Apple BT simply awesome!!!

I like a lot of folks here have gone through a slew of bluetooth headsets, some comfortable, some not so comfortable, some with claims of this and that.
Well I thought I'd try ONE more BT for my iPhone, so I found my self in the nearest Apple store and picked up a copy of the new iWork, and iLife, and decided, since I was there to try the Apple BT.
Yeah the sales guys were busy showing them huge cheese grater ones and the usual Plantronics variety. I had one of the guys pull the Apple BT from behind the counter, and took a chance.
I got home opened the creatively packaged box, and pulled out what had to be the slimmest, sleekest BT headset I've ever seen, and thinking "how can they fit a radio transmitter AND a battery in this thing and expect it to work?"
Well, like every other BT I've ever used, I prepared for the usual drill of getting the phone in parring mode, clearing some counter space, turning off all the appliances, clearing my mind, and blocking out 20 minutes of my day for this sort of exercise, then getting ready quickly finding the right combination of buttons to hold while frantically getting the phone in pairing mode at the same time time before time runs out!
Yet crazy enough, I turned on the iPhone, and noticed the BT symbol was displayed at the top of the screen.? "What, I've yet to pair any other BT, and haven't ever even turned the BT on?"
So I called the wife, and it was working!!
I still had 19.5 minutes left, and the thing was already working!? Thats when I had to remind my self, (after all my computer geek Windowusing friends give me a hard time) why I love my Apple products!
After reading some rather negative posts about this BT, I was still worried about all the static and noise, and volume issues others have expressed.
However, its been flawless! Sound quality is great at both ends, and yeah, and more than a few feet away, it gets staticy like any other would, but some I've had, (that were physically 3 times bigger) were so bad I couldn't use it while the phone was on my belt. The Apple BT with my iPhone holstered on my side works great!
Maybe I got lucky, in fact I think I've been lucky on most all my Apple products, (and yet was so anti-Apple before I tried the MBP) I've dropped my phone from 6' on to a tile floor, gotten it wet, dirty. I've dropped my MBP off the sofa on to the floor, dropped another laptop on it, dented the heck out of my MBP and travelled across the country with it, and yet to have any real issues with my Macs. *knock on wood*
The fit could of been better, I wish they had made the speaker thing that goes in my ear smaller, cause you could always make it bigger with some gel things. But it still works, and is so light and small, I can't really complain!
Thanks Apple!

I forgot to mention the following; the above issues typically happen when my MBP is 'beach balling'(http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2649768&tstart=0). I mention this, as it may help with the solution to my keyboard problem, it could be that during the 'linked episodes', that it is what's causing the keyboard to disconnect. Let me know what you think.

So does that mean Apple has simply abandoned a proprietary paid for iOS app? How will this affect iPhoto from Mavericks to Yosemite? anyone with Yosemite Beta in the loop?
    Thanks from Zurich,
    Dan

So does that mean Apple has simply abandoned a proprietary paid for iOS app?
That has happened before - remember iWeb?
But this time Apple has provided a migration to the successor app, Photos.
For iPhoto and Aperture on the Mac is not much known (Aperture is Dead. Long Live Photos! | ApertureExpert), only, that there will be a "Photos" for MacOS X.
anyone with Yosemite Beta in the loop?
Beta testers are bound by a non-disclosure agreement, and beta-issues must to be discussed in the public forums, or we will be in trouble. Neither are we allowed to speculate, sorry.

  • I Love my Apple TV   SIMPLY AWSOME !!!

I have to say, I have had my Apple TV for around 4 months now and it is simply incredible. I never thought are entire family would use it just about everyday of the week. We use it so much I went into my local Best Buy and C City to see about purchasing another unit for the finished basement. I was surprised that they both no longer carry Apple TV's I asked a few of the associates who worked there if they were just sold out or what the deal was. They said they never heard of such a thing or that nobody buy's them because it is an apple product and nobody buys apple products. I was pretty shocked of the comments I was receiving. They kind of looked at me as if I were nuts or I was an outsider and did not know what I was talking about. The bottom line that I am getting at is, if people only knew what a great product Apple TV is and Apple it self. I swear I will never buy another PC again ! I believe if Best Buy or C City were to display an Apple TV running an HD movie on a 1080p LCD TV during business hours I think Apple TV's would sell like I pods, everybody wanting one.

Yea you are right, I guess its just that most people think PC's are so much better than a Mac and they are not, yea PC's are cheaper than a mac but a mac is by far a better product and operating system. The problem is, is that Best Buy or CC will not set up Apple TV's and display them where as my local Sam's club has an Apple TV hooked up and on Display. The sales person said they sell 3 or 4 a week, I wonder why. Any way I shake my head when I see someone buy a PC when they have no idea they are throwing there money away and paying for nothing but problems.

  • HT201263 I have the ipad 1, and I tried to reboot it but when I connected my ipad to the computer it did nothing.  When it is charging the apple logo simply flashes on and off again.  It is trying to start up but can't.  Help!

I have an ipad and the only thing it does when you plug it in to the wall is flash the start up apple logo.  It will not reboot because itunes can not reconginze it.  I have tried holding the home and power button's together but it doesn't help.

I'm sorry, you are correct I am trying to restore my ipad because it stopped working.   We thought the battery was dead so we plugged it into the wall charger.  All it does when plugged in is flash the apple logo like it is going to start up and then shut off.  It repeats this every few seconds while it is plugged into the wall.  I let it charge overnight and still nothing.
When I hold the power button and the home button down together while the ipad is plugged into the wall, it does flash then after I release the power button the connect to itunes screen comes on.   But when I connect it to my computer it goes blank.   itunes does not recongnize my ipad when I plug it into the computer.  I have used the same cord to plug in my other devices and itunes recongnizes them so it isn't the usb cord.
It seems as if my system has crashed and I think this may just be an apple service trip for me.  But thanks so much for the advice.   =D

Many Kudos to Apple for simply Standing-Your-Ground!
My wife loves her 3GS and I can hardly wait till my TMob contract (11 years) is up in October. Hope to switch to Verison or Sprint so I can get a 4GS.
Just last week-end, at Best Buy... I lined-up all the latest cellphones on one table (yes, they allowed me to try it) and it looked like a CookieCutter's Factory.
    ONE phone stood-out: the 4GS.

  • Why doesn't Apple use 7200RPM hard drives??

People seem to upgrade their MacBooks to faster drives with no problems, so why doesn't Apple use or at least offer faster drives in the MacBook?
    SH

It's an entry level laptop - so you get an entry
level drive to work perfectly well with it.
And I **love it**!!!! Other than the plastics and case design (how often have I griped about THAT) that houses the electronics, this computer is simply awesome!

  • Changing Apple ID on multiple devices

    Hi,
Our family recently changed our email address.  Realizing that I had to change our Apple ID, I logged in and did so on the account.  Now I have everyone in the house 'raging'! No one can log into their stuff because the popup is locked and they cannot even log in as the old apple id simply pops up every single time.
We have 2 apple TV's, 2 ipads, 2 iphones and multiple computers.  It just seems crazy that it is so difficult to manage our account.  We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with Apple but it feels so user unfriendly.  There isn't even an email support address where one can write for assistance.
Does anyone know how I can change the pop up of the Apple id of our other devices after the account has already been changed?
Please help our family so I can get some peace.
    Thank you

On the iPads and iPhones tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on them and log out and then log back in with the updated version of the id. On the computers you can log out via the Store > Sign Out menu option - that will then change to a Store > Sign In option. Not sure about Apple TV, I don't have one so I don't know how to log out/in/

How to reset your Apple ID password.
Go to iforgot.apple.com and type in your Apple ID, then click 'Next'.
Verify your date of birth, then click 'Next'.
You'll be able to choose one of two methods to reset your password, either E-Mail Authentication or Answer Security Questions.
If neither method works, then go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.
    A new page will open.
Choose 'Other Apple ID Topics', then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.
    Click the blue 'Continue' button.
Select the contact option that suits your needs best.
How to reset your Apple ID security questions.
Go to appleid.apple.com, click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. (If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email)
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side, and click on the link underneath the security questions that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'.  This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or  there is no rescue email link available, then click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
    Next, go to https://getsupport.apple.com
(If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services')
Choose 'More Products & Services', then 'Apple ID'.

  • HT1386 How do I create one Apple ID and iTunes user name and password for all of my Apple products: iPad, iPhone, and iPod plus iTunes on my PC?

How do I create one Apple ID and iTunes user name and password for all of my Apple products: iPad, iPhone, and iPod plus iTunes on my PC?

Yes, I do have multiple devices and it appeared to me that every time I tried to sync or log onto iTunes, the password was incorrect.  Consequently, I was and am constantly changing it.  Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would simply say that you only need one Apple ID and one password regardless of the number of Apple devices you intend to sync via iTunes.
Barring the above, how about a way to merge all of the Apple IDs and passwords into one.

  • How to verify email apple id for ipad?

help me. how to verify email apple id for ipad

    Hello, Sororkhanoom.
To verify your Apple ID, Simply follow the link in the verification e-mail that says "Verify Now." Sign in with your current Apple ID and password, then click Verify Address.  If the verification e-mail has not been received, go to https://appleid.apple.com.  You will then need to sign in to manage your account.  Once you are signed in to your account you should see the option to "Resend Verification E-Mail".

  • Why Can't I use an Apple Gift card to buy an ipad!?!

So, I received an apple gift card for graduation from college. It was $500 and I wanted to use to buy an iPad.
The person at the apple store said I was not allowed to use a gift card to pay for more than %50 of an iPad.
My question is...WHY? They got their money when someone purchased the gift card, what does it matter?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or knows why this is apple's policy. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

That is a very, very big assumption.
Apple could simply check the gift card and see if the purchase of that card was valid. They would have to Do that anyway to verify the amount on it anyway.
Not wanting to pony up the cash could be a sign of naughtiness.
I have a gift card and want to use it so that is a sign of naughtiness?
If i got a gift card and could not use it, I would be beyond ticked off! It' s valid or it isn't.
Nothing here -> says anything about a limitation as the op describes.

  • I purchased a TV Series from the Store previously (Order no. shows up in my purchase history). The series is still being sold on the Store, but no longer shows as 'purchased' and I am unable to download onto any Apple device. Any suggestions?

Is there anything I can do to retrieve the files?
Apple Support simply emails me an article on retrieving lost media. The issue is that the itunes Store contradicts my Library claiming that I haven't previously purchased the item

It turns out I'd manged to unwittingly 'hide' the series...
Easily fixed by following http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 courtesy of King_Penguin
Sd series not found in purchased section or available to download from origional series page.
Still no idea how I hid it in the first place!!!

  • Apple customer service...A+

I'm posting this so people know problems and issues get resolved many times and that hardware or software defects happen with the best companies.
I bought a refurb iphone 3g in December 2008 and my warranty expired in August 2009 (90 days is the minimum on refurbs, but I would guess most have longer warranties). I started having problems a few days before the OS 3.1 release, and the problems had been sporadic on my iphone since that time. I had attempted all the usual fixes, and I had come to the conclusion my phone was defective, going into infinite reboot/shutdown, but out of warranty since August of last year. The only way to keep it from shutting down was to turn off autolock and passcode lock. However, the battery would drain in 5 or 6 hours sitting idle.
It finally got the to point I couldn't use any of great features of the phone, and although I didn't want to pay for a new refurb, I figured that was my only option. I made an appointment to take it in today to an Apple store. They looked at it, saw there was no physical damage, typed some stuff in their database, and gave me a new phone built in the 51st week of 2009.
    Thanks Apple!

As Michael Black pointed out, there's no reason to think they'll backup your data and restore it to a new device. This is something you should be doing. Its your data, you should have had the foresight to perform constant backups on it.  Apple is not your parent, it does not, and should not need to worry about your data.
Why do you expect such a service from them is the better question? What company does this, that you now expect Apple to do it also?
Apple does many things, but your data in the end is your responsibility.
As far as the warranty goes, Warranties have life spans, they do expire. even Apple care + .  You paid for it for 2 years. Should this have happened during those 2 years you would have been covered, and only  need to pay the quite accidental damage fee you get for being covered by Apple Care + , but you would still need to pay.   Why exactly do you expect Apple to replace your iPad  free of charge past your warranty expiration?  Would you exchange a computer for a new one if you broke it?  Would you go back to a car dealer 5 years after purchase and expect a new one from them for free because you crashed it?
The fact that you are out of your warranty period for Apple Care + simply means you'll need to pay an out of warranty replacement fee.  The Genius bar appointment is merely so you can do this over the counter at an apple store. There is nothing mysterious about it.
You broke it, you are out of warranty, you need to pay.  The fee is quite lower than having to buy a new one, so even then, they are helping you out by not charging you the full amount for a new device. Not sure what else you expect them to do.

  • Why no apple support

Having read Apple's help pages extensively for an answer - their advice is to contact my email provider for support.
Since Apple are my email providers - I need to contact them to get my email working again.
However, there is no Apple Support offered.
Has anyone out there got a clue what to do in such instances ?
I really need access to my email urgently

iWeb publishing, MobileMe Gallery, and iDisk will all disappear as the company sunsets its current online service in favor of iCloud.
Other MobileMe services—including syncing of Mac Dashboard widgets, keychains, Dock items, and System Preferences—will not be part of iCloud, Apple says. Those syncing services will stop working as soon you migrate from MobileMe to iCloud. In addition, Apple says that while MobileMe members can no longer upgrade to a Family Pack or buy additional MobileMe storage, Family Pack members will be able to transition their accounts to iCloud individually, as long as it’s done before June 30, 2012.
