Apple care contract for ipad

does anyone know if an apple care contract bought in the uk would be valid in belgium?
My mother (uk based) wants to buy an ipad for her grandchildren (living in Belgium).  She doesn't know if it makes sense to buy the apple care contract or not?  If the thing breaks down in Beligum and it has to be sent to the UK every time, that will cost more postage than  sending it to somewhere in Belgium.
And it woudl be even more wasted money if Apple refused to repair the ipad because it was being used outside the country of purchase.

It should have been registered by Apple when you bought it online. Go here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and check.

  • Apple Care plan for MBP

Does anyone know why the Apple care plan for MBP is more expensive than all the other Apple care plans? Even the Mac Pro has a cheaper plan. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's obvious to me. My Mac Pro sits in one place, undisturbed. It has a generous, efficient cooling system. It's easy to service.
My MacBook Pro is carried around town. It's jostled back and forth in my bag as I walk, or as my car goes over bumps. I'm always putting it on tables, creating a slight impact each time. It goes through a lot more power/temperature cycles as it sleeps and wakes. The components are smaller, tightly packed, more expensive to disassemble and service. A laptop goes through a lot more stress and trauma than a desktop, so a laptop is much more prone to failure.

  • Apple Care Protection for previously purchased iPod...

Is it possible to buy an Apple Care plan for an iPod that has already been purchased and not purchased from an Apple Store?

It's over the 1 year warranty by about a month and a half. Would you recommend I try and have Apple service it or take it back to Best Buy?
(It has already been determined through a previous thread of mine that it NEEDS to be serviced or replaced so I know something must be done)
    THANKS!

  • Apple Care Coverage for Macbook Pro

    Hello,
Last year I opened thread about Apple Care Coverage... and finally I did, purchase apple care for my mbp mid 2012.
unfortunately, my macbook pro date & time keep changing each time I turned it off. I already tried to reset SMC but it is still not working.
looks like my battery died (like PC, it has battery to save date & time) right? also, I have some issues with my display, it showed something (like dead pixel) but only when I put my display on full  black color, pixels is showing kind of white/grayish color.
Plus my backlight keyboard (some of its keyboard tuts) is not so bright like normal.
those 3 problems above, Can I claim it to Apple Authorized Reseller (Indonesia doesn't have Apple Store). to fix it for me for free? or will I get charged for price?
does Apple Care cover up these 3 problems?

The only thing that I can think of that may not be replaceable under AppleCare is the battery: Apple considers the batteries on MacBook Pros to be 'consumables.' But it's worth a shot.
You may not have problems getting the battery replaced and your AppleCare should take care of the other problems.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Apple Care - Coverage for broken display? iPhone 4S

    Hi,
next week I get my new (first) iPhone from Vodafone (Germany). An iPhone 4S, and as all know, the display is very critical. My old phone, fell very often down, but it was an HTC desire and so nothing happen. But I think, with a iPhone 4S I have not so much luck.
That the reason, why I think about Apple Care. Is there a Coverage for broken displays?
Or do I need Apple Care+? If I need Apple Care+, is this available for germany? Because I don't see it at the german page. I think I can buy it, but accept the apple care+ me from germany?
And second question. Do I need the Apple Care for the first year of my iPhone? Because it's free for the first year if I understand it right, and then can buy it for the second year? Or do I understand it wrong? If this it right, again: are broken display covered for the first free/included year?
    Thanks for your help
    schnuffi

Broken displays are only covered if they were a factory defect at the time of purchase. Otherwise, they result from user negligence which is not covered under the warranty.
AppleCare Extended warranty is an addition to the one year default warranty. You can purchase AppleCare Extended Warranty any time before the one year factory warranty expires which is one year from date of purchase.

  • Does Apple Care Plus for iPhone provide International Coverage?

I purchased my iPhone 5 (GSM-Unlocked) on vacation in Miami with the additional Apple Care Plus, and I was wondering if my iPhone was damaged in any shape way or form could I bring it to an Apple Store in Holland for repair services. E.g. Shattered glass of the screen?

No. It is only valid in the country of origin. Just like the original warranty.

  • Apple Health app for iPad (and Personal Health Record)

Is the Apple Health App only for exercising and doing physical activities ... or ... will it be for keeping one's "Personal Health Record" on your iOS device?
I would hope that Apple would have their Health app for keeping records like doctors' visits, health records, lab results, hospital stays, doctor lists, reminders for appointments, keeping weight data over the long term, BMI, blood pressure and so on. All this kind of stuff is very well suited to be done on the iPad and I was looking for the Apple Health app (for the iPad) to see if Apple incorporated this "full functionality" for "health" for people to use. I just can't find the Health app to use on the iPad.
I've already downloaded several apps separate from Apple which are supposed to keep records and doctors visits and lab results and blood pressure ... etc, and etc ... but I haven't found them to be completely adequate. No one is able to provide a fully functional and complete health record and all its functionality (including x-rays and lab results and analysis) for iOS devices.
I suppose that the field is "too new" for the iOS devices to be fully functional yet ... but I would hope that Apple would "get there" first, with its "Health app".

My iphones, that get tossed every 24-36 months, have 16GB of memory,
Which is no reason you can't still store your Health data on it. The Health data can be transferred from one phone to the next if you use an encrypted back up.
Apple appears to have been looking at the iPhone as a collector of data and Health as the front end to that as well as a repository of information collected from other sources. As an iPad currently can't collect the data the way an iPhone does, the function of the Health app would be slightly different than on an iPhone. I'm not suggesting there is anything "wrong" with how you would like to use Health, only that it appears to be a bit different than how Apple thinks Health should be used. Submit feedback to Apple letting them know what you'd like to see.
Personally, I really find the Health app only useful as a transfer conduit at this time. I find myself rarely looking at the dashboard. Perhaps my opinion will change with the release of the Apple Watch.

  • Apple care protection for MBP early 2011

Apple care came with TechTool Deluxe but my early 2011 MBP came with Snow Leopard. Now that I have Lion, Tech Tool states that it has not been fully tested with Lion. Short of buying a new copy, is there a way to get Tech Tool for Lion?
    Thanks
    JAW

Well, I ran the progran anyway, TechTool that is and looked for updates within the program and it said I was running the latest version 3.1.3. I ran the program and it crashed. I was the crash test dummy.

  • How long does an apple wireless keyboard for iPad battery last?

does anyone know how long does an apple keyboard for iPad battery last? Thanks

No.  Once sn iOS version comes out that is not compatible with your hardware, you cannot, obviously, update iOS any longer.  However, your iPad running the last release of iOS compatible with it will continue to run that iOS release at the same speed it always did.
Nothing about any computer ever slows down with age - your cpu, RAM and storage all function at the same speed as they always did.  New software may add features that tax your system more than a newer system would be taxed, but nothing about your system changes just because the device ages.
At some point, our system simply is unable to update or run newer software because that newer or updated software requires hardware features that yours simply does not have.  But your exisiting software on your existing hardware will continue to run just as it always has.
As to when your system becomse unable to handle new software or iOS features, that is purely a matter of how quickly newer hardware comes out and how quickly software developers move to new features that your system cannot handle.
There is no inherent reason to believe that an iPad 4 will not be compatible with the next release of iOS - it might not be, but it may very well be.  Depends entirely on what changes the next release (whenever that may be) introduces, and what new device hardware Apple may be working on.

  • Possible Apple Care Void for my iMac

I Bought my iMac in September 2006. Support is about to end soon.
If it has ran fine for almost a year, anyone out there still reccomend purchasing the Apple Care Extension Plan?
I'm a student so it comes out to $119 for me.
    BUT One Problem !!!!!!!!!
My problem is. I accidentally plugged the DVI adapter into the Ethernet port without looking. The Adapter actually made a snugged fit but later found out It was wrong when there was nothing apearing from the Second Monitor.
For that happening, one of the little pins in the Ethernet port broke off and now the Ethernet port can't receive any Juice, Luckily for me I still have Airport. Though I have lost Gigabyte ethernet, though I will never use that.
I'm questioning if this Voided the Warrentee Coverage?
I would like to know if it's still elegible for the Apple Care Plan, that way I shouldn't bother if it is voided?

However if your logic board later died from unrelated causes, they are very likely to still replace it, which would get you a new ethernet port too.
I bought an iBook G3 with a broken ethernet port (like, broken off, it wasn't there anymore) and a broken logic board (normal iBook G3 failure). Apple replaced the logic board, and in the process, I got a new ethernet port

  • Apple Care Registration for Macbook Pro

Hi all, I bought a Apple care together with my MACbook Pro, but the thing is once I register it doesnt go through after "3. Provide your address information" item 1 and 2 is finished and has a check already but doesnt go through. No next button or ok button. But some details are seen at the left. The only thing clickable is the signout. I signed out. Then signed in again and it tells me I have no apple care registration. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you're still having issue and haven't received email confirmation trying ringing Apple support to register it with them:

  • Well i have the apple care plan for my iphone and i lost my headphone what do i do to get another pair? Can i still get them for free?

I would greatly appreciate any help with this thank you!

I'm afraid you will have to buy another pair.  Apple Care is an extended warranty, it does not cover Theft, Loss, Damage by user.
