Apple and AT&T - Culture Clash?  What can we do?

I cannot think of two vastly different corporate cultures in terms of customer service than Apple and AT&T.
I believe this exclusive arrangement is a huge mistake on Apple's part. I do understand the technical aspects of the deal, but Apple should have done better due diligence on AT&T customer service standards.
If you walk into any AT&T store and compare it to your experience in an Apple store the contrast is immediately evident. I've found AT&T employees in general to be too busy talking to each other to be bothered, often rude and not very knowledgeable.
AT&T's phone customer service is also deplorable and mostly outsourced to poorly trained reps.
What can we do to get Apple to allow other carriers iPhone service contracts? I'm waiting to buy an iPhone until AT&T is no longer an exclusive carrier.

Well you shouldn't have to deal with AT&T outside of buying the iPhone, even then you can get it at Best Buy or an Apple store so you might not have to deal with them at all.
The only other carrier in the US the iPhone would work with is T-mobile. I came from them to the original iPhone and T-mobile may have better customer service but their cell service is a lot worse than AT&T. I used to use unlocked phones with my T-mobile SIM and at least 70% of the time where ever I went I was roaming onto AT&T's network.
As much as you or others may want the iPhone simply does not work with Verizon. They use a CDMA network and not GSM like the rest of the world. Apple decided to go with the network that would allow them to only need to make one version of the device and sell it every where.
As such, they made the best choice they had available to them. Finally, I have not had any issues with AT&T. When my iPhone 3G arrived at the store where I ordered it via direct fullfillment they called me practically the minute it got to the store. They setup an appointment with me to come and get it setup. When I got there the rep was ready and waiting, the entire process took not even 10 minutes and I walked out the door with my iPhone 3G fully working. I have not had to deal with them since.

    First, try to do a hard reset of your phone. (Hold down the Home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for about 10 seconds. When the screen flashes and the Apple appears again, release the buttons.)

    Power off your phone and disconnect it from the USB cable.
    Close iTunes.

    After a few seconds, you should see the display prompt you to connect to iTunes.

    Try a hard reset: hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

    Most movies have Dolby surround sound. Seems like you don't have all sound channels coming out of your speakers.
    Is the AppleTV connected to a receiver or to a TV?
    If you have a receiver that supports dolby surround you should configure the sound settings of the Apple TV and receiver accordingly.
    If it's connected to a TV the audio setting "Dolby Digital" in the Apple TV should be set to off.

    If you have restored to factory settings and started as new, there is nothing more that you can do on your own. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. You might have a hardware problem and the Apple Store techs will be able to determine that.

    I don't think it's paired with another device, as the Apple TV (3rd Gen) is the only device I have from Apple, that uses this remote (unless my iPhone or iPod can pair with it) ..or maybe the remote pairs with other than Apple products ? (Can it) ?
    I have tried to press the menu and right - left - up- down - middle - play/pause simultaneously without anything happening.
    All I'm left with now, is a brick with a flash on it.

    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

    I had this happen back in December/January. I sold my MBP that I used to subscribe to iTunes Match back in December. In January, I bought a used MB and tried to use iTunes Match on it. I was told I had to wait nearly two months to use it on the new computer. I waited and was finally able to use it in the new computer.\
    Sadly, this has more to do with the content providers (Record lables / movie studios) than it has to do with Apple impsoing the restrictions.

    If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

    If it's just a question of memory, you can buy and install more. It could also be that your iMac is just not compatile with Lion.
    Minimum requirements for Lion are:
    Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
    Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
