 BE, 2558 BE, 2559 BE, and so on.
I played with the "Time Zone Support" in settings for a bit, but it didn't fix the problem.
Does anybody know how I can change the year to 2012? Thank you.

Go into Settings > General > International > Calendar and change it to Gregorian.

No account appear in the iTune Sync Calendars window ????

I have MBP 8GB 2012 model, OS X 10.8. iCloud is set up and runing fine. iCal on my MBP works fine, with icloud, on my Mac accounts and also some local accounts setup on our office network. My iPhone also works fine with syncs from the icloud and On My Mac accounts.
However when I open iTunes, open the INFO page, and try to sync just the iCal/selected calendars nothing appears in the window. The window is totally blank, even if I select All Calendars or Selected Calendars, nothing appears.
In our family there is an identical MBP, iphone - both with identical settings, however, the iCal Sync window shows all of the available calendars.

It sounds like you set everything up properly. Are your IAPs cleared for sale? Did you upload the screen shots as the final stage in iTunes Connect?

Why are all-day calendar events not appearing in the Notification Center?

I've noticed that all-day Calendar events do not appear in the Notfication Center in iOS. This is a glaring omission and I'm not sure if it's related to a bug or is intentional but it should be fixed right away. Why in the world would you leave out an all-day event from the Notification Center? What if I had a wedding anniversary or some other important event to remember?

IOS / is no out for a couple of weeks and Apple seems to be reluctant to fix this problem. As a business device it becomes rediculous to be not able to see my calender entries anymore in the notification center. Is Apple now leaving the business arena and focusing on toys ?

Where do you see the default birthday showing as Nov. 30? If you can explain that, I can probably modify the below script to do that clean up.

I'm not sure why I missed the original reply, but here is an Applescript that will change all the years of any selected contacts to 1604 (default for no year).
tell application "Contacts"
          set thePeople to selection
          repeat with aPerson in thePeople
                    set theDate to birth date of aPerson
                    if theDate is not missing value then
                              set the year of theDate to 1604
                              set birth date of aPerson to theDate
                    end if
          end repeat
end tell
copy and paste it into a new Applescript Editor document. Select all the contacts you want to change (in Contacts), then run this script by clicking on the green Run button in Applescript Editor.
