Apple care, finding days remaining

Once upon a time I coulda sworn I could plug my serial into the support section for warrantee information and get an actual 'days remaining'. Now all I get is date of purchase and that I have APP. Did Apple change how one finds this information or am I doing something wrong?
Quad 2.5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Mathue,
I believe they have changed and you now have to contact Apple to get that information either by e-mail or phone.I'd have your purchase info at the ready just in case they want it.

  • Apple Care Certificate ?

    Hi,
I got Apple Care with my iMac a month ago; I enrolled Apple Care the day I bought the computer. After I registered my protection plan, Apple said they will send me (by mail) a "Certificate" for it. It's been a month now and still I haven't received this so called Certificate. Do I absolutely need this certificate ? What is it for ?
    Thanks

How can I check the address attached to my Apple ID prior to my AppleCare registration ?
First, verify which Apple ID you used to register your AppleCare. If you believe that you used the same ID you are now using for Discussions, click the "Support" section of the menu bar at the top of this page. Scroll down the main Support page to the "AppleCare" section in the far right column, and click on the link for "Register and View AppleCare Agreements>"
You will then either log in to your account, or you will see a list of the "AppleCare Agreements" that have been registered to your Apple ID and that are current. On the left you will see the "Agreement Type" column, and on the right the "Agreement Number" column. Find "APP - IMAC/EMAC" on the left and the enrollment number of the AppleCare Plan that you registered for your iMac on the right. If the enrollment is listed as you expect, you have verified which account needs to have its Account profile updated. If you have no AppleCare Agreements registered to that Apple ID, there will two empty boxes below the two column headings, and no listings.
If your Agreement isn't listed, that means you used a different Apple ID to register the AppleCare for your iMac. Log out and then log into the correct Apple ID and repeat the above until you find the Apple ID to which you registered your iMac's AppleCare. Once you have logged into your correct account, go to
    http://myinfo.apple.com/
and check the address listed in your account profile. That will be where your AppleCare Certificate was mailed. Update your profile if necessary, although it will probably be too late to impact the mailing that already went out. Log out.

Not only is it a good idea, for proof of purchase, to retain the iMac's purchase invoice, either the original store Invoice or a copy of the emailed Invoice you received from Apple, but it may be necessary to also provide proof of purchasing AppleCare. DON'T rely on Apple to provide either of these in the future. In the past they have not been able to do so, but may still require that you be able to do so. If you can not, you may have to accept their "estimated" date of purchase, which I've found can be wrong by at least FOUR months.

  • I have 2 iphoto libraries but one is lost, missing, cannot seem to find it... tried an apple care person - they were no help - we use Time Machine for external backup... but cannot find my older iPhoto library! I desperately need some help!

I have recently had something really odd happen within iphoto.  My photos from May-Oct 2013 appeared to be missing from my primary Iphoto library.
last night I was trying to find any additional Iphoto libraries on my Imac... I could not find them... but then somehow the May-Oct 2013 library showed up and now I cannot find the "current" primary Iphoto library.   I sought help from apple care today but no solutoin from them after 2 hours trying.  I have timemachine that backs up my Imac each day to an external hard drive.   When I open Iphoto while holding down the "option" key - it lets me choose which Iphoto library... but only (1) library comes up...  I can't figure out what happened - but it seems that I must have more than one Iphoto library because yesterday I was able to see all my photos except the "gap in dates" from May-Oct 2013.  Today - I can only open a Library called Iphoto2014... and it contains the photos from the gap in dates.  I can't "see" any other options to open photos... but just yesterday there appeared to be a different library available.
Any advice or steps i should take to locate my missing photos - would be soooooo much appreciated.

  • Is there a way to find out my Apple Care serial?

Firstly, I'm new here so if this is in the wrong section then I apologise now
I recieved my MacBook Pro 13" in September '10 for my 18th Birthday off my Dad. My Dad says he remembers buying Apple Care for my MacBook but because I was an Apple N00b back then I didnt realise that I had to register it online with the code from the box, and my Dad is not sure where the Apple Care box is or if he even has it anymore!! Is there anyway to check if he did buy Apple Care without having to turn the house upside down and find the receipt? And if so is there anyway to locate that serial?
I have logged onto both my Apple account and my Dad's and neither of us of have the Mac registered.
If I went into an Apple Store with my Mac would they be able to tell me?
Any help or advice on this would be great, so thanks in advance!
    Kieran.

  • APPLE CARE - How do I find out the date of purchase of my mac?

Can anyone point out how do I find out the exact date of purchase of my mac? I would like to purchase the apple care extended warranty and I do not recall the exact date of purchase of my mac...just before or after a full year...? Can I look it up anywhere?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
    Max

You can go to this site,
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
it tells you when your warranty expires which is 1 year after you purchased it, thats possibly the easiest way, but if you bought it from a store it may be different as it may be the date they purchased it.
With the extension program, if i purchase one now, my MBP was purchased april last year, will the extended warranty ad onto the date i purchase the extension program or from april last year when i purchased the mbp? I'm wondering because if purchase it now that effectively makes it covered for warranty for up to 4 years!

  • Need to buy Apple Care within 60 days of purchase date?

Since when you need to buy Apple Care within 60 days of purchase date? I thought you can do it before the end of one-year limited warranty, no?

    shotarobkk wrote:
Wrong. I don't think so that it was like that since forever like you said. It used to be that you can buy the Apple Care before the end of one-year limited warranty. It's changed as well for iPad, but stay the same for iMac and the monitors.
No, sorry, but AppleCare+ has always been a limited purchase option.  You may be confusing extending AppleCare, which only covered technical support for an additional year, but since AppleCare+ covers replacements now, when it was first introduced, it started with a 60 day buy it or not be able to buy it option.

  • I want to buy apple car protection but I missed the cut off by 12 days. Anything I can do?

I want to buy apple car protection but I missed the cut off by 12 days. Anything I can do? It would be great if Apple reminded me. There's nothing wrong with my laptop and it is well taken care of. I just want the extra protection. Any help?

No, there's nothing you can do at this point.  Note that AppleCare must be a better deal in the long run for Apple than for you, otherwise they wouldn't sell it.  The same is true for all extended warranties.  In the long run, you should spend less paying out-of-pocket for warranty repairs (which don't happen often anyway) than buying AppleCare.  Especially since AppleCare doesn't cover accidental damage.

  • Wait to 364th day then purchase Apple Care?

Hi all, I notice online, there is section where I can purchase Apple Care for 3 years cause i didnt already purchase it at the store.
My question is how long can i wait to purchase it..Can i wait till the 364th day to order it?

One thing AppleCare will get you in the meantime is no-charge support. You only get 90 days with the standard warranty.
And don't wait until the last day, at least not without checking the date Apple has for your Mac. Plug its serial number in here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
They'll have the ship date, not necessarily the date you took delivery.
And if you bought it from a 3rd party retailer, such as BestBuy, they'll have the date shipped to BestBuy. There's a procedure to change it, but you have to either take your receipt to an Apple store, or fax or email it to AppleCare.

  • Can i purchase apple care if i had my phone longer then  90 days

can i purchase apple care after my 90 days have ended ?

No. And, it's 30 days from date of purchase.

  • Can I purchase apple care for time capsule that is less than 90 days old?

can I purchase apple care for time capsule that is less than 90 days old?

    Sure enough...
The 90 day period basically applies for telephone support if you don't have Apple Care (a three year apple hardware/apple software coverage that would be similar to an extended warranty for your TV) with the outstanding feature that you have unlimited telephone support for the entire 3 year period beginning when your Mac was first purchased.
Your situation is similar to mine: I bought my MBP this august and just (literally) bought the 2TB TC. So the three year period began when the Mac was purchased and will run out when the MBP reaches it's exact 3 year anniversary. I went 4 or 5 levels above the sales staff and reached an individual at Apple whose exact title is: Sales & Service Management Representive. The first question I asked was is my TC covered under Apple Care and for how long, etc.: as the TC (as well as the MBP) have only a limited1 year warranty without Apple Care.
If you've been following the posts on this exact site and several others, you'll see many upon many TC's experience a premature death around 18-24 months. So IMHO I think Apple Care is a good deal: coverage for your Mac as well as the TC (double coverage).
On a lighter note something like double your pleasure double your fun: Xerox your paycheck!
    cheers...

  • HT201269 I am not finding my backup of my Iphone 5 that I backed up in itunes. I need to put the old information on my replaced phone from Apple care.

I am not finding my backup of my Iphone 5 that I backed up in itunes. I need to put the old information on my replaced phone from Apple care.

the itunes back up can be found in preferences/devices on ur itunes
the preferences can be reached by going to:
    windows pc: edit/preferences
    mac pc: itunes/preferences
check ur icloud as well in case u had the 'back up to icloud' option checked instead of the 'to this computer' option when u backed it up to ur itunes.
if neither of those have ur back up then ur back up is not in that pc and not in ur icloud for that apple id. it might be somewhere else (another pc maybe) or it doesnt actually exist.
