Appendices not auto-numbering in book

I'm using FM8. I've looked through the Forum and Knowledgebase for the past several hrs but have found nothing that helped solve my issue.
I have a book that contains 9 chapters and 2 appendices. In the book, chapter numbering is set to 1 for the first chap and Continue for the rest. Chapter numbering works fine. Also, page numbering is fine throughout the book.
For the appendices, the Chapter tab for the first appendix is set to Chapter #1 and Format ALPHABETIC (n). The second appendix is set to Continue Numbering.
In the appendix number paragraph style for both appendices, the Autonumber Format is set to Appendix
When I update my book, both appendices are numbered as A, and they both appear in the TOC as A.
I've tried setting the first appendix numbering to just and leaving the second one at
. Nothing changes.
There has to be a way to make this work besides manually setting each appendix number. Thanks for any help you can provide!

You need to twiddle the settings for the two Appendixes in the book file. In the book file, for the first Appendix, set the Chapter Number to start at A for the first file and to Continue Numbering for the second.
Save.
Then, in the appendix number paragraph style for both appendices, set Autonumber Format to Appendix <$Chapnum>. Save those files.
Then update.

  • SMS - Sending to numbers not in your address book and inserting smiley faces

    Hi
I'm new to the world of Blackberry and sorry if this has been posted elsewhere - I've trawled through and can't find anything similiar.
When composing SMS messages, I can only send to those people who are in my address book as the address book automatically opens when you select compose SMS.
Obviously there are times when you need to text to numbers not in your address book so how do you do it?
So far the only solution I have got is to add numbers to my address book and then delete them.  Surely there must be a way you can just enter the number manually when you need to?
Secondly is there a shortcut on the Blackberry Pearl to insert smiley faces in SMS messages without entering :-) manually?
    Thanks for your help
    Trish
    I love my Blackberry

You right. I misread. Hitting the SYM key is only for messenger, not for SMS. I didn't anyway to insert emoticons into an SMS message

  • Auto numbering tables

I am currently using FrameMaker 8.0 and have had a problem with the auto numbering of tables.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to auto number tables using different chapter numbers within the one document?
I know that it is possible to do this when the chapters are seperate documents within one book.
    E.g.
    First page - Chapter 1
    Table 1.1
    Table 1.2
    Next page - Chapter 2
    Table 2.1
    Table 2.2 etc.
For some reason when I try to do this any tables under Chapter 2 are still named Table 1.1 and Table 1.2 etc.
I have tried using a series but that still does not seem to work.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you both, this helped a great deal.<br /><br />However, I am still having trouble with one file in the book. It seems to be repeating the same chapter number not adding one when the style appears again.<br /><br />E.g. Page 1 has Chapter 1 (C:Chapter <n+>)<br />     Page 3 has Chapter 1 (which is meant to be Chapter 2)<br /><br />Also is there a way to continue the chapter numbers from a previous file in the book?<br /><br />E.g. File A has Chapters 1-4 in it<br />     File B has Chapters 5-8 in it<br /><br />At the moment they are restarting in each file.<br /><br />Any ideas?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Skye

  • Auto numbering in TOC tags

I am creating books that use auto numbering in the headings.
    For example:
    1.0 Introduction
    2.0 First chapter
    2.1 First topic
    2.2 Second topic
    2.2.1 Sub topic 1
When I generate the TOC, the numbers do not appear. I do not see any information in the User's Guide.
    I am using Framemaker 7.2.
    Any suggestions?

Go to the Reference Page(s) in the TOC file and scroll down until you find the collection of variables that generate the TOC contents. It'll look something like:
    openObjectId <$relfilename>:<$ObjectType> <$ObjectId>
    <$paratext> <$pagenum>
    <$paratext> <$pagenum>
    <$paratext> <$pagenum>
Each one of the lines is the format for a tag that should be included.
Scroll up and down to identify the tags that you want have display numbering.
Type in the para numbering variable, like this:
    <$paranum> <$paratext> <$pagenum>
Save the file and update the book....

  • How to delete previous invitee from apple iCal invite list? When inviting "Joe" an old Email address shows up. This person is literally dead! (may he rest peacefull) and I can't find his Email address to delete anywhere. Not in my address book

When sending calendar invite to "invitee" an old address appears. This guy is literally dead (may he rest in peace) and has same first name as person I send to all the time. So "dead" guy always pops up. Can't find his address to delete anywhere -- not in previous recipients, not in my address book, does not "auto-populate" when I try to send an Email. Still shows up everytime I want to send iCal invite. Spooky. Help me delete this guy from my iCal invitee options so he can truly rest in peace. Thanks!

  • Auto numbering is happening even when F11 is pressed

    Hi ,
We are developing a customer form wherein we have 2 data blocks . These two data blocks share the master-detail relationship. The detail block is a multi record block.
We are auto numbering an item <line_number> in the detail block following the steps mentioned in the metalink [ID 33342.1]
    https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/SearchDocDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=130989808463426&recommended=true&type=DOCUMENT&id=33342.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=ud1uneota_69
The steps mentioned in the link are generating numbers automatically when a new record is created and resequences the line numbers when a record is deleted. It works fine in these two scenarios.
But we have two issues here :
    1) The line numbers are getting generated even when we press F11 in th detail block. This should not happen in our form. (We need to suppress the auto numbering in F11 mode)
    2) If we move the cursor to a new record in the detail block, the line number gets generated there but if we move back to the previous record without entering anything in the new record, that new record does not disappear. It stays there .
Please let us know how can the above two issues be resolved
    TIA
    -SR

    Hi.
From what I saw on metalink note this is expected behavior. So the first problem is simply to solve, Just call :SYSTEM.MODE function and if it's result is ENTER-QUERY then do nothing (do not call resequence routine). As for the second problem there is a simple solution if your business logic can accept it. You could make one item in child block required. This way a user could not walk away from that record without deleting it first. If this solution is not applicable to you then you will have to manually program logic for this situation.
    Best regards.

  • Why is Mavericks Calendar not displaying numbers correctly?

My Calendar application is not displaying numbers correctly, I have tried validating my fonts and found nothing there, so not sure what the problem is...

Have yopu gone to Font Book
Font Book is located in the Applications folder (in the Finder, choose Go > Applications). To manage or view fonts, open Font Book, or double-click a font file.
High Light all the fonts    ( Shift and click 1st one  Shift and click last one) and
    then select File/Falidate Fonts
Then making sure all the fonts get a green tick box.

  • Address in "To" field not auto completing

When I type a contact name in the "To" field that is in my address book, the e-mail address is not auto completing. I had this happen before and figured it out but this time my memory isn't working.

    Hello Ernie,
That preference is checked. I seemed to have fixed the problem by rebuilding the inbox and restarting Mail. I'm not sure I see the connection but that seems to have done the trick.
    Have a good day.

  • How to use auto numbering with ENG_ECO_PUB.PROCESS_ECO (EBS version 12.1.1)

    Hi All,
I'm trying to create a new ECO using the PL/SQL API "ENG_ECO_PUB.PROCESS_ECO". I want the ECO name to be automatically assigned by the system but when leaving the ECO_NAME empty (in paramter P_ECO_REC) I get the error message:
"You must enter an ECO name and organization because they are the primary identifiers of a business object. Please ensure that these values exist in all your records and re-run the import process."
I have set the profile option "ENG: Change Order Autonumbering - System Administrator access" to yes.
I have set following fields in P_ECO_REC:
    p_eco_rec.organization_code := 'V1';
    p_eco_rec.change_type_code := 'ECO';
    p_eco_rec.description := 'Test';
    p_eco_rec.transaction_type := 'CREATE';
p_eco_rec.plm_or_erp_change := 'ERP'; -- also tried with 'PLM'
    p_eco_rec.approval_status_name := 'Approved';
Do I need to set anything else?

  • Auto Numbering at Campaign

    Dear,
I want to know how to set the Number at Campaign as Campaign ID.
The number will have a running number.
    I used CRM 4.0
    Please kindly anyone help me
    BR,
    Robin

    HI Robin,
sorry my answer was not clear enough.
CRM 4.0 is supporting the autonumbering. This auto-numbering is done via BAdi.
Consulting note 632622 will explain how to implement the Badi:   [632622|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=632622]
Consulting note 896045 will explain how to implement a number range you can reuse in the Badi: [896045|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=896045]
consulting note 965869 is the the equivalent of 632622 but for CRM 5.0. [965869|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=965869]
In you scenario you only need to use notes 632622 and 896045.
I hope this explanation is better.

  • Auto numbering ipad

Auto numbering i Need to make a sheet with numbers starting with 001 on my ipad but numbers automaticaly deletes the 00 when auto numbering. Does anyone know how to do this on an ipad?

That is because technically speaking "001" is not a number and Numbers for iOS doesn't handle special translatiosn of numbers - text very well, nor does the numbering format allow for leading charactes.

  • How do I turn off auto-numbering?

I want to turn off auto-numbering in iWeb. I tried doing it in the Inspector under Text/lists by selecting "none" but that didn't work. Can anyone help?

Thanks, Old Toad. I'll try it. While continuing to work the problem last night, I discovered if I hold down "shift" when I hit "return" to go to the next line, it suppresses numbering and I can do it myself, the old-fashioned way. I remember seeing that trick in another iWeb context in a Google search, but it appears to work on numbering, too.
Hey, if I want numbering, it's surely simple enough that I can do it myself, just like if I want to type the word "the"! I'm a touch typist, and I can fly when I get going, and any sort of "auto" function trips me out of the flow, actually making what I'm doing harder, not easier. The "shift-return" solution will also make it harder, until I get it down pat. Maybe one of these days the propellor beanies will bring in an actual user for a consult before they force such dubious improvements on the whole population. I'm sure there are folks who think this is cool, but that doesn't mean it's progress.
    Anyway, thanks for your help.
    Best,
    Steve

  • Auto-numbering of item field in custom table for EEW enhancements for BUPA

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to generat 3 custom tables in EEWB,for BUPA and assigned it to BP_HEAD. I have done all the generations and it works fine, the problem  is that the tables that are generated is not allowing us to have a data(material) of 0...n cardinality.
The table that we are aiming is to allow multiple records, so my solution is to have an extra item number field so that it will allow multiple records for a material. But users are requesting to have the item number field of the tables to be auto-numbering.
I would like to know if this autonumbering is possible or not? what methods in BP_EEW should i use to implement this logic. I 'm very new to CRM2007, so I'm still not very familiar on how to use the objects generated by the component workbench.
    p.s.
I've already search the forum but can find any relevant topic related to my request. If you have any known related topic, It would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    JP

    Dear Syed,
You can do many things in table maintenance screen like validation of some field, making some field required or displayed etc.
For auto increment you have to use Number-Ranges. FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT is helpful in this case.
Where to write the code??? The Function-Group you have made. There will be includes. You can easily locate the place to write these codes.
Caution point is that if you re-generate the table maintenance then all code will be gone.

    Deva.

  • How to auto-fill a book using only one master page

I'm designing a rather simple photo book in Aperture.  I have a master page setup with six 2x3 image boxes per page.  Each image box has a metadata field for caption and for date/time.  I want to select a large number of images and auto-fill the book using only this master page.  As you might guess, its just going to be a presentation of a large number of photographs, scrapbook style, with the caption and time of each image.  Nothing fancy, intentionally.
Problem is when I tell Aperture to auto-fill the images, if it needs a new page it randomly grabs a master page layout.  I want all pages to use only this specific master page.
Can this be done?  Adding my own pages and dragging and dropping images by hand will be too cumbersome when a book might have 300+ images in it.

Problem is when I tell Aperture to auto-fill the images, if it needs a new page it randomly grabs a master page layout.  I want all pages to use only this specific master page.
Create a new, empty version of your master page and duplicate it as often as you want using the key combination ⌘D. Delete all pages with a layout that you not want.
When you have enaough empty pages use auto-fill. It will fill the empty pages you just created.
For example - plenty of pages using the same master layout, auto-filled:

  • Auto numbering in an editable table cell

I created a dynamic table with add/delete row buttons and the second column with text fields.  The text field I want it to initially say <enter task 1> and <enter task 2> and when the user clicks on the add row button it would then say <enter task 3>.  I tried the patterns display but not sure how to get it to do auto numbering.  I also tried the formcalc script $ = Concat ("<Task", $.parent.index + 1, ">").  This seemed to work with the auto numbering but then I couldn't actually edit the boxes.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated...thank you.

Did you make the field as ReadOnly or Protected?
Also make sure where did you place your code? If it is in the Calculate event, the default is "Calculated - ReadOnly".
Placing the code in Initialize event might help.
    Thanks
