Apple care activation

12/3 warranty runs out of my iPhone and I will enlarge with Apple Care, buying it on the official website. My question is if the code will be active from the time of purchase or when I have in my possession. Thank you nd regards from Spain!.

You should be able to present the documentation at the Genius bar and have them enter the information. Or call the AppleCare number and present your case.

  • Late Apple Care Activation

I bought an iBook G4 in August of 2005 and purchased the two-year Apple Care Protection Plan with it. Though I had already paid for it, I forgot to actually activate the plan (I'm sure my mother told me to do so, but freshman year in college can be quite distracting). I didn't realize this until a couple of weeks ago when I went to the genius bar to replace a disfunctional keyboard and wasn't covered to do so. I have my Apple Care iBook Enrollment Number as well as the original e-mail invoice/receipt/proof-of-purchase for the computer purchase.
My question is this: How can I activate my Apple Care now, so that I can recieve the support I paid for? Or who do I need to contact to activate my coverage?

  • Activating my macbook pro 13" Apple Care protection plan

I purchased my macbook pro 13" in February 2011 from JBHIFI. I have not been using my laptop much and only recently opened up the original box for the laptop and found the apple care protection plan I had purchased with it, however not activated.
    And so, I've tried activating it online providing registration & serial numbers, however it says the following when I try and activate it;
"We apologize for any inconvenience, but registration for this product requires additional documentation. Please submit your proof of purchasefor review by Apple. If your registration is accepted, your product will be covered."
    - I click submit your proof of purchase
    - which then asks me "Please provide your mailing address and describe the reason for your submission."
After that it then asks me to provide the following information...
Gather your sales receipt (with the receipt number, product description, original date of purchase, and reseller details).
Gather the documentation that includes the agreement number for your AppleCare product, if applicable.
Tell us how you want to send your proof of purchase.
The problem is, i NO longer have the receipt, and so can not pass this stage. Why is the registration process being difficult for me?
If it helps, I tried registering over and over, not realising I had been pressing 1 key wrong (about 4 times).
    Help would be appreciated, thanks.

ah... I'll have to wait till tomorrow... they are closed today.

  • Is my apple care protection automatically activated when I purchase the iphone?

is my apple care protection automatically activated when I purchase the iphone?

If you bought Applecare from Apple when you purchased your phone then it is automatically activated - but check out this link for all of your options if you didn't - http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html - be sure to keep all of your documention including emails for future reference

  • HT201198 I Have already activated my apple care but I don't know where my paperwork is can I still use my warranty

    I really need help

Apple would have a record of your Apple Care purchase tied to the device you covered in their system.

  • Can apple replace my stolen iphone? i bought apple care but not insurance from cspire.

its just not fair. apple should at least make sure its stolen. apple care should cover theft. now i know the reason they wont replace apple products, because someone could easily say their iphone got stolen and didnt even have a phone in the firt place. Thats understandable but cant they check my records? ANYTHING! Check with my provider. Cspire knows my phone has been stolen for over a month. IT`s Gone. please! i dont want any other phone ! my account is still active. its suspended but not shut down. please ! is there anything i can do BESIDES find my iphone . that app is useless at times like this!

It's a good idea to check the terms of your insurance first. Some companies will raise your rates as soon as you make any kind of claim, no matter how small, and the deductible may be so high that making a claim is not worthwhile.
Sorry for the loss of your phone. It's a huge pain, I know.

  • Apple Care Protection Program

Ok, I'm getting an 80Gb iPod for my b'day,YAY! I was wondering about the limitations of the apple care program. What stops me from buying it now and not activating it until there is a problem? Or not even buying it until there is a problem? What are the limitations on purchasing and activations?

    take a look at this

  • How long do i have to purchase apple care?

How long after the purchase date do i have until i can no longer purchase apple care? Ive heard from people you have within the year and from others that its only 30 days after the purchasing date.

The one year base warranty has to be still in effect when you activate AppleCare. Just don't cut it too close to the bone in case the activation process gets snagged.

  • Can I still get apple care?

    Hey,
I was wondering can I still get apple care on my Mac BookPro 13" I got it in Late 2011?

The starting clock is actual date of purchase.  And they do count all of the actual day even you bought it at 6 PM.  And if you buy it online "purchase date" is when they process your card, not when you receive it.
Get AppleCare a week in advance to be sure all snafus in getting it activated will not push you beyond that first year.

  • Apple Care replaced my dead, out-out-of-warranty Airport Express

Today, I became one of the hundreds (thousands??) of Airport Express users whose AE died just a few months out of warranty. I faithfully purchase Apple Care (3-year extended warranty) from Apple for every Mac I buy.
A few years ago, my graphite Airport died, and the Apple Care rep gladly replaced it due to my active Apple Care contract at that time. Today, I thought I would receive the same courtesy, thanks again to my TWO active Apple Care contracts that were in place well before I purchased the AE.
My initial Apple Care rep denied my request for a replacement AE, because, he argued, the AE was not purchased at the same time with a Mac. I explained to him the graphite Airport story above, and he dug his heels in deeper. I insisted that he send me up the food chain to a superviser, and after 4-5 min on the phone, the supervisor came on, apologized for his tech's mis-interpretation of policy, and authorized the replacement on the spot. He told me that his techs would have this clearly explained to them for future Apple Care contract holders who call up with a dead AE.
Extra info...I live near an Apple Store, and asked if I may go there and pick up the replacement. He said the decision would be up to the store management--if they had stock, etc. I said I wanted to take my chances and go up there, so he instantly made me an appointment with the genius bar within the hour. This Apple Care supervisor was a real pro. He made it clear that Apple Care covers an AE even if the AE is not purchased with a Mac. He also told me he would make a special request within my case report to the store for a stock unit. Bam! I walked in and got hooked up! Apple does take care of its customer (who might need to be a bit more persistant than need be at times) after all.
Good luck should you find yourself in the same boat I was in...By the way, I am posting this via my replacement AE on the same day, and I would swear it produces faster internet speed than the fried one!

    Hi, Steve
that's one of the good points of the forum here: having a lot of trouble the past few weeks with my iMac, and now also with a brandnew minimac, I get back full with hope by reading your post here.
no, i'm not sarcastic. I think you tell us that we can get treated correctly if we insist to be treated correctly. and that is a a helpful advice.
    Thanks, Thomas

There is a problem with the activation process between your machine and Apple to verify your machine is allowed to reinstall OS X.
You will have to call AppleCare to resolve this issue. (even if you did't purchase AppleCare you still call their number)

Another method is to take it back to the AppleStore you purchased the machine at.

  • Yay for Time Machine and Apple Care!

I bought my 15 inch MacBook Pro in 2007 from another person who had purchased Apple Care for it, which expires next month (March '09). I run Leopard with Time Machine backing up hourly to an external LaCie drive. Yesterday my computer wouldn't boot up (gray Apple with spinning lines). I booted off TechTools Delux and it reported bad directory and asked if I wanted to rebuild, but warned that there were serious errors. I chose not to. Then I booted off the Leopard DVD and Disk Utility could not repair the drive. I took it to the Apple Store, where they replaced the failed hard drive the same day at no charge! I brought it home and restored from Time Machine backup - all is back to normal, exactly as before the failure, only now I have a new (slightly larger capacity) disk. I had just installed iLife '09, and they told me perhaps the disk activity (searching for faces etc.)put it over the edge. Initially, after restore, iPhoto "quit unexpectedly" and would not run. So I did a software update, and then it opened OK. I worried Time Machine would not work to restore all docs, photos, music, mail, etc. apps and settings, but it does!

Glad to hear it worked out well for you, and I hope others can learn a lesson from you: ALWAYS backup. You never know when something might go wrong.

  • My iMac has slowed down considerably soon after my Apple Care expired.  Reminds me of the PC days.

What can I do about my iMac slowing down.  Shortly after my Apple Care ran out it started to slow considerably.  Kind of like having a PC again.  On a PC I would defrag it, but Apple tells me it is not recommended for the iMac.  Tired of watching the multi-colored circle spin.  What can be done?  I just upgraded to Lion.  The problem seems a bit worse since.  AND I can no longer get my iMac to back  up with Time Machine.   What gives?

Try using disk utility on your hard drive to repair it, also repair your permissions.  Open activity monitor and take a look at your RAM and CPU usage.  You may have a program or tow taking up a lot of your resources.

  • Apple care protection plan for macbook pro with retina display

hi!!! i recently purchased macbook pro with retina display. Im curious about the apple care protection plan to extend the warranty of my macbook. I would just like to ask if the apple care protection plan includes battery replacement w/in  the next 2 yrs?

it is like car insurance. You purchase it hoping to never need it. But thank your lucky stars for having it after the sheet metal goes CRUNCH!
BTW, AC needs to be activated while the base warranty is in effect. This means you can wait till the last month or so and avoid having to plonk all the cash up front.

  • When is it to late to get Apple Care

I bought a 13" macbook last year may is it too late to get Apple care? If not how long will the apple car last for?

The 1 year anniversary is to the Original "New" purchase from Apple or designated seller. It does not apply to purchasing used.
So if you bought it new in May 2010, and purchased & activated APP prior to the anniversary date, then it will extend your warranty until May 2013.
