Apple Camera Connector

Can anyone offer advice on how to successfully view photos imported from camera (Casio Exilim 7.2) 1.0G memory card through the Apple camera connector to the ipod???? It seems like the photos transferred but when try to view them (by following the directions in manual) I cannot find them. I go to the main menu and choose Photos>Photo Import and then choose the roll but the manual says to then choose Browse but there is no Browse choice. I only get the choice to delete roll or cancel. Any ideas?

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem.
Thanks. [email protected]

I just got one of the camera connectors today and got it to work with the A620. My iPod froze the first time; I think because I plugged in the camera before turning it on. I've only transferred a few pictures so far. I'll probably fill up my 512MB card this week and see what happens. I'll repost if I have any problems.

  • Will Apple Camera Connector Kit Import .PDF files?

Will Apple Camera Connector Kit Import .PDF files? I need to import large (60MB plus) .PDF files created in Powerpoint to my iPad. They are too large to be practical for e-mail.

Open GoodReader on the iPad. Click on the wifi icon in the menu bar at the bottom of the app. A popup window will open up giving you your local URL. Open Safari on the desktop computer and place that URL in the address bar. A page will open up with directions on how to send a file. The file will be send over the wifi connection to your iPad.
To add a little... In Safari on the desktop computer. Select file to upload: Choose file--->Navigate to the file on your desktop computer---> Click on the Upload selected file button. There will be a red warning box in the popup window on the iPad. When that disappears the the transfer is complete. If you get a warning can't find page in Safari you don't have the wifi connection in Goodreader turned on. Just click on the wifi icon button in Goodreader to fix. You can bookmark the URl in Safari fir later use.

  • Will the Apple Camera Connector work with iPhone?

I have an Apple Camera Connector that I have been using with my iPod to store pictures on my iPod until returning home where I download them to my iMac. Will the connector work on iPhone?
My iPhone is on order, so there is no way for me to try it for myself.

Nope, it seems that for the most part, the only things that work are those that tapped into the audio exports. Anything that required the interface of the iPod to change or added a new menu item (including all mics, the FM Remote, etc) doesn't work.

  • Canon a620 with Apple camera connector

    Hi
Is the Canon A620 compatible with the Apple iPod camera connector?
Its not listed in the supported camera list - thats only a subset. My existing camera isn't listed either , but that still works. Sooo, I'm wondering if the A620 works OK?
    Thanks

  • Apple Camera Connector Kit and iPhone/iPod touch

Will the CCK also work with non-iPad iOS devices? Thanks!

The other day I asked in the iPad forum if the CCK in the iPad would import photos and videos from the new iTouch (with camera). The answer was yes.

  • Can I view photos imported to iPod using Apple iPod Camera Connector

    Hi,
I have an iPod photo and iPod video.
I also have the Belkin Digital Camera Link that I use to downloand photos from my Digital Camera to my iPod whilst away from my computer.
When photos are imported onto the iPod using the Belkin device I can't view the photos on the iPod.
Is this the same case with the Apple Camera Connector?
It would be worth buying if it meant the photos were instantly viewable on the iPod.
    Many Thanks.

How did the photos get on the iPod? If they were synced from another computer you need a third-party program like PhoneView or TouchCopy.

  • Camera connector stopped working...

One week ago, I bought a brand new 20gb ipod color along with an apple camera connector. Then I went to Thailand for a 4 week photographic adventure... after 4 days, and transfering three rolls, it suddenly stopped working... the ipod works fine, I can view images and play music, but whenever I attempt to import new images, it connects correctly, tells me that I can import the correct number of images... then when i press import, it starts importing the first image. After working on this for a reasonable time (about the same as the pr. image time when it was working) it just runs through the numbers for the rest of the images without any activity on the camera. Afterwords, there is one new roll on the ipod, containing a single image which it won't let me browse.
I have now tried it with several different flash cards, and two different cameras. both of which previously worked fine.... If anybody has any idea of what to do, please help me! I am now three days into my 4 weeks vacation, and i don't really look forward to spending 10 times the price of an ipod to buy compact flash cards which i have no use for when i get home =(

You know that you don't need to get to the store to send it in for warranty?
And why would you not want the camera to get fixed or have a whole phone.. But if you're not gonna sell it after a year or two, and can live without the camera i guess it's ok to be without
Btw, i think however you could restore your phone all by yourself with doing a total restore. Just back up whatever you got on the phone before like in the link that is given above.

  • Camera Connector - Corrupt Ipod Needs to be restored

I recenently purchased the Apple Camera Connector for a recent vacation. I transfered photos during the vacation and now want to get the photos onto my computer. When I connect, iTunes gives me the following message
"iTunes has detected a iPod that appears to be corrrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disonnecting and reconnecting the iPod".
The iPod functions fine on it's own and I can view the photos so it isn't corrupt. I do not want to restore because then I will loose my photos. Initially I got a message from iTunes where it thought the iPod was formated for Mac use and suggested I restore it. Is it possible that the Camera Connector did something to it to make it think it's for Mac ? How can I get my images off the iPod ? When I try to access it as a drive through file explorer Windows says the drive needs to formated. Any ideas ?

    Hi DanielStarr!
Okay, let's see if we can get your iPod back in shape and being recognized by your computer, if we can.
Disconnect your iPod from your computer.
Then, reset it a few times in a row. To reset an iPod with a clickwheel:
First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times.
Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
    Do that a few times.
Then, let your iPod's battery recharge from your computer for maybe 30-60 minutes.
After you've done that, disconnect it from your computer, and reset it a couple of more times
Now, try putting your iPod into disk mode. To do that, follow the instrucions in this article.
With your iPod in disk mode (or hopefully in disk mode), open iTunes, and connect the iPod to your computer.
If it is not recognized in iTunes, then you could try this kind of sequence a few times: disconnecting, restarting computer, resetting iPod a few times, putting into disk mode, and reconnecting to computer.
If that doesn't do anything to get it recognized in iTunes, then we might as well just try formatting it in Windows.
1 - Connect your iPod to your computer.
2 - When iTunes has finished syncing with your iPod, open "My Computer".
3 - Right-click on your iPod, and click on "Format". (IF your iPod is not showing in My Computer, make sure that disk use is not enabled i iTunes).
4 - Here, verify that your formatting settings are "Default", with the format type set for FAT32. Also, make sure that "Quick Scan" is not selected.
5 - Then, click on "OK" to begin the formatting process.
6 - When this is complete (it might take a while), see if your iPod is recognized in iTunes for a restore.

  • Card Reader that works with Camera Connector!!

Yes, for a mere $12,000, I'll give you the info as to the brand name and where to get it...
OK, but seriously, I was at Surplus Computers in Santa Clara yesterday, and they have all kinds of weird parts 'n stuff. I picked up an OLD Belkin Dual USB Media Reader for CompactFlash & SmartMedia (toldja it was old!)
When I got home, I hooked it up and successfully transferred some pix from one of my CF cards. The thing was only ten bucks!!
I tried to look on Surplus Computer's website to see if it was listed there, but no dice. Guess you gotta hit the store in person.

Just discovered today - a Compact Flash Media Card Reader that connects to the iPod Photo (30 gb) with the Apple camera connector. Best of all is that it only costs $15 Canadian.
Thank you to The Source (used to be Radio Shack in Canada) and London Drugs computer department employees who let me bring in my iPod to test on all their Media Cards.
    And the winner is:
London Drugs - Simple Perfection Card reader/Writer Model CR-T2-UC. This is a USB 1.1 device that comes with a cable (not required). Supports both Type I & II Compact Flash cards or IBM MicroDrive. Plug & Play.
Procedure - CF card into Simple Perfection. Turned on iPod and plugged in Apple camera connector - iPod reads "Connecting". Plugged in Simple Perfection - iPod reads downloading or some such comment. 2 Menu selections and download begins.
    Results/specifications:
Sandisk Ultra II 512 mb card with 100 images totalling 260.74 mb (each image about 2.33 mb) took 9 minutes. These images are 3008 x 2000 in size (Fine). Perfectly acceptable. iPod still at about 3/4 power which is where I started.
Sandisk Type I 512 mb card with 20 images of about 2.33 mb each took 1 minute (very close to 2 minutes). Also acceptable. Same resolution. Still 3/4 power left in iPod which is were I started.
iPod to Mac computer and all downloaded perfectly.
The reverse side of the Simple Perfection case shows that this device is available in 10 countries - sorry but I don't know all the flags - NOT USA but Britain, Australia, France, Japan, Italy, + + +. CD in the package too but I won't be setting up on a computer as I already have card readers on my computers.
By the way I use NIKON 5000, 8700 and D70s (SLR) and all 3 download to iPod with the camera connector - make sure you have PPT enable.
Hope that helps all! I am most impressed with this little $15 device! Yahoo! Yippee!

  • Camera connector question

Does this new iPod fix the issue with the Apple camera connector and finally allow you to see the photos after they are downloaded without having to connect to a computer first?

    Hi Marry,
Is that mean you can view the photos straight after you download from the camera?
What about Movie clip that you take using digital camera, can that be downloaded and view? my digital camera captures MPEG4 movie clip, and I wonder if I can use the ipod as a portable storage device and in the same time play the movie I capture.
    Thanks for your help

  • Camera Connector with Sony DSC-W50

I'm trying to import photos from my Sony DSC-w50 to my 5G 60GB video ipod using the Apple Camera Connector. After connecting the device and turning on the camera I go to the Photo Import menu and select Import Photos it then goes to a screen that says "ready to connect" I'm not sure what to do after that the camera is connected to the ipod via the usb cable and the camera is turned on, seems to be all I can do.
    Any ideas?

ptp is to go to a printer. i have 3 transfer modes on my minolta and 2 on my sony, they both only work when they are in normal mode.
one quick note. i had a problem when i was transfering pics on one occasion, it just stopped mid-way and then would no longer recognise the camera. i turned both off then back on, nothing. i did the select+menu reset and everything was back to normal.
i am quickly finding that the camera connector is a finnicky piece now that i am looking to find a card reader that it will recognize. i doesn't recognise much. good luck

  • Camera Connector with Nikon D2x and 5G 60gb iPod

Has anyone had experience with the D2x (Nikon) and the camera connector on a 5G 60gb iPod?
The camera is compatable with Mass Storage and PTP. The camera works great with iPhoto...plug it in and iPhoto opens and you click the button to download.
Also, I see that the new iPod has a longer lasting battery. Does this help when downloading a large card.
By the way, I called Belkin and their camera connectors are NOT compatable with the new 5G models and the guy said that there is nothing on the drawing board.
    G5 Dual 2ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   3.5gb RAM; 400gb HD

I purchased the 60gb iPod-Video (5G) and after several failed attempts I found the proceedure to upload photos on to the iPod using an Apple camera connector with my D2x. Here goes:
First, reset the ipod (just a precaution...hold down the center button with the Menu button for 6 sec). The screen will go black with a golden apple in the center. The menu will display after a short period.
Turn on the ipod (if it isn't already on from the above proceedure).
Plug in the camera connector to the iPod (without the USB cable attached).
Attach the USB cable to your camera and turn on the camera.
Plug in the cable from the camera to the camera connector which is attached to the iPod.
Wait 20-30 sec and it should work.
I tested the speed in both PTP mode and Mass Storage mode. The import for both was 200mb.
    PTP = 3minutes 10 sec
Mass Storage 1 minute 59 sec.
The battery did go down a lot (about 1/4 after both imports), but after you detach the camera connector and go back to the main menu, it seems to go back up to about 95% full.
