Apple Care+ Purchase

You now have to purchase Apple Care+ at the time you purchase the phone. Does anyone know if this will be something you can just click on to buy when you go to preorder the Iphone 4S on Friday?

I had the same problem, and there are many conflicting responses from various sources.
I actually called verizon customer service to ask about this and I was told they did not offer it at this time.
The person I spoke with had no idea what applecare+ was, and I had to explain to her the difference between it and the standard applecare (which does not cover the 4S).
If you search for the issue on apple's community boards, there are all sorts of responses. The most common response is that we are supposed to bring our boxed, unactivated phone in to a brick and mortar apple store and they will allow us to purchase applecare+ then.
However, I have been to two brick and mortar apple stores (Honolulu, HI), and spoke with the managers for each store, and they did not even know that we are not able to purchase applecare+ through carrier website pre-orders. One of them told me to cancel my order and preorder through them (which actually will reset your data package to one of their limited plans, even if you are supposed to be able to "grandfather in" your unlimited data plan). Another told me to bring my phone in on the release date and return and re-buy the phone.
Luckily, one of the malls I went to has an apple store and a verizon kiosk. I went over to verizon, and again, the salesperson had no idea that applecare+ was not available on the website. Another salesperson jumped in and said that on October 12th a toll-free number would be released for all pre-ordered 4S phones purchased through carrier websites, which would allow us to buy applecare+.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I purchased an iPad Air online intending to take it to the store to get applecare. I had an accident & now I can't take it to the store & I don't have any other way to get it there either. To meet the required 30 days after purchase, I need to purchase Applecare in the next couple days. Does Apple make any exceptions to let one purchase Apple Care online, if they can't make it to the store? My iPad Air is in perfect condition.

Any answers that you get here would merely be anecdotal. What worked for one person, would not guarantee that it would work for you.
Way back (almost two years ago) when I bought my iPad 3 at a Best Buy store, I brought the device home, called the Apple 800 number and was able to purchase AppleCare+ sight unseen by Apple. There is no way that I think that would work today, and I believe that my experience was a fluke, but it did occur the way that I am describing it.
All that you can do is try and hope.

Apple care & purchase of computer

does apple care cover apple computers bought from amazon or ebay? or does it only cover computers bought from an electronics store or the apple store? I read over some of the terms for apple care, but could not see anything about coverage based on where one buys their computer.

You can't buy AppleCare for a used computer if the original owner bought it more than a year ago. You would need the original owner's purchase documentation to prove the original purchase date if he didn't register the purchase with Apple.

it was still showing the $1.99. I had $1.51 left on my account. I clicked "buy", it downloaded. I assumed it would kick back that there wasn't enough money. But I just got an email receipt from paypal for $.61. So that didn't work.

It' possible that the G4 version will in fact work
with the Intel Mini -- as far as support from Apple
is concerned. (You'd have to call Apple to find
out.)
Where the packages must differ is that the included
repair CD/DVD for the G4 will not be able to boot and

Apple would have a record of your Apple Care purchase tied to the device you covered in their system.

I could not get my iPhone 5 which purchased in Australia repaired by apple in the US. Guys from apple retail store verified a replacement for me and asked to call apple care. However, apple care said they cannot get it fixed nor repaired.

My iPhone 5 got some defects and I went to a apple reatil store yesterday. The guy from the genius bar told me that he verified a replacement for me. And I need to call 1-800-apple care to finish that process. I called apple care and one of the senior supervisors told me that I have to send it back to Australia (where I bought this iPhone) to get it repaired. Turns out I could not solve the problem after a apple store vist and several calls. I just want to know if there any way to solve this. This iPhone is a factory unlocked one that purchased in an apple retail store in Melbourne at the day it was first released. And my experience today is not what I can tell as fair. I will be really appreciate for any helps and advices. Thanks.

Warranty on iPhone is not international, but valid only in country of
original sale. Since you purchased the iPhone in Australia, your warranty
is valid only in Australia. You must either personally return the iPhone
to Australia for evaluation and possible replacement or sent it to someone
in Australia to take into Apple for the evaluation. Apple will not accept
international shipments for repair nor will Apple ship out of the country
after replacement.
Sorry to be the bearer of this news, but it is the way iPhone warranty and
replacement has always worked.

APPLE CARE - How do I find out the date of purchase of my mac?

Can anyone point out how do I find out the exact date of purchase of my mac? I would like to purchase the apple care extended warranty and I do not recall the exact date of purchase of my mac...just before or after a full year...? Can I look it up anywhere?

it tells you when your warranty expires which is 1 year after you purchased it, thats possibly the easiest way, but if you bought it from a store it may be different as it may be the date they purchased it.
With the extension program, if i purchase one now, my MBP was purchased april last year, will the extended warranty ad onto the date i purchase the extension program or from april last year when i purchased the mbp? Apple care has been of absolutely no help to me. My 10 month old iPhone 5 stopped charging one fine day and Apple denies any responsibility for the same. Between my Family of 4, we Re currently using 5 Apple devices. Am so disappointed with the service from Apple. Although my cell phone is well within the warranty period , I have been denied a replacement. And the Shield Insurance that I purchased is now declining the insurance amount even. They insist I prove that it is an accidental damage. And Apple refuses to cover what they choose to call a 'physical damage'. So where does that leave me ?!

I cannot see the damage. But the screening centre has pics showing it is damaged. Apple refuses to cover a physical damage. But the reason the device is damaged could only be coz it had a poor battery life from start. The iPhone 5 is infamous for the same. We all know it. Apple conveniently denies responsibility.
And the Insurance company says it covers only accidental damage. Now how am I to prove an 'accidental' damage ? Unless I lie to them....

The one year base warranty has to be still in effect when you activate AppleCare. Just don't cut it too close to the bone in case the activation process gets snagged.

Apple Care follows the device, not the person that purchased it. As long as the device is registered under the Apple Care, then it stays with the device. The person purchasing the device would get the advantage of Apple Care.

Is there an "APPLE STORE" in India or you just went in a reseller store?
There is a replacement program for sleep/wake button for free. Just look for an Apple Store and make a reservation at Genius Bar.
I have an iPhone 5, bought in Dubai U.A.E.
It is a US model (model A1428) which is different of the model use here in Italy/Europe
My serial number is qualified for battery replacement program.
I thought the Apple Store wouldn't repair my phone because I bought it from another country , a different model and it is already out of warranty.
The Apple store's staff just checked if my iPhone's serial number is eligible for the program and he replaced the battery for free today.
