Apple and iPod Score another Big C
As much as I hate to say it.... I am going to be buying my very first iPod..... I hate saying it, but yesterdays announcement of iPod partnering with Nike to give you an MP3 player that has a plug in accessory that calculates Running Pace and gives you the ability to program in interval workouts was the straw that broke the camels back. I really love my Creative Zen Sleek, and I love the fact that I can download unlimited music from Yahoo!Unlimited service.... The killer of the entire deal is accessories, or lack there of from creative players. Apple and iPod hit the mark with this one and thier Nano.... It gives you verbal feedback of how far you've run, avg pace, and has the ability to change to an uptempo song if you've prerecorded an interval workout.
Sorry creative, you missed the mark. Prehaps you should watch and learn from the TV Show Apprentice, because if this were a task between two teams, you would have just been crushed, and ended up in the board room where someone would be fired.
The electronics industry by nature is a very low profit margin biz. You can't expect that just selling the players is where the bucks lie. You have to figure out a way to sell the player, and then cash in on all of the little accessories once those people have purchased thier product. That's where the cash is, and Apple has capitolized on this market.
I love your product, it is a thing of beauty and sounds great..... It's just not 00% there.

Yeah sure im going to go buy a 200$ pair of shoes and a 50$ nano adapter, a 200$ nano and convert all my music to .acc format (and me stuck with ipods for the rest of my life) just to know how little callories im actually burning while running around my house.
2 weeks later ipod nano screen is so scratched you cant see the screen.
It's obviously a very cool addition to the franchise, but really unless you are a fitness freak this is even farther from being an intelligent purchase. If you have money, a Mac and are a fitness freak then it is a good product! Scratches, cracking aside. No offense but i doubt you are. It's agreed creative lacks in some fun accesories, but their asian what can you expect?
What firmware problem can you have, three weeks after the Vision:M comes out a significant update is released that fixed all the problems. The device works perfectly for me, and my brothers Ipod video doesnt.

The standard Apple warranty is 1 year. I believe you can purchase AppleCare+, which extends the warranty to two years from the date of purchase. This extended warranty needs to be purchased within 30 days of the purchase date for the phone.
If you have the extended warranty, you may be able to get a replacement phone at no cost. You will need to make an appointment at an Apple Store Genuis Bar and have them take a look at the phone.
If you did not purchase the additional warranty coverage, you should be able to purchase an Out-of-Warranty replacement, which is $199 for the iPhone 4S.

I am SICK OF THIS. take some responsibility apple and HELP.
I am having the same problem a LOT of others are. my ipod is not recognized my my PC after the last itunes came out. for weeks i have been trying everything imaginable. my cable is fine, my ipod is fine, my usb port is fine, my pc is fine. ive tested the cable and ipod on another pc and they work. ive tested other devices on the usb port and tried all ports. works FINE.
ive tried tons of uninstall/reinstall/old version/blahblah bull to try and fix this.
everyone is having this problem right after the itunes software was updated. this is OBVIOUSLY a problem caused by the itunes software itself.
so i call up support, and they want $50 something to get support. this is total bull. you do not release software that causes hardware to not function properly, and then charge the customers to fix your own mistake.
I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of help i have received from apple regarding this matter. this needs to be corrected at APPLE's expense, not ours. i dont know what else to say, i am so furious.Uninstall All versions of iTunes and iPod updaters, restart your computer, and start the setups FROM THE CD YOU GOT WITH YOUR IPOD. It should then be recognised.if you are using a USB 2.0 PCI Expansion card, try using the ports that were already on the motherboard of your computer. My PC had troubles accessing my iPod properly when I was using an Expansion card. I tested three, all from different manufactures, different chipsets, all caused problems with my Mini.
If this does not work, try using another computer to access your iPod/Format it and plug it back into your normal one to see if it makes a difference. -
Nano other catagory differnet on computer and ipod
I have a 4th generation nano and the memory in other keeps going up and down with out me changing anything. When I unplug the ipod the amount of memory is different then what the computer said. Please help
Hi! I was about to put a hammer through my ipod for similar reason. I could see my ipod in windows but only as a drive. So after many attempts of the 5 R's i did the following and it now works.
Removed all itunes, quicktime, apple and ipod components from computer including in temp files and cookies.
Reinstalled Ipod/itunes original disk.
Set Ipod to Disk Mode (hold down HOLDMenuSelect until apple appears, then release MENU+SELECT and Press SELECT+PLAY Don't release hold button, until tick appears.)
I updated Itunes to new version. I then plugged the ipod in disk mode in and it updated to the newer version and all good.
This took 5 long days of trying all solutions. Goodluck -
Recently purchased my first Apple product (ipod touch) and am needing to know how to transfer music from other ipods and other itunes accounts. Can this be done? I have plugged in another ipod into my new itunes account and it will not let me transfer the music that it contains into my new account. Any/all help is much appreciated. 1 to create a big camera for i pads and ipods and iphones so we can put it in another ipad or ipod or iphone and it has a zoom lens
2 when i downloaded photos and music from a computer to my ipad , i cant delete them now plese do the itunes like samsung becuz samsung have an easier way to download thing from computer

H.MThe iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality. -
Can't message or FaceTime between ipad2 and iPod touch with same apple id
Posted this on the iPad page also. I got a ipad2, my husband loves it but too big and bulky, we get him the iPod touch tonight. I set his up using the same apple id because we truly want to share everything, BUT want to be able to message and FaceTime one another. Works fine to begin with, but soon realize that we cant FaceTime using same e-mail, realize I can assign him a different e-mail. do this, doesn't work, so try the trouble shooting on apple support, turn off face time and messaging, because I'm setting it up for both, Somehow it locks me out of message and FaceTime completely, that I had to reset my password, now it will let me login using that apple id, but not allow me to use either my orignal or secondary e-mail that I did verify. FaceTime just keeps sending me back in to the apple id log in screen. I thought no matter what you were able to login on both devices using the same id, but I can't for some reason! Thanks!
I ended up resetting all of the content and settings back to factory standard, then starting over. no issues after that. I'm just glad that we hdan't done too much after purchase!

Can't message or FaceTime between iPad2 and iPod touch on same apple I'd
Here's my story. Have an iPad2, works great, love it. husband loved it too, but big and bulky, he goes with the iPod touch. Tonight we set his up using the same apple id, because we want it to be simple and we truly want to share everything. BUT, we want to be able to FaceTime and message one another. Obviously realized we couldn't when the other was always busy, so I use an addtional e-mail to assign to him. When it didn't take initally, I think ok, I need to turn off iMessage and FaceTime to get them to reset. when I go to log back in, our apple id wasnt recognized and I eventually reset our password as a last ditch effort. That gets me to the next screen, "what e-mail address do I want to use?" I choose the secondary one, but it acts as if it hasn't been verified, but I've checked my settings information and it has been, I've actually deleted and verified it twice now. I even tried the main e-mail address. I've also powered off the touch too. So what am I doing wrong, because at this point I can't even get messages or FaceTime to work on the touch. I do not want to remove my log in from my iPad for fear of it locking me out there as well, but I need help! At a minimum I should be able to get our messages from both devices! Thanks!
I decided to reset the iPod touch to factory new settings and then it worked fine. I have no idea what glitch I came across, but am glad that I can now FaceTime and message with my husband!

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -
The button on my Ipod Touch (the big one just below the screen) will not work when I press it. Nothing happens, when before it would wake my IPod out of sleep mode, and exit out of programs I was using (ex. ITunes or Safari to main screen) . Now, no reactions. When I press the button, it appears to be more indented then it was before. What should I do? Do I need to get it fixed or replaced, or is this a problem I can fix on my own? Do I need both Apple Mobile Device service and Ipod Service running on my Windows XP machine in order to use an iPod Touch Gen4? I have to restart both of these services to get iTunes 11.0.4.4 to recognize it. I wonder if they conflict with one another.

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
If you disabled yuor computer's security software then that indicates a hardware problem,
I would say it is not workth fixint your old. likely a 1G. iPOd. -
hi can anyone help please ? i have had apple products now for apron 7 years BUT have never been able to make the bluetooth work , not even when 2 products i.e. : phone and iPod are in the same room. So i stopped trying but would like to set it up between my iMac and iphone / ipad but can't get it to work, they say discoverable but just will not connect to one another. I also tried the connection code and tried without one ... NO JOY ... Is this common or am i a twit ?
You can't connect an iPhone or iPad to a Mac via Bluetooth, except for Internet tethering.
You're not doing anything wrong - it just isn't a feature of iOS devices.
What were you hoping a Bluetooth connection would allow you to do? -
I recently purchased the newest nano. I have 3 other nano's and iPad iPhone, oh and iPod touch. When I plug in nano to my mac I get the message "iPod cannot update because it contains files that are used by another application. How can manage this?

It means that nano was used on a third-party software or synced from different computer to sync music. Does that nano show in iTunes? If yes, then restore completely. If not, then you may need to head to Apple Store and see what they can do.

My itunes will not search computer for all songs stored.
