Apple app store card payment

Hello there,
I have had my iPad for over a year now and it has never asked me for my card details only thing it has asked me for is to confirm my password when I'm buying something, but recently it has started asking me for my bank details now I put them in and it says declined but I am not buying anything it's doing updates for apps now I have already spoken to apple themself but they said I needed to contact apple tech support but they said something about needing £1 in my account for them to verify the care is valid which I accept but I have money in there and still says declined.
Could someone please get back to me regarding this issue I have the latest software for it.

This is all about local licensing performing distribution and production rights in media industries .
Its not actually Apples doing and contrary to general belief Apple do not use location services or IP addresses to block access between regional stores.
What they do use and you have now found out is Billing Address and Valid Payment card.
Your Payment cards first four digits are in fact country codes and they will be rejected if they identify a differing country to the store you are viewing.
THIS IS HOW APPLE COMPLIES with the licensing performing distribution and production rights.
Now because Apple are not using IP addressing you can still use your home store and download from anywhere
(It breaks the EULA terms but does work!)
If you are now in Canada permanently however are retaining your home banking service I could suggest you get a Visa Prepayment Card such as this from the Post Office - you don't need a bank account for these.

Top up and use it to open an account in the Canadian iTunes Store and for any other local spending !
Or simply buy Canadian iTunes gift cards !

But you can optionally remove the payment method after you sign in to the store. You won't be asked for a payment method again until you make your first purchase.

Apple should start offering iTunes or App-store cards in India !

It seems that Apple has stopped accepting debit card as a payment option in India. So what happens to the existing users in India who does not have a credit card ? The idea of a free apple id without any payment card attached does not make sense as it limits customer`s freedom to purchase music or paid apps. Apple does not offer iTunes card or App-store cards in India and neither accepts debit card as a payment option then what is the way around ? If we feel safe to attach our debit cards as a payment option then it should not have a problem or Apple should start offering iTunes card in India. People does not put all their money in one single debit card which they attach as a payment option for relaxation so security risk should not be a concern, cheers !

Could be anything from a chargeback, or your card is junk depending on what it is. Using the word debit card isn't realy descriptive, and can many mean many, many different things.

I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.
Apple is becoming more like Microsoft every day.

Are you using a debit card? I read somewhere that debit card are not being accepted by itunes. Go to settings/itunes & app store, tap on the ID there then on view account, log in and check payment details to see if they are correct.

Can't down load Purchased Software from Apple App Store on Mac BookPro running Mavericks.
Asked to sign in with Apple ID, do so successfully, but when download starts, bet message: Error 1006 please try later.
I have tried a couple solutions to clear cache, but did not have them.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

3 days to activate app store card??

This afternoon I bought a £15 app store card from Homebase.
When I got home I tried to redeem it and was told that the card had not been activated.
Speaking to Homebase I was told that it can take upto 3 days for cards to be activated and it stated this on the back of the card.
I've checked the card and there is no mention of 3 days and I can't find any mention of it anywhere on the Apple website or indeed the internet in general.
Every other card I have bought has been activated instantly and I just feel I have been given the brush off by Homebase.
I guess i'm just after someone to confirm or deny this 3 day activation period. I dont particuarly want to wait 3 days just for it not to be activated because there was another issue that I coould have fixed straight away.
Any insight would be much appriciated.

I've never heard of a 3 day timescale. Did Homebase have another go at activating it ?
