Apple Battery replacement! What the ****!?

ok, so on the 1st of september i get that email, and well, my 12" G4 has a flakey battery, i type in all of the details, and, i get an email from "donotreply@......" (great name eh?) anyway, it says 4-6 weeks, its now 15ht October, and no sight of this battery, the last email i received about this battery was that donotreply one, quoting my order number, i have tried entering that on apples website, and nothing appears! I have resorted to using this explosive battery, as i NEED to use a battery! Some things simply aren't possible, especially when imw aiting for these tossers to give me a battery that wont explode (i know, i do like the finer, non-explosive luxuries in life!).
Anyway, i want to email apple about this, as i personally am rather un-impressed, so far i have spent 1 hour looking for a simple email address, and not a sight!! So, can ANYONE give me an email address for SOMEBODY that can help me without this! I have to say, i love apple computers, but this experince has taught me that the people making them, are a bunch of tossers!
Thanks!

I have also tried looking for an e-mail address but was not able to find one. I ended up calling Applecare and they told me that due to the amount of batteries and short supply it is taking longer than six weeks. However, I did receive my battery 3 business days after I called them. I recommend that you call Apple and you will probably receive a battery very soon. Several people have stated receiving their battery soon after they called Apple. Good Luck.

If it wasn't Apple who replaced the battery, then you've voided your warranty.   Bring it back to whomever replaced the battery and tell them they probably broke your phone.

  • Battery Replacement with the Online Service

I was using the apple online service assistant to order a battery replacement for my 80 gig iPod Classic because it no longer holds its charge for as long as I would like it to. I got to this page and got stuck:
    http://i47.tinypic.com/2vkx89s.jpg
Despite there being a choice above saying that my problem is with the battery, there is no option that lets me say that I specifically want the battery replaced. What should I do?
Additionally, when looking at the repair prices page, I saw that there were two values for everything- the repair price and the battery. Just to make sure, I only need to pay the battery replacement price if I just want to replace the battery right?

    Can anyone help me?

  • Can my Ipad 3 have a battery replacement outside the country?

My Ipad 3 has a battery weared. It turns off when the battery drops to 80%. I plan go to Apple Store to have a battery replacement. But i purchased my Ipad in US and now I am in France. Is it possible to have this kind of replacement?
P/S: My Ipad is out of warranty 1 month ago

The fact that you bought it in the U.S. should not make any difference at all. I'm not so sure that they can replace your battery in an Apple Store, typically you have to send the device to Apple in order to have the battery replaced. You are supposed to contact them via the link here.

What is iPad Battery Replacement Service?
If your iPad requires service due to the battery's diminished ability to hold an electrical charge and it is not covered by Apple's one year limited warranty, the AppleCare Protection Plan, or statutory consumer rights, Apple will replace your iPad for a service fee. Please see these simple pointers to maximize iPad battery lifespan and battery life.

Will the data on my iPad be preserved?
No, during the service process all data on your iPad will be erased. Before obtaining service, it is important to back up your data using iCloud or iTunes. Apple is not responsible for the loss of information while servicing your iPad and does not offer any data transfer service.
Following service your replacement iPad may have a newer operating system (iOS) version and you will need torestore your data using the method used to back it up (iCloud or iTunes). As a result, you may also need to update your App Store applications to ensure compatibility with the newer iOS. If you experience a problem with an application purchased from the App Store, check iTunes to see if an update is available or contact the application vendor directly.

  • Will Battery Replacement Stop the Whine?

    Hi Fellow Mac Users,
My MBP 1.83Ghz is my 1st Mac, bought in April. I want to know a few things:
    1) would the battery exchange(my batt is affected and just recently started bloating) solve the whine problem?
    2) just how big a problem is the whining? Would it lead to some serious damage? I use my MBP for work, if the whine will not lead to some other serious damage, I will just let it be. The whine is not so annoying to me.
    3) without resorting to software patches, how can I stop the whine? replace the logic board like what I have read here? Is it covered under the warranty?
Hope to get some advice, thanks!

    Hi Fellow Mac Users,
My MBP 1.83Ghz is my 1st Mac, bought in April. I want
    to know a few things:
    1) would the battery exchange(my batt is affected and
just recently started bloating) solve the whine
    problem?
Most likely not. I have seen 1 user that has actually reported the opposite - the whine started AFTER he got the new battery. The whine is a hardware issue and replacing the battery shouldn't affect it.
Try this, remove your battery on AC power - if the whine goes away that will answer your question
    2) just how big a problem is the whining? Would it
lead to some serious damage? I use my MBP for work,
if the whine will not lead to some other serious
damage, I will just let it be. The whine is not so
    annoying to me.
No one really knows. It's like 6 months after its release so it's hard to say if any real damage is being done. Apple CLEARLY knows about the whine, as indicated by Article ID 303365, and I'd imagine that if it had a negative affect on overall performance, they would recall the devices, not just produce an article on it. If it's not annoying, just let it be - just remember anytime someone tinkers with your stuff, there's a chance that they can either break it, or it can perform worse then what it is now.
    3) without resorting to software patches, how can I
stop the whine? replace the logic board like what I
have read here? Is it covered under the warranty?
Funny, i thought you just said it didn't bother you that much. The bottom line is that you can't. Some users have reported very positive things from receiving the logic board, and others have not. You can go to an apple store to see if you are eligible for a logic board swap, but just remember that may mean being without your computer for almost a week. It would be covered under your standard AppleCare warranty.
I mean you have a really difficult decision - send it in when it can take a week to fix for something that is really just an aesthetic problem (and potentially not get fixed) or just live with it.
I don't know, you're going to have to make that decision - but if it doesn't really bother you like you say, I'd say leave it alone.

  • Apple Battery Replacement

If i send my 3rd generation 15gig into apple for a battery replacement. Will they send me back a whole different ipod or will they send me back my ipod with a new battery

    Hi,
I think you're better off with a higher capacity battery. The original battery from Apple were just piece of cr@p.
By the way, are you the original owner? If you still have the documents (receipt, etc) and if you bought your iPod before May 31, 2004, then you can participate in Apple iPod Settlement, taking place right now. More details at http://www.appleipodsettlement.com/index.html
    Hope this helps

  • Is it possible for you to get the battery replaced in the iPod touch? If not do I need to buy a new one?

    Idk

if its still under the warranty its free
and yes, it is possible. contact apple (have a credit card ready) tell them you need a new battery, their gonna tell you that its going to be aroun 80$-90$ with taxes and shipping included.
you can try opening it your self and buying the battery elswhere cheaper, but totally not recomended if you dont want to ruin your phone. unless you have extensive knowlege of what you are doing

Please help. I have a cracked screen!

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • I Can sign in to  I'd Apple account , please what the problem ?

    Dear sir
I have difficulties to access my I'd Apple account
Even every things is correct the I'D and password.
Pleas help to solve that problem to allow me to benefit
    And purchase from App store
    Thanks

The password prompt is supplied by the operating system, and is intended to protect you from accidentally installing software.  You will get this prompt for any installation outside the App Store context.
If you do not need to enter a username or password when starting your computer, you can probably just leave the password field blank when acknowledging this prompt.

  • How long does it take to get your iPhone 5 battery replaced?

For anyone who had their iPhone 5 battery replaced in the replacement program, I was wondering if you could tell me how long this took and what the procedure is. Can you do this at a Genius Bar? I'm probably going to have no more than a few hours to do this between trips and wondering if it takes five minutes or a couple of days.
    Thanks very much.

The current iPhone 5 battery replacement program has caused some Apple Stores (including all of them in Houston) to run out of spare batteries. They order more, but can take a few days to get fresh stock.
I went into a store on Tuesday. The Genius ran a diagnostic to be sure my battery was in bad enough shape o qualify. It did, but they were out of batteries, so they put me in line to get one. Today's shipment included a battery with my name on it, so I took the phone back in today. The replacement was complete about 45 minutes later.

  • Wide price variation in macbook pro battery replacement

    Hello,
My macbook pro's battery ( bought in mid 2010) performance has declined significantly and currently provides back up for just 1.5 hrs. I am planning to replace the battery and hence contacted several apple authorized service providers.
However, my dilemma is that the price quoted by various service providers varies significantly from INR 7,500 to INR 16,000 (USD 125 to USD 266).
How do I find out what is the correct price of the battery and if the battery provided is a genuine one?
Wide variation in price is creating dilemma in my mind as to whether I am getting a genuine product or a knock-off.
    Request help on this matter.
    Thanks.

  • 3rd gen battery replacement and life after

After 3 years, the battery on my 20GB 3rd Gen iPod is finally failing. I'm stuck between sending it in for battery replacement or just buying a new iPod.
For those of you who have sent in a 3rd gen for replacement--how was your experience with the replacement iPod? Did you get the same 3-4 years generally expected from the model, or did it deteriorate faster? Is it worth the $65 , or should I just suck it up and spend more on a brand new iPod?
20GB 3rd Gen iPod   Windows XP

By all means replace it! The 3G is a great device if what you want to do is play music!
Yes, if you do it yourself and fail to follow the instructions by popping the right side first, you can and will rip the ribbon cale to the headphones. But that's why one should follow instructions or have a pro do it
Should you send it in to Apple for the $65 job? That's up to you. There are 3rd party folks who will do it for less or will use a better battery. I replaced my own with a higher capacity battery, and have wonderful play time. One company I've dealt with is iPodResQ. I'm not making any money from this recommendation, just voicing my approval of the quality and price of their parts and services.
Look around, google 3G iPod battery replacement, read the instructions. If you feel uncomfortable with them, then get a pro to do it.
I've has several folks want to buy my 3G from me because of its distinctive appearance. Seems it's already "retro", and therefore cool. So why ditch it because of the battery? If that's the only reason you are thinking of replacing it, then don't. Benefits of the 3G include the fact that Dynamic playlists still work on them, unlike newer models that traded that function for the benefit of podcasting. That alone is enough for me to keep mine.
For the record, I own a 15GB 3G that is my go everywhere workhorse, and a 40GB 4G that goes with me on trips with most of my library. I like the 3G more.
