APPL_TOP_CSET

Hi,
I recently upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3. The application so far has been working fine.
But surprisingly today when i cheked APPL_TOP_CSET in CONTEXT_FILE for some issue it is set to UTF8 (in R12 Instance).
But in 11.5.10.2 it is different.
Can i change this APPL_TOP_CSET in R12 to the same as in 11i and RUN Autoconfig.????
Thanks

Thanks a lot for your reply. When you reply i feel so happy and get courage that the problem will be solved insha allah. Thanks for your kind words!
1. The value in 11i was AR8MSWIN1256
2. Yes, i have ARABIC as installed languagesUTF8 should not be an issue as it supports both languages you have.
I think i am hitting Bug 8766388 - RAPIDWIZ UPGRADE FILE SYSTEM DEFAULTS TO INCORRECT CHARACTERSET, But not sure.
Sorry, but I cannot find this bug via MOS website -- The only bug I can find is (Bug 9159283: INCORRECT CHARACTERSETS WHEN INSTALLING WITH CONFIG FILE).
As mentioned in the bug (and by you), you can change the characterset after the installation but personally I believe there is no point this new characterset support your installed languages and other languages you might to need to install in the future. Please note that AR8MSWIN1256 supports English and Arabic only.
If you still want to change the characterset, then stop the services, edit the context file and run AutoConfig -- Please make sure you take a backup before doing so and try this on a test instance first.
Thanks,
Hussein
