when I open Mail, Firefox... the windows are always a different size from the previous time...i.e. Mail will open about 4 x 6 then I manual change it to full size, next time I open mail it could be 6 x 8, why will it not stay at the size I changed it to?

Many, if not most, programs should save their window positions and sizes in their preferences files. To reset the prefs file for Firefox, first, make sure Firefox isn't running.
Now, look in your home folder for a folder called "Library". In that folder is an "Application Support" Folder with a "Firefox" folder. The "Firefox" folder will have a "Profiles" folder. Open that and you'll see one or more folders for your different Firefox profiles. I only have one. Inside that folder is a file called "localstore.rdf". Drag that out to your desktop and restart Firefox. Move your window around and resize it. Quit Firefox and restart and your window size and position should be saved.
This page at the mozillaZine site has an alternative method. Note, that some of your customizations will be gone when you restart Firefox.
Once you are satisfied with your new settings, you can put the old "localstore.rdf" file on your desktop into the Trash and empty it.
As for Mail, its window preferences are stored in a file called "com.apple.mail.plist" in the "Preferences" folder in the "Library" folder inside your home directory. If you drag that file to the desktop (make sure Mail isn't running), another one will be created when you restart Mail.
However, I found that when I did that, my settings appeared to be very strange. For example, I had a couple of missing mail accounts. I didn't want to mess around too much, since they're work related. Also, you might post your question about Mail in the Tiger Mail discussion discussion. There might be someone there who's more experienced with this kind of problem.

Opening a file with MPlayer in Nautilus

I am running Gnome3 and have mplayer2 installed. I was wondering if its possible to get it so that if I double click a *.mkv or *.avi file in 'Files' then it would be opened with mplayer2.
If I right click and select 'Open with other application' then mplayer isn't an option.

You can create a text file in /usr/share/applications(or ~/.local/usr/applacations) and name it MPlayer2.desktop
Now edit the file and paste:

Now mark it as executable, go to your .mkv file and choose 'open with' you should be able to use MPlayer2 now.

HTML Container - pdf-file opens a new window

I use the ITS Webservice PZ04.
There is included a html container who shows the pdf-file inside this area.
Now I have the effect, that this pdf-file will opena a new window, but not inside the html container!?
First action before I have had this effect was the MS question-alert 'How you will open this file' Open/Download/Cancel - you know. - it never done before -
What can I do to open my pdf-file inside the html container? It runs some times.

thank you for your answer, but it wasn't the solution.
I don't open the iView in a new window.
I open the iView (as IAC WebService via ITS) and the applacation generated a html container with pdf file!
And this pdf-file opens in a new window.
The Application runs up to now very good.
I think any value was changed and I don't know which.
It's possible the modification solved under MS or adobe!?
Solution: First Deinstallation and then Installation of Acrobate Reader.

Applacation Manager

Hey I tried to open photoshop cs6 and cs5 and both say they need applacation manager so i downloaded that and ran the install about 12 times and it still has the error if you can help that would be great thx

Can you please provide the exact error message? Also which opertaing system are you using? Besides downloading the Adobe Application Manager what other steps have you performed?

Open and cancelled Quote Report

I hope you are using reason for rejection for cancelling quotations. If that is the case, you can use transaction VA25 to view the list of quotations. Here you can filter on two columns status and reason for rejection to view the report as per your requirement.

Find open and close smart quotes

Dear scripter,
Here I am trying find whether all the open double smart quotes(") are closed with close double smart quotes("). Here is my small work to find how many open and close quotes.

You'd have to look for unmatched quotes, in this case two cases of two open quotes without an intervening closed quote. This is difficult to script in CS2 because it doesn't have GREP natively and because of footnote problems. In CS3/4 it should be possible. But even then it will work only if you don't have quotes within quotes.

Same EPM Excel Report takes time to open and refresh on 1 system while it opens and refreshes faster on other system

I am facing an issue where the EPM Excel Templates on SERVER ROOT FOLDER take time to open on 1 system . It also takes great amount of time to REFRESH . While on an another system the same Report opens rather quickly and refreshes also quickly .

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. How Open And Print Proc C Genrated Text File Based Report ON Browser

I have my old 6i forms from which i runs some Pro*c programmers with the help of HOST() command ,and then that generates a normal text file as a resultant report like file name "kha10"
which i can easily open with any text client ,,,
now what i want is that, to open this file on browser like web Report on my forms 10g like report builder 10g
can anyone help me as it will be a gr8 help otherwise i would have to develop approx 100 reports.....

Ofcourse you can do this by specifing system parameters like DESTYPE=Printer and DESNAME=PrinterName
Replace PrinterName with you printer name

Using SQVI to generate report of open and released delivery schedule lines

All,
I'm using SQVI to generate an excel spreadsheet for some buyers to show open released schedule lines because they are a 1 line item per scheduling agreement company.
I used the logical database MEPOLDB instead of a table joint and pulled fields from EKKO(vendor, SA #,&purchasing group), EKPO(Material Number), EKEH(schedule line type), and EKET(delivery date, scheduled qty,previous qty).
Does this sound like I'll get the results I want on paper as long as I use the right selection criteria, because the report I'm getting isn't quite what I expect? I am unable to identify which lines are authorized to ship vs. trade-off zone, planning, etc. in the report thus far.

I have faced same requirement. I am not sure about transporting to TST and PROD. I done by this way.
After generating SQVI program in DEV , I assigned that program to a transaction and tested in DEV. Later i have regenarated SQVI in Production. then I assigned the generated Program to same transaction in DEV. And transported the Tcode assignment of program to Production..
About authorization , if its not sensitive report, BASIS can restrict at transaction level.
