Apple application support Error 2 windows with lastest upgrade download is preventing me from opening itunes, unistalled, reinstalled 3 times, please help.

I recently downloaded the most current version of itunes automatically, got an error during the install process and was unable to open my existing itunes after that occurrance.  I unistalled and reinstalled 3 times. Says installed finished but when I try to open itunes I get the following pop up.
Apple Application Support required.  Error 2 (windows error)
Please help, I'm a Ballroom Dancer and need my music back.
Thanks.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • ITunes Apple Application Support error on Windows 7 Professional PC HRESULT: 0x80070091

    Hello,
ITunes suddenly stopped working on my Windows 7 Professional PC.
I was initially getting an Error 2 -- and I followed the instructions to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (restarted, updated Windows and ran CCleaner inbetween).
After the new install, I received the error:
Apple Application Support was not found.
I downloaded WinRAR and tried to install a standalone version of Apple Application Support. I still cannot start iTunes, and receive the following error message.
    Error message:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type="win32",version='8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e8e3b',processo rArchitecture='amd64'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070091.
I have a new laptop with Windows 8.1, and I want to transfer my libraries to it anyways. So, I'd like to either get iTunes functional on the Windows 7 PC, or find out if there is a way to simply move the libraries for ipod and ipad to the laptop without iTunes active on the PC.
Thanks so much for your help.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Application Support won't install normally.

OK.  You may have to reinstall everything from scratch but follow following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

  • Apple Application Support Error

I've tried everything I can to fix this problem.
At first it was as simple as uninstall / reinstall itunes.
First problem occured - apple mobile device isnt detected and in services it gives me an error when im trying to stop / start it and set it on automatic
Next it was about Quicktime and fixed that, and I thought everything was fine but I can't open Itunes, It keeps saying "apple application support not found".
I uninstalled everything but I can't seem to get rid of that particular one.
    It says
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'AppleApplicationSupport.msi' in the box."
The file doesn't exist to my knowledge. I cleaned the temp folder, of any traces of Apple, Itunes etc so i can reinstall but I can't get rid of Apple Application Support or even know what to do with it. Im completely lost on what to do

  • I tried to download the new update but an error 7 occurred then a Windows error 193 occurred. Now I can't even open iTunes. Can someone please HELP.

I have been trying to update my iTunes but each time i download the update I get an error. The first error that comes up is error 7 then I get a Windows error 193. Can anyone please HELP ME?

I had the same problem, when switching over to iTunes 11. I downloaded the software through Apple Software Update, and when I tried opening the software, it popped up with an error message. The support forums suggest a complete uninstaall/reinstall, which I did. iTunes 11 now works without a single problem. Fair warning, tho: Back up all files pertaining to iTunes (music, videos, etc.) BEFORE uninstalling.
