Apple Application was not found:error 2(windows error 2)

I have been unable to install itunes on my laptop due to error 2; i read previous forums for the fix to error 2 and im receiving this error now. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well.  error reads: "Apple Application was not found. Apple Application is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall ITunes then install iTunes again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2).

b noir  and turingtest2, Not sure if you have seen or not, but I have been having major issues with the R6034 error and the removal process. I finally got everything removed and upon attempting to reinstall, delete, reinstall many times, I was getting the error 2 - "Apple Application was not found. Apple Application is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall ITunes then install iTunes again.  Error 2 (Windows Error 2)." I then found this support topic. I followed your instructions above and completed a standalone installation of AppleApplicationSupport.msi and that worked. I then tried to install iTunes from that point. iTunes seems to have installed fine, but I got an error that Bonjour did not install and that I should delete iTunes and try to install it again. I did not delete iTunes, all I did was do a stand alone install of Bonjour. iTunes seems to be going through the process of updating Genius. I am keeping my fingers crossed at this point to hope it works. I believe the R6034 and the Error 2 instructions should be combined and organized in one discussion and explained a little better once all of this information is put together. As I said, I have dealt with EVERY issue that you all have talked about so far, and I think I finally have it figured out between all of the suggestions in the two different support chats. Between the help that you have given and the help that turingtest2 has given, when put all together and done in the correct order, seems to fix the issues. I understand that not every scenerio can be known and updates can create uncommon issues, but I would like to thank you two for sticking it out and helping me. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you two put this together so we can help other users as quick as possible.

You can try installing 7-Zip (free), then right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file to unpack its contents, and install AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. It may still not install successfully, but if it doesn't you may get a more useful error message regarding the reason why.

  • Itunes Installation - Apple Application was not found

    Danke, Mimamk

You could try downloading and installing 7-Zip (free) and downloading a fresh copy of the iTunes installer, unpack the installer into its components using 7-Zip then try a standalone install of AppleApplicationSupport. It may still fail to install but if so you may get useful error messages as to why not.

  • Please help me with this error: "Apple application support was not found... Error 2"

Can anyone please help me with this error: "Apple application support was not found... Error 2"
I've followed the instructions by removing all Apple files from my laptop, but when I reinstall the iTunes software it still comes up with this message:
"Apple application support is required to run iTunesHelper. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2"
    Thank you

iTunes "Apple Application Support is required... Error 2" and possible fix.
I know this is a bit late but I came accross this thread trying to resolve this same problem and came up with a solution that worked for me, so thought I would share it here too. I hope it helps someone else.
I just resolved this on Win Vista (should apply equally for Win7 too). Please uninstall iTunes before proceeding though. I'll walk you through the process I followed, if you like you can jump straight to the Solution section.
    Problems:
The initial error during the installation of iTunes was:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken='1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x8007054F
The error (after installing iTunes) when trying to run iTunes was:
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2 (Windows error 2).
After trying various fixes around the forums I came across this MSKB article, which relates to the first installation error:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2688946
This lead me to trying to install MS Visual C++ but I received the following error trying to install that:
    Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly ‘Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type=”win32”,version=”8.0.50727.762”,publicKeyToken=”1fc8b3 b9a1e18e3b”,processorArchitecture=”amd64”’. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070BC9. Assembly interface: IassemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {837BF1EB-D770-94EB-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}
Note: The installation of VC++ rolls back when it fails.
    Solution:
Through this error I found this MSKB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946414
The Automated MS "Fix It" msi package didn’t work.
Note: Please backup your registry first (see the above MSKB article for instructions).
I opened the registry and (as instructed in the MSKB article) deleted the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\
    PendingXmlIdentifier
    NextQueueEntryIndex
    AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving
    Reboot and reinstall iTunes.
If it helps you please like this so others can find it.

  • Apple application support not found error?  need help

I tried updating my iTunes to the current version and i've encountered several errors.  After completely uninstalling and reloading iTunes, I now get the following Error:  "Apple Application Support not found.  Apple Application support is required to run iTunes Helper.  Please uninstall itunes and reinstall.  Error 2"    Can someone help me?  I've tried the Winrar tactic and still does not work.   I am using windows vista. I want to upgrade itunes so I can use Apple TV.
    thanks!

    Gives
me error message Apple Application support was not found.
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I did the recommended re-install to resolve the missing MSVCR80.dll file. This worked, but I am now stymied by two error messages: "Apple Mobile Device failed to start" and "Apple application support not found". How to overcome?

That worked, however I now get two error messages when I install I Tunes:
o  Apple Mobile Device failed to start.
o  Apple Application Support not found.
This were of course deleted in the recommended re-install procedure to resolve the dll file, but repeated uninstalls and installs simply bring up these two error messages with a recommendation to install I Tune again. Installing the new I Tunes version seems to be problematic per the discussion groups and has no simple solution. SHould not the Genius bar be able to resolve this at an Apple Store? Want to buy a new I Phone 5S, but this problem effectively stymies this.

  • Apple Application Support Not Found (Error 2)

I just got a new iPad and was told to install iTunes on my PC to get started. I tried installing the lastest version of iTunes and at the end of the installation process I get 2 pop ups saying "Apple Application Support Not Found" I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes about 4 times now with the same problem. What do I need to do to successfully install iTunes and is there any way to use my iPad without connecting to a PC first? Please help, I would really like to use my graduation present!

    Many thanks.
Okay. We'll try a "standalone" installation of Apple Application Support, then. (It still may not install, but at least we'll have a better idea of what the problem is, based on any error messages we might get.)
