Apple Care new or old Versions

Hi im trying to buy an apple care for my mac book pro 13" which is from last year and the one year warranty is almost out but theres a newer version and an old which one should i buy?

Canon support says this is an Apple issue, Apple Care 3+ yrs old.

I just purchased a Canon PIXMA MG7250 all-in-one printer. I'm connecting via WiFi. The printer installed correctly, the Mac recognizes it and works via WiFi just fine. But, there are separate drivers for the printer and scanner and my Mac won't recognize the scanner driver.
Called Canon support, spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with them. They seemed knowledgable and helpful, took me through a bunch of steps including:
- Checking all settings on the Canon IJ Scan Utility
- Ensuring both printer and scanner were on the same network (both connect to a Belkin 2.4 Extender via Time Capsule as router)
- Ensuring network sharing turned on
- Ensuring all MAC software updates installed
- Removing and reinstalling printer
- Repairing disk permissions
… and finally ensuring that the previous printer's files were completely removed. It was a Kodak Artisan (ESP 7250 IIRC). Canon had me check the TWAIN folder under Macintosh HD/Computer/Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources. Even though I thought I removed the Kodak files there were still 2 in this folder. "A-ha!" the Canon rep exclaimed, "That's it!"
So I trashed those files, removed the printer, completely reinstalled, checked the TWAIN folder again expecting to see the newly-placed Canon files and… nothing.
At this point the rep had exhausted all her avenues and suggested I reach out to Apple Care. The computer is over 3 years old so… here I am. I'm computer literate but not exceptionally savvy. Anyone here have any ideas?

Life got in the way for a while and troubleshooting this had to take a back seat. Found some time to finally figure this thing out.
@rkaufmann87, I tried connecting via USB and going through the steps for adding printers that Apple recommends per your link… except when I connected the printer, instead of simply following prompts to add the latest drivers I received an error message (immediately upon inserting the USB to the Mac) that there was a network error. The dialog box acknowledged that a driver was available, but it could not download due to the error.
For the record there was no network error.
So I started Googling the issue and saw a recommendation to disable wifi on the Mac and allow the OS to install from the local files instead of trying to connect. That didn't work either.
So I started searching for drivers for the MG7520 and came across http://printerdriverseries.com/. I noticed that the full driver download was a different (older) version than the one on Canon's website.
Updated version on Canon's site: mac-mg7500-1_1-mcd.dmg
Older version on printerdriverseries.com: mac-mg7500-1_0-mcd.dmg
So I downloaded that, installed and… success!!!! It's some sort of compatibility issue with the most updated scanner driver and OS X 10.7.5. So I'm good to go, right?

Wrong. Dark red eyes suddenly appeared on my PIXMA's touchscreen display and a voice boomed, "THIS IS NOT MY FINAL FORM! MWA-HA-HA-HA!"
While the scanner works fine, now the printer driver won't work. Printing options aren't listed in the Canon Quick Menu and no software on the Mac acknowledges that any printer is attached, even though it was the full driver suite that I installed.
So I tried downloading and installing the latest printer driver-only from the Canon site. No luck.
Tried installing only the Printer Driver and Quick Start software from the updated 1_1-,mcd.dmg (hoping the previous version of the scanner would remain and I'd be good to go). No luck. Once again I get an error dialogue box saying Apple could not automatically install the necessary driver. After searching more I came across a site that said "Apple no longer automatically installs printer drivers in Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8." Is that true? It certainly seems that way from experience.
FML. Not literally, but this is frustrating. First a printer that works fine but no scanner. Now I have a wonderful scanner, but can't print.
Back to the drawing board.

Can I still purchase Apple Care for my old iPhone 4?

When I got my iPhone 4 nearly a year ago, I was told that I could purchase Apple Care at any point in the first year to extend the warranty an extra year, etc. I was planning to do that today (I couldn't take the financial hit before it became necessary at the year's end), but I see now that with the iPhone 4S has come AppleCare+, which much be pruchased within 30 days after your phone purchase. As I have an older model, I don't see how this should apply to me—30 days had already come and gone before they came out with this new policy! So, my question is this: How can I purchase the original Apple Care extenstion for my older phone?

You cannot purchase the extended warranty after the end of the standard one year warranty. You might find other companies that offer limited forms of extended warranties such as those offered for used cars.

Only if you purchased it within your first year of ownership. You cannot purchase it once your original one year warranty has expired.
Apple does not usually sell refurbished computers more than one year old. You can buy AppleCare when purchasing a refurbished model from Apple.

New vs old versions of apple loops

Hi,
I just received my upgrade from Logic Express 8 to Logic Studio Pro. Although I'm not a huge user of apple loops they do, from time to time come in handy. So I have to ask this question... Most of the apple loops on my current system are of the old type. These include the ones that came with garageband 7/Express 7 and Jam Packs 1 & 3. If I replace these with the new loops will Logic Pro 8 still play back the songs I've created using the old loops and substitute the new equivalents? Question 2. In a recent post on the Express 8 forum a user lamented the fact that the installation of Express 8 also overwrote his project files from Express 7. He lost them all. In my case this did not happen and, in any case, I have them backed up on an external hard drive. Is the installation of Pro 8 is likely to overwrite the project files of Express 8? If so I need to give myself the time to get them back. Last question. I'd like to give myself enough time to do the installation all in one go. I will not be installing Mainstage, Soundtrack Pro 2 or the surround sound specific material at this time. How long is this installation going to take?

Acutally these are two separate features of the new model. Dual band keeps the connection from slowing down if someone connects using a computer that only supports the slower connection. Older routers default to the slower connection speeds if there are any G clients.
Guest networking works on both connections. Your guests could be using the same radio to connect as you, but it will appear that they are on a different network. They will also not be able to see any of the computers on your network and also not any of the computers on the "guest" network, unless you have enabled this on the Time Capsule.
If you have any devices that use 802.11G and newer devices that use 802.11n then it is definitely worth the $150. Sharing your internet with friends without compromising security is nice too.
I did notice that connections seem stronger than the Airport Extreme that I replace that shipped the same time as the old Time Capsule.

I am not definite about the price, but I got mine (the older, late 2006 model) at $950 (Combo / 1.83ghz/ 512mb / 60gb) a week before the new ones came out.
Wait it for a little more and I'm sure the Apple stores would sell the old ones cheaper.

Invalid license after moving software to a new computer; old version disengaged

I bought a new MacBook Pro. I copied PhotoShop Elements 10, along with other software, from my old Mac and added it to the new one. I got a request on the new Mac to enter the license. I did that and receive notice that the license was invalid. Some investigation revealed that I did not have permission to use the software on two computers. I disengaged the software on the old Mac. I'm still getting a request for the license, but every time I enter it, I get the same invalid license error message. I have emptied the cache and dumped cookies on my browser. What else can I do?

Your license does allow the use of the software on two computers. The problem is that you can never, never move an installed version of PSE. PSE is not a tidy package like most mac apps; its installer strews stuff all over your hard drive and you can never hope to get all the necessary bits and bobs. You must ALWAYS install PSE from scratch on a new machine.
By attempting to move it, you have made a lot more problems for yourself. Now you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
After which you can go around and manually remove all the PSE bits you've brought over. Look not only in Applications, but also in hard drive>library>Application Support>Adobe and also in your username>library>preferences. (You can't use spotlight to search. It's programmed to skip these kinds of files.)
After that you can reinstall from scratch.

New computer - old versions of Illustrator

I have a new computer and V 8.0 and 10.0 upgrade in Illustrator. I've installed them but when I start it from the start menu (Windows 7 from XP), it starts to start with the box and loading files and then it stops. Nothing. It's in my program list but it's like it stalls and dissappears.
Any ideas? Thank you

Removed old version, but it keeps updating?

About two months ago, I installed the new Garage Band 10. Everything is fine with that version. It installed in parallel with the old version, GB 6, and I was able to compare them. Both the new and old version had been purchased through the App Store on my Macbook Air.
After about a month, I decided to download the extra content for GB 10. So in order to have ample room for all of that, I deleted the old version (GB 6) and its content. I followed some instructions in a forum for deleting GB 6.. So that seemed to go well also. I've been running in GB 10, all the new content works fine.
But today I happened to look at the list of my Software Updates, which are set to auto for app store applications. Ever since I removed GB 6, Software Update has apparently been trying to install an update for the GB 6 content. It's done so every single night since I removed GB 6.
So I'm guessing that there's something I needed to remove for GB 6, and I failed to remove it, so Software Update keeps trying to install the program again? Hmmm. Any thoughts?

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.
