Apple asked for me to update computer, now I have lost everything I previously purchahed.  WHAT TO DO?

I can't believe I have spent so much time and money on this I-touch and customer service *****.  There seems to be sooooo many questions and not one representative to help without an extra cost.
Please help me with my question.  Can I re-download previously purchased music that was lost because Apple forced me to update my Apple software.

What did you actually update, iTunes or iOS on the device?
Updating software does not cause media to disappear.
If the media is no long on your iPod Touch, then it should still be on your computer.  Simply connect the device and resync.
If the media is no longer on your computer, then you would need a backup to restore it.  If no backup exists, you can ask iTunes Customer Support for an exception to allow you to re-download your music.  Keep in mind they are under no obligation to allow this, so ask nicely.  Contact iTunes Support
If the media is still on the Touch but not on the computer, you can try connecting it to your computer.  Do not sync.
Then select File > Transfer purchases.
Once you get your media back.  Create a backup on an External drive or on CD/DVDs.

    can not believe it but did a system restor on windows vister and got it all back you can chose the date you want to restore you computer too and it worked sooooooo happy love it.

    Hmmm, Norton extensions are broken again in Firefox 4.0.1. It seems that Norton didn't allow for Firefox 4.0 security updates when they updated their Firefox extension for Firefox 4.0. Norton says they'll have a fix in two weeks. A Norton user posted a fix in this forum thread.

    well i put my phone on charge, when the connect to itunes icon appeared.therefore, resulting in restorage of the phone.
    The prompt to connect to iTunes is automatic, but not the restore process. You must manually select restore. There is no automatic restore.

    Read the link I provided. Had you done so, you would know you do not have to re-purchase apps when re-downloaded.
    but to be honest, i am concerned about my contacts. which have completely disapeared and i just want them back.
    Unless your contacts were synced with a supported address book app on your computer as designed and intended and your contacts were included with your computer's backup, or unless your contacts are available online with a free Apple iCloud account, with a free Yahoo account, or with a free Gmail account with all providing the ability to sync contacts over the air, your contacts are gone.

  • Updating my iPhoto I have lost everything because my computer is all of a year old

    I was asked to update my iPhoto by Cloud, so I did, just to find out that my computer is too old for this update, so now I don't have any iPhoto and more importantly no photos.  My mac book air is less than a year old, and is a Lion.  I am feeling sick.  How can I get my old iPhoto back

    I know the suggestion of update was not by OS, it was needed by Cloud so that I could transfer information between devices, at least that is what I thought.  Anyway, since then I went into my apple preferences and it had updates available, so when I did that I see that my iPhoto responds to me.  And when I say that I mean it is on the stop sign icon at the bottom of the screen, but which still has a stop sign sort of thing instead of the iPhoto sign.  Now when I press on  see this message, I am a bit nervous about how I interpret messages, so what do I do with this.
    Do I accept this.  I have backed up my computer.

    Hi. I live in New Zealand, and have an iphone 5s. I normally backup to My Computer, as I have alot of photos and videos on my iphone, and icloud only gives 5GB free. In order to fit everything on my phone, I would most likely need the 50GB one, which costs $125 over here. The other day a friend told me I should backup to icloud. So I did. Then yesterday I noticed that she txt me, and it came up with her number, not her name. I thought there was a problem with her phone. But last night I was going through my Contacts list, and I see there is a heap of them missing. I also changed my password on my Yahoo! email account the other day, but I done that on my laptop. So when I went to my settings on my iphone, I just deleted the password and typed in the new one, the emails and everything all came up fine. So I don't think that is the problem. I have read other questions on here and on Google, where they say to go to yr Contacts, and to Groups, untick them all, and tick them again. I have done this, and still they don't come back. Mine Groups appear in the following order: ICLOUD - All iCloud; FACEBOOK - All Facebook; YAHOO! - All Yahoo!. Yahoo! is my primary email account. I have also turned the wifi off on my iphone, then turned the iphone off. Then turned them both back on, this still doesn't work. Yet when I go to my email account on my laptop, that still has all the contacts. "All Yahoo!" is ticked on my iphone, so I don't know why it isnt syncing them to my iphone. I won't be backing up to icloud again. I have now installed an app called My Contents Backup Pro that someone on here mentioned. Wish I'd known about it earlier. Hope someone can help. Thanks

    Have you tried the line inputs on the back of your FirePod? If you update its firmware (not sure if you will need to or not), I seem to remember hearing that the FirePod can run without FW connection, i.e. stand alone. In this mode with the outs from your mixer into line ins 1-2 (2nd from left on the back) it should work fine. I say should because I have never tried. However, these are used for returns from an external effects unit. I assume here, and the important word is assume, that there are two so that they can be used as a stereo send or as a mono send. Worth a try! Let us know how it goes.

    I thought i was resetting my son's iphone 4 so that I could use it. But I seem to have erased his icloud/apple id and all of his data from his new phone too.  His Apple ID doesnt work and cant be accessed as it now says it is disabled.  I have tried the iforgot.apple.com website without success and have no idea how to rectify.  I have requested a password change to his email address but that is not working either.

    That sounds confusing.  First off, don't be too worried. There's practically no way to actually delete an Apple ID or it's purchase history.  You should be able to get to it back somehow.  Secondly, that's likely something that you'll need to talk to a real person on the phone for since it likely requires you to explain that you need access on behalf of your son, (who probably just set some security questions or an email address that you didn't know he put in.)  Just call the appropriate AppleCare phone line (800-APL-CARE in the USA, or see the link below for other countries) and tell them you want to talk about an iCloud account security question.

So when i restored i got all her photos and lost mine which were very very importent. So how do I get my photos back?

    Unless your photos were backed up somewhere, they're gone.  They were wiped off your phone when you restored it from your wife's data.

  • Upgraded to CS3 - Now I have LOST all My Previous Sequences

    Upgraded from Premier CS2 to CS3 on PC
    Previous edit job on CS2 had 10 sequences and hundreds of edits...but when I open job now in Cs3 after upgrading...I only have the Clip Bin and No Sequences and No edits on the timeline...
    Hope its something simple...there are hundreds of edit points in those timeline sequences.
    Am I missing something on how to have CS2 projects come over to CS3 accurately?

    OOps... I wonder if anyone knows if I can also load in Premier CS2 after I have installed the Master Suite?
    There are NO sequences even listed in my project bin...only the original clips...there were about 10 sequences.
    Hope I dont have to unload 2 hours worth of install just to be able to reload in CS2.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

      Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
