Apple 17" CRT near high voltage lines

I have an Apple 17" CRT monitor in my room and it is constanty zooming in and out slightly and sometimes a corner will change colour as if it has been near a magnet. I live right next to some tram lines that have their power source right outside my window.
Is this possibly due to the tram lines affecting the power my monitor receives or is it an unavoidable problem that directly affects the screen?
G4 Powermac 450 (AGP Graphics)   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It sounds like two seperate problems to me. The zooming in and out sounds like a problem with the high voltage regulation. Could be indicative of a failure on the horizon. The other problem you describe could have to do with magnetic interference from high current power lines. You might want to look into getting a new, LCD monitor. LCD monitors are immune to magnetic interference.

Hello. I used my iPod in work with mixing console. Recently iPod got 48V in headphone jack. It doesn't react, screen is black, it just gets warmed. Also, it doesn't charge. Is it totally broken? Can i replace battery and use iPod?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. I suspect the high voltage killed it

  • Locating and solving problem due to a high voltage input to DAQ

Hi! By mistake a high voltage was fed through input channel of my DAQ NI PCI-6052E. After that daq is not functioning(giving -10V measurement always). I use SCB-68 connector block with this DAQ card. I checked the connector with the output board pci6711 and found it was functioning. How can I trace out the location of the problem?

    Greetings,
My first suggestion would be to run the Online E Series Diagnostic Utility. This should verify whether or not your board is damaged and needs to be sent back to NI for repair. I have included a link to this utility below:

  • For Full performance You need a Higher voltage AC Adapter Message

    Hello,
I have a HP G70-460US Laptop since October 10,2009. About three days ago, the laptop started showing me a system message about the AC Adapter. The message says: For Full performance you need a higher voltage AC adapter. I verified the AC Adapter and the temperature was normal. The battery was charging OK. I had the laptop connected to a power strip, so I connect the laptop directly to the wall outlet. The next day, my wife was trying to use the laptop, and the battery had no charge. I unplugged and plugged again the AC Adpter and started charging again, but, the system keeps posting the same error message as before. My laptop is usually connected to a electrical outlet.
    What can be the problem?

We are also getting this same message with a new G60-506US laptop just placed in service with the factory HP A/C adapter.
Looks like someone from HP needs to get into this!

  • How soon for new BIOS with Higher Voltage?

This is mostly directed toward moderator Bas
Do you have any idea if MSI plans to give its users an option for higher voltage to the cpu in later Bios updates?
Does this board even support it?
I know that there are a lot of people asking the same question.
I am an avid overclocker and I know I am being limited extremely by this...
My RAM will past Memtest x86 all the way up to 250MHZ but as soon as I go to load windows it craps all over the place.
I wish there was some more information on this as if MSI isnt going to make this available I am going to have to go get another board :(
I also own another msi board the 865PE for my P4 Media system and it clocks great.  It's a 2.4B to 3.15 no prob!
I have seen posts wth people getting the AMD64 3200+ to 2.6 and over with other boards that allow high Vcore such as the ABIT KV8-MAX3.  In the post I saw the guy had his Vcore to 1.75. That would be great!
Anyone with knowledgable input would be greatly apprecited especially Bas.
Posts on other boards besides the Abit and gigabyte as far as clockable boards would be helpful too.
    Happy Clocking!

We'll that makes mee feel a little better to to know that even a .1 step up in voltage allows the memory to get to 245.  For me at least so far I dont even have to step up the voltage in the AGP and memory area.  My OCZ ram in 2.9V stable while still under warranty but right now I am limted only by the Vcore.
It is good to know though that the Abit board doesn't allow for stepping up in those areas as of yet though cause once we do get a little more Vcore into our processors that will become more usefull down the road.  Though if you say they slowly bring in more options for the Bios we can only cross our fingers for now until we can hear from MSI directly.
On Monday I am going to try and give them a call and see what I can get out of the tech support group.
I will post what reply they give me.
    OVERCLOCKERS UNITE!!!
If we let em know what we want it may speed up the process a little!
At least 1.65 for the VCORE!
Love my A64 so far though.  I would hate to have to get another board just to sqeeze out 20MHZ more but cha got to do what you got to do.

  • Can the analog inputs be daisy chained to measure higher voltages?

Can the analog inputs of a PXI-6289 be connected in series to measure higher voltages than normally allowed at the analog inputs of the PXI-6289 (i.e. 10 VDC)?  For example, let's say I wanted to measure 18 VDC using an analog input channel of the PXI-6289.  I would then pick two AI channels and connect the positive of one to the negative of the other and then the two remaining leads would be placed across the 18 VDC.  Resistors could also be placed across the 18 VDC to form a votage divide.  One AI would measure the voltage across one resistor and the other AI would measure the voltage across the remaining resistor.  I have tried this and the voltage measurements appear to loose accuracy.  Thank you for your help.

    Hello Rafi,
You may want to invest in a high voltage attenuator for signal conditioning prior to reading the signal.  The documents below may also be helpful:

  • High voltage noise

    Hey,
I have a macpro mid 2010 12-cores 2.93ghz which connected to an apc br1500 ups. everything was great until the ups had a failure "f2" . I realy don't know it means, but since this failure happened the macpro has a high voltage noise from it's power cord (where it pluges into the computer). by the way, the 27" cinema display does the noise, very loud noise. besides that, both working o.k.
I took the display to the lab and it worked just fine there, no noise. so I guess there is a problem with the macpro.....:-(
anyone had the same promblem? any ideas about a possible part that might be dammaged?

It could be your power mac's supply.  I don't use a UPS but I've read that there are (more expensive?) kinds with "pure" sine wave AC supplies and some cheaper ones with sine wave approximations.  I don't know which category yours fits in to.  Perphas when your UPS failed the AC waveform changed and affected the mac's power supply components in some way, or maybe a voltage spike.  Just guessing/speculating here of course.

  • How do i create a high voltage wake-up message?

I have a NI-CAN/LS2 card. I need a high voltage wake-up Message to get a device working, how do i create one?

    Hello,
NI-CAN cards are not able to send a high voltage wake-up message. At 15V pulse is usually used for this purpose. You can use a third-party device to generate the pulse, however, at this point National Instruments does not test the cards for this.

  • TS3048 I have just purchased a new apple cordless keyboard.  The numeric line of keys along the top are not functioning as they should.  For example I am unable to get a question mark or a forward slash.  I have tried holding down both shift and alt keys.

I have just purchased a new apple cordless keyboard.  The numeric line of keys along the top are not functioning as they should.  For example I am unable to get a question mark or a forward slash.  I have tried holding down both shift and alt keys.

Thanks for prompt response - I tried what you suggested but I'm afraid it has not helped.  It seems as though the line of number keys along the top aren't actually doing what is printed on them.  Some are OK, but the further towards the right hand side of the keyboard you go, the less predicatable it becomes.  So whilst the second key from the left gives me 1 and ! when holding the shift key, by the time I get to the 6 when I press and hold shift I get ^ rather than & symbol which is what is actually printed on the key.  The & symbol is actually on the next key along - and when I hit the key with 8 I get * rather than the ( which is printed on they key but actually located on the next key along.  Things get even more muddled by the time I am over on the right hand side as rather than a question mark (I have had to type the word as I cannot find the symbol anywhere!) I get this _ and the other symbol marked on the key is a comma, but I get - instead.  It is going to drive me mad if every time I want to type something it is a guessing game....!  What do you suggest - question mark

  • Excel Chart High-Low Lines Not Rendering when Chart Object Contains No NumCache and StringCache

I have a number of Excel xlsx files which contain a Chart object configured with High-low Lines.  The High-Low Lines render without issue when the Number Cache & String Cache exist in the file.  A process updating the files removes the Number
Cache and String Cache from the Chart Object.  After this process has updated the files Excel no longer observes the High-Low Line configuration.  I have verified that the files still contain the setting for the Chart to have High-Low Lines (<c:hiLowLines
/>).  Excel does not recognize that the setting is set (not rendered when viewed or preserved in the file settings after saving in Excel). Excel does not present any errors and everything else works fine.
    Reproduction of Issue:
    1. Create an Excel Document containing a Chart Object with High-Low Lines enabled.
    2. Manually edit the chart1.xml file (in the xlsx file), removing all the Number Cache and String Cache entries from the document (<c:numCache/>, <c:strCache/>).
    3. Open the Document in Excel and view the Chart.  It will not draw the High-Low Lines and if saved the file will no-longer contain the hiLowLines setting.
The issue has been confirmed in Excel 2010 and Excel 2013.

The issue has been tested on different computers, 11 in total.  The OS ranges from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1.
I have not tried in other file formats.  Due to the requirements of the project I'm restricted to xlsx.
The application interacting with the files is proprietary.
I've simulated the issue by removing the Number Cache & String Cache manually from the Chart1.xml file.  This causes the issue to occur.  I will note that if i only remove one of the cache entries from the file the High-Low lines will be observed
in Excel.  It seems to only happen if all of the cache entries are removed.  The file is never interpreted by Excel as corrupt under any of the modifications.
The issue seems like Excel fails to evaluate the High-Low Lines property when the cache is completely removed.  I'm not sure what Excel is doing to negate the property under the condition of no cache.  After the files is opened with Excel and saved
the High-Low Lines property no-longer exists in the file.

  • High voltages to stabilize overclock??

I'm running a pretty standard overclock, but I'm not comfortable with how high my voltages need to be for the system to run stable. Here's my setup:
    - 2.4C (OEM from Newegg - Phillipines)
    - MSI 875P-NEO FIS2R (1.8 BIOS)
    - 1GB Mushkin Level 2 PC3500 (Black Label)
    - Memory Timings: 2-2-2-6 and FSB 250 (resulting in 3.0GHz), 5:4 DDR Ratio
    - ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Retail)
    - Audigy Gamer
    VCore: 1.70
    DDR: 2.85
    AGP: 1.70
    PCI Divider: 67.01/33.50
We've determined (from previous posts) that the Audigy Card is requiring higher voltages for stability, but I'm wondering if maybe my PSU might have something to do with it.
    PSU Details:
    Name: Enermax 451 (431W)
    +3.3v = 35A
    +5.0v = 44A
    +12v  = 15A
I know this suprasses minimum P4 power specs, but do you see this PSU as being the reason as to why I should have higher voltages for the machine to be stable?

No-No!.....I'm saying that you are one of the LUCKY people ..Don't get rid of anything!!....If the AUDIGY is working .Then thats great!...I'm just stating that if you do a search on the CREATIVE PCI cards, that you will see that there has been a lot of people that are having all sorts of different funny things going on with their PC's....The main problem seems to be trouble with PCI Latency......I am not trying to be "Mr Bad News".....Please don't say that ...Sean REILLY875         PS..If you do happen to start having difficulty with the AUDIGY....I would stay with the On Board sound, as it really sounds quite pleasant ...The problem with the M-Audio is that it taxes the CPU way too much...Your gaming frame rates will suffer....But if you are a non-gamer, I have heard that it sounds much better then any CREATIVE product out there ....Sean

  • Does z1 compact has a high voltage li-ion battery that charge at 4.35 volts ??

li ion batteries has always had a max charging voltage of 4.2 volts for maximum safety  , performance and life cycles.
my sony xperia z1 compact does charge at 4.35 volts so i made a google and read about a new technology in li-ions that allows high voltage charging and maximum performance .
but i really don't know if my phone is malfunctioning or it just include that new technology battery . so if u know any thing about this issue plz help .

If you look at most of the adapters, the output is 5V.You can contact xperia care, but I am positive:

  • High voltage test

can i make high voltage tester using ni daq card? voltage is 1000volts. i tried to find examples related to it but couldn't find. can u please direct me to the examples or anyother help from which i could start my work.
    nauman

    nauman,
the requirements you state are incomplete. What is e.g. the desired sample rate? Do you want to measure up to 1kV, or is there an offset of up to 1kV for a signal with less voltage?
You might want to look into NI-DMM's since they are usually instruments used for such measurements.
Another solution would be scaling down the voltage (possibly isolated) to a level more devices can digitize, this would be +-10V for the majority of devices.
