Apple Bluetooth keyboard shows the wrong letters when pressed

Hi,
My apple bluetooth keyboard shows the wrong letters when I write on it. If I press "c", the letter "d" shows on the screen instead. The bottom row of letters mimicks the row just above. I've tried unpairing and paring the keyboard again with my computer and my ipad. Same error. Tried resetting the pram and the smc and it still doesn't work. Changed the batteries in the keyboard and no change. I've removed some plist file (com.apple.BezelService) and its lock file like someone recommended in a youtube video. I've also checked the keyboard settings and can't find anything that seems weird.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it or do I have to buy a new keyboard?
/Andreas

Before you buy a new one, take it to an Apple store (if one is near you) and have them look at it.

  • I paired my apple Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad but when trying to connect back to iMac it shows paired but I cannot connect to it

I paired my apple Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad.  Now I paired it with my iMac it shows paired but I cannot connect to it?

    Hello:
    Try this on your iPad:
    Unpairing a Bluetooth accessory
If you've paired iPad with an accessory that you no longer wish to use, you can unpair the accessory.
From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Bluetooth. If Bluetooth isn't on, turn it on.
Choose the accessory and tap Unpair.

  • IPod Touch shows the wrong artwork when playing songs

Recently my iPod Touch has just decided to display all the wrong artwork when playing songs. For example I will be listening to Chris Brown and It will be showing a picture of a Jay-Z album. How do I fix this?!
I've read that all you have to do is 'uncheck "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.'.. however I manually add the songs onto my iPod so I can't uncheck the music option as it's already unchecked!
Please help, my iPod looks so ugly showing the wrong artwork lol

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and the PS3.

    Hi all,
I spotted a discussion on this topic that has since been archived with no solution. After a bit of head scratching I have found it.
To connect your the latest Apple Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard to a PS3, enter Settings>Accessory Settings>Manage Bluetooth Devices>Scan.
When the apple keyboard is found, enter the code.
Here is where it is tricky! The Playstation asked that following the code entry you press enter. Pressing the "return" button on the keyboard does not work. On the same "return" button, in smaller writing is the word "Enter". So you must press and hold "Shift" + "Enter (Right after)".
Hold both for two seconds and presto, connection!

    Hello iPhone3GUser,
Thank you for your posting and your question.
Unfortunately, melchiori is correct in this case, the Bluetooth support which comes with the iPhone 3G firmware 2.1 only supports Bluetooth headsets, i.e. the Bluetooth headset and handsfree profiles. I myself have an iPhone 3G and first discovered these limitations after I purchased, I was actually looking forward to using my iPhone 3G with my FreePulse headset.
Sadly, we can only hope that future firmware updates from Apple will enable more use of the Bluetooth functionality of the iPhone 3G.

  • Photos on my Mac show the wrong date when imported from a portable Hard Drive

I’ve got loads of photos that I had imported from my old PC.Last night I decided to start going through them and trying to get them sorted
prior to importing into iphoto. I discovered that some of the pictures (in particular ones I have taken from my old Iphone) all had the same date and time
assigned to them. When I checked the Exif details, it listed the correct camera etc, but the date created seems to have changed to the date I copied them to my portable hard drive.
I thought this was strange as when they were on my PC I thought they were correct. I booted my PC up and checked the portable hard drive on Windows. When viewed on my PC the pictures all have the correct time and date assigned to them. However when I plug the same portable hard drive into my Mac the same files show up as being created on a more recent date (say 20th Jan 2013).
I’ve done a lot of research last night, although I can find no forum with this exact problem, I feel it must have something to do with compatibility. The portable hard drive is FAT32, and I am assuming that in order to ensure all of the photos information is transferred correctly in needs to be NTFS.
The problem I have is how do I transfer my files again from my PC to an NTFS drive, whilst keeping all of the correct date and time information assigned to the photos. My understanding is that the 2 aren’t compatible.
Has anyone ever had this problem? It mainly seems to be with photos I have extracted from my Iphone or edited in some form by rotating them.
I have a 13" Macbook Pro Retina with OSX Mavericks installed.

What you may want to do is archive as a Zipfile the photos and then transfer them to the Mac.     It is possible some of the metadata is being lost on the FAT32 formatting.    USB Flashdrive might work better than a FAT32 formatted hard drive, as I do know that most USB Flashdrives are formatted about the same as SD media cards, which manage to preserve the data when copied from camera to Mac.    My big question is, do you still have the photos on media cards?  You might just want to get a media card reader on your Mac, if the photos are not on SD cards, and transfer them over with the media card reader.
I do believe Retina MacBook Pros all have SD card readers built-in.
Note: I've asked this be moved to the MacBook Pro forum.  MacBook without the secondary name refers to the consumer notebook Apple stopped making in 2011.

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard under Windows

Guys I can't get the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard to work under windows when I start my MBP in XP...I can discover it and then it pairs with it, but in the end no key will work :/

    From Apple:
Are there any Macintosh features that I should not expect to work when running Windows XP on an Intel-based Macintosh computer?
Even after installling the Macintosh Drivers CD, the Apple Remote Control (IR), Apple Wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard or mouse, Apple USB Modem, MacBook Pro's sudden motion sensor, MacBook Pro's ambient light sensor, and built-in iSight camera will not function correctly when running Windows.

  • Does anyone elses iphoto thumbnails show the wrong photos in album ?

This is a relatively new problem i am having.... when i open an album and the zoom is over c.20% or you change the zoom the thumbnails show the wrong photo. when you open to edit, the correct photo opens. This is veeeerrrry annoying. can anyone shed any light on this ?

    Hi slipstream1,
I don't know why that started happening for you.
    Try this:
    Close iPhoto
Navigate to where you have the iPhoto Library on your hard drive
Drag the three thumbnail files found loose in the root of the Library folder to the desktop
Hold down the Command and Option keys while launching iPhoto until you get the rebuild window
Choose the options to rebuild the thumbnails
Hopefully this will fix it for you.

  • Apple bluetooth keyboard not found

    MacBook Pro
    Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013
Processor  2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
    Software  OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
since yesterday the external bluetooth APPLE keyboard cannot be found.
I use both a Apple bluetooth mouse and an Apple bluetooth keyboard. The mouse continues to work just fine, but the keyboard just stopped working and my computer cannot find it as a bluetooth device. I didn't run any system updates at all- the bluetooth keyboard just stopped working and then I couldn't find it- I get the message "no keyboard found." And yes, the batteries are installed correctly. And yes, I have turned the keyboard on.
This is the control panel I stare at for a long time and nothing happens:
I've read all the available troubleshooting advice from Apple, which is mostly a run down of how to put batteries in the **** thing and run the Bluetooth control panel :-/
    WTH?!

I found a fix for this and it does work. It's so simple I have a hard time understanding why Apple doesn't promote this extremely helpful and easy solution to the bluetooth keyboard problems (I hope you have as good luck with the fix as I had.)

When I login to update my existing apps, the login window shows the wrong apple id. i cannot change it because it is all grayed out. how do i solve this problem?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

Several of our iPhone users in the UK reported the problem this morning, and as the Apple fan in the office I've got the job of resolving the issue
The original Excel was an old .xls file, but I have saved it as a .xlsx and the problem still appears
I haven't spoken with our developer yet, but I assume he has created the Excel file using some programming tools rather that directly using Excel
In the meantime I have created a simply spreadsheet with 8 cells contain values
In the first 4 cells, I have formatted them using Currency, and have used the currencies USD, DEM, GBP and CHF
In the remaining cells I have formatted them using the Accounting option, using the same currencies
When I review the spreadsheet on the iPhone (or iPad), the first 4 remain the same yet the last four all show the £ symbol
I have now changed the Region Format of the iPhone to United States, and when viewing on the iPhone the bottom 4 values are now all showing the $ sign!
If I had created the spreadsheet I would have put the Currency code in a seperate cell and purely used a numeric format for the number, and there would be no issue.  That might be the only solution
Yes, the Director has the full MS Excel app on his Windows 8 device, but I can't expect all of our clients to go and do the same, in business many of them will have the iPhone
We may have to change the way we produce the report because of Apple's failings here, and it's not the first time that we have had to change something because Apple devices can't display them properly
In business, submitting a potential job contract only for the recipient to get the wrong idea of the costs is a major concern

when using apple bluetooth keyboard with iPad, hitting the enter/return key while typing in iMessage only adds another line not 'send' the message? is there a setting to change that somewhere?

Everywhere that I've checked it is not possible to do this. I would like to even do this using the vkb. I hate having to stretch my thumb all the way up just to send a message. It's messaging, not a report or email. Seems backwards. Hopefully some day Apple can add this option.

  • My iPad shows the wrong apple I'd when I try to update my apps

I checked the settings and my correct apple ID is tthere but whenever I try to update an app, it shows the wrong apple  ID and I can't change it.

    dcre wrote:
Yes, it's an old Apple ID that was changed at least 2 years ago.
There is a difference between creating a new Apple ID and changing the username that you use for your Apple ID. If you got a new email address and changed the old Apple ID to reflect the new email address, that new ID should work with previously purchased apps.
So did you just change the username (the new email address)  for your Apple ID or did you actually create a new Apple ID? If you created a new Apple ID, you will not be able to use that new ID to update the old apps. You will have to continue to use the old ID and password to update those previously purchased apps.

  • My Apple Bluetooth keyboard has stopped working. The top row of keys works but the rest of the keys do not. I was carrying this in my computer bag without turning it off and that is when this started.

My apple bluetooth keyboard has stopped working. The top row of keys works and the iPad sees the bluetooth keyboard (the bluetooth icon is active) but the other keys do not work. For the past coupld of days I have carried my keyboard in my computerbag without turning it off and I am thinking I have done something to make the letter keys to stop working. Two days in a row I did turn on the music as I carried the computer bag into work so I know that some keys were being activated.

    *UPDATE*
I have been able to use the Zoom function to zoom in and the keys on the top row no longer are in the non-responsive strip of area.

  • Apple Bluetooth Keyboard stopped working letters Q thru I.

My Apple Bluetooth Keyboard has stopped working on letters Q thru I.  Any suggestions.  Is it worth repair, or just buy new?

Sorry....I assumed that the KB was attached to a Mac
If you are near an Apple Store, you might take it in for testing.
From what you describe, I suspect the KB has failed.
